Born in 85, not sure when my dad got this tape, but this defined my childhood in an all-American athletic family. Watched this at least 30 times before I was 10. Found this and haven't watched in 20 years. What a sport, what a tape.
Born in 82,I think this film was copyrighted in 1988 because the latest when this was made was the 1987 NFL season when the Washington beat Denver in Super Bowl 22 and the score was 42-10.I bought this video at Wal Mart in the electronics section in 1989 maybe 1990.I was 7 or 8 years old and I loved it I have been watching pro football since 1989-2023.
I was born in 1990 and am 99% sure my dad got this from a gas station before I was born (he was an avid collector of gas station VHS tapes, so we had a lot of old WWF and Three Stooges tapes as well). My brother and I would pop this bad boy in anytime we had an hour to kill.
Thought about this earlier and decided to do a youtube search. SO GLAD I DID! Thank you for posting this! Like a time machine transporting me back decades.
I used to have this on VHS back in the day. Probably watched it a thousand times. The best NFL highlight film made to date back then. Thank you very much for posting. Appreciate it.
Yep. Sad part is the old timers were paid crap and played a man's game. Now these players get paid through the roof and get babied. If anyone deserved the money, it was the guys in this film!
I had the VHS tape of this as a kid. And i must admit it stayed in my VCR for a long time...lol. Watching it again brought me back to my childhood watching and learning about all these great players from back in the old days. This is definitely a classic NFL Films tape. I love it. Peace!!
I had this and super duper football follies from 88. Grew up on a farm 20 miles from town. I'll bet one of them was in the vcr at any given moment for 5 years 😂
This made me want to play football, and also want to be a high impact DB. Love the hits. Watched this on VHS hundreds of times as a kid growing up in the 80s/90s
Man! I used to watch this before my little league football games in the early 90's, and I would quote LT all the time from this film to pump up myself and my team on GameDays, good times! Great oldies never die! Watching it with my son now, it's a crazy blast from the past! Thanks for posting my childhood memories!
I watched this VHS so many times as a kid that aside from John Madden, Harold, Reggie, and FELIX were the most influential figures in my NFL fan experience.
I remember my Uncle had a subscription to Sports Illustrated and got this VHS. I was in the 5th grade at the time and he let me borrow this. I finally gave it back to him after a year! I loved watching the highlights on this back in the day!
All I know from football came from watching this over and over in the 90s, and Tecmo Bowl. People start talking fantasy football today and its immediately what I start spouting and people ignore me vs wasting their time to roll their eyes at my outdated picks. Been looking for this for YEARS, and today, first try, bam, there it is. THANK YOU!
This is my fav NFL films video ever. I used to have this on VHS and I've been looking for it forever! So glad you put this on here. Great memories of when I was a kid!
Man I used to watch this on VHS 📼 everyday after school and before football practice. If you spent the night at my house you were watching this and lifting weights in the basement. This got me so pumped for practice and games. I went out and thought I was LT!!!! Loved smashing some people up.
Thanks for uploading this! Wow, what a great blast from the past! Back when football was pure sport. Not tainted with all of the rules, replays, and politics like today. I'm falling out of love with the NFL, but I'll always love this video from my childhood.
Getting this tape as a young kid would heavily influence how I played football and even other sports. The jack Lambert highlights most specifically gave me an appetite for defense and delivering and taking hits from pee wee to high school And Thanks to this tape I did the step over once after a tackle in pee wee and got into a decent amount of trouble. The parents thought I was crazy and my dad/coach was not pleased
Really cool to see how beloved this video was too others as kids, I watched this weekly when I was a little kid and watching it again as an adult I can see why. This is just well made stuff! The editing and just overall feel of the video is really great. Thanks for uploading this gem
Oh my God my favorite VHS tape of all time. Would take this to family reunions to watch it when I was 6 or 7. Love for songs without words was started here. Would love to identify and label tracks. Need helper!!
Thanks for posting this, I've never seen this before. I do love vintage NFL, but personally I am glad they changed some of the rules to minimize these repeated blows to the head and after tackle body slams the defensive backs did on the QBs especially. The game is inherently brutal and that's part of the appeal honestly, but like anything there are limits.
Me too, used to have them back in the 90s from my loved aunty and watched some good documentaries of NFL, Giants and Falcons teams. Loved and followed most of the NFL teams too, however my favourite were Bills, 49s and Giants, I used to take my school friends and played some cool games too…. Back in my childhood there was no football games in poland as they are now.
Wow...it's finally on UA-cam!...NICE! ...I watched this a thousand times on VHS cause I'm old school and I also used to make my kids watch it lol. Thank you for putting on UA-cam :) Back when the real men played !
I'm surprised mine didn't wear out too. When I moved I have all of my vhs tapes away. So glad you uploaded this. Haven't watched it in over 10 years. Wow talk about flashbacks!
Absolutely loved this VHS. Watched it all the time at the daycare I went to back in elementary school. The song which starts at 3:44 has been stuck in my head for the past 30 years. Thank God for the Internet and modern apps! :) Monkey Business by Network Music Ensemble. In my head, I remembered it played at the part with LT, but, alas - I was wrong. :) Thanke for the upload!!
When I was a junior in high school, I took this video to a pregame pump-up. The whole team laughed at how silly this is. I got completely pumped. I watched this so much that it gives me tears after all these years
You are a LEGEND, A HERO!!! I have the original VHS that I got from my pops in '95. Still have it and never thought to look up youtube for the full version! Absolute hero.
Holy cow 🐄. I've been jonesing for this video for 15 years. I used to watch this all the time on VHS. Thank you for putting it up. You just made UA-cam valuable. Lol
My mom got me this for my 7th birthday in '90. Probably watched it a solid 200 times as a kid. Got a couple other ones too. NFL's greatest games was one. Ah I miss those day's.
I got this as a child for Christmas in like 1989 and watched it 100 times! Taught me about a lot of history! Thanks for the upload!!
same, came with my subscription to Sports Illustrated.
Same here 1989 still have it 😅😅

Born in 2002 and I watched this when I was only 4 years old, this video truly made me fall in love with this sport!
Same for me. Born in 84’ watched this countless times. Played 5 years of Pop Warner because of it.
Thought about this earlier and decided to do a youtube search. SO GLAD I DID! Thank you for posting this! Like a time machine transporting me back decades.
Brings back great memories of my childhood. Instant classic!
I got this VHS tape when I subscribed to Sports Illustrated and my brothers and we watched it over and over. I have been looking for it forever.
Born in 1990 watched this so many times on vhs great video
Had this VHS as a kid too, it's crazy how much even the score and dialogue is entrenched in my subconscious. Wild watching it decades later.
The music 🤌
I've been looking for this since UA-cam came out. Thank you so much! I wore this vhs out.
Yeah, me too.
Same
Same
My brother and I watched it this so much. We knew every word
Me too bro omg
I used to have this on VHS back in the day. Probably watched it a thousand times. The best NFL highlight film made to date back then. Thank you very much for posting. Appreciate it.
Me too… watching this brings back memories
It’s too bad that kind of physical play back then doesn’t exist anymore 😢😢😢😢😢
I watched this tape 11 billion times it’s all I had lol
I still remember all the music! This is iconic
90% of those hits would be illegal today.
Bill Lee you aint lyin
Now its closer to 95%, some pretty bad calls from even worse refs already in the season
NO SHIT !! These guys from this classic era took a POUNDING !!
That's true
Yep. Sad part is the old timers were paid crap and played a man's game. Now these players get paid through the roof and get babied. If anyone deserved the money, it was the guys in this film!
From a time, when Football was still a contact sport. Had this on VHS and watched it over and over again. Great to get back in time with this.
This is when real men still played football for football. They got hit so hard
I had the VHS tape of this as a kid. And i must admit it stayed in my VCR for a long time...lol. Watching it again brought me back to my childhood watching and learning about all these great players from back in the old days. This is definitely a classic NFL Films tape. I love it. Peace!!

I can’t express how much I loved this film. I had the tape until it stopped working. It belonged to my grandfather before I was alive
This is like the best video tape ever
My father had this video .... I watched this a bunch as a kid.
Those bleeped out language bits crack me up!

Literally would watch this everyday with my pops until I was about 12. Greatest football video ever.
This VHS 📼 was on repeat in my house. Still get all the feels from it. Thanks for a wonderful childhood, Felix.

Great to find this. Still have the tape. Lots of quotable moments
49:04 "Above all else, Gentleman, Pro Football is a game of great impact" Oh how the times have changed. Miss those stellar hits!
This is what made me fall in love with the NFL!
I’m ecstatic this was put up. I watched this vhs 537,000 times as a kid
Good to see this available here. Thank you for posting it. With so many changes (for better or worse) in the NFL this is now a historical document.
I was 7yrs old when we bought this on VHS. And still know the words. Best video ever made.
A carton of Winston smokes and you got this vhs for free. Thanks grandad. Love the 80s!
Ches Blake I got this from Sports Illustrated, when I was 8.
Mine came from SI as well!

Big Bad John 365 Classic
I watched this all the time with my dad when I was about 5 years old. This and NFL Primetime are the main reasons I became a football fan.
Finally a robot voice that doesn't piss ya off

The musical composition (or score) is perfect! Everything is perfect! The runs, hits, passes, catches, flair, everything...
Funkydunkleman, that was truly inspirational. I am a better man for having seen.
😂
