"Consider getting a sidekick, a 'chalan,' another person who can realistically demonstrate the shots while you give advice. Visual examples could really help transmit the knowledge. I love your work and I'm a big fan of your videos. You have a great personality!"

Thanks for that good advice. Question? Do you weight your paddle with 3 gram weights?

Great information on taking away angles from your opponents and setting up your next shots.
Is that a miniature golf course to the right of the courts or just some Astroturf grass?

Another advantage to cross court return is it can be used to keep an aggressive mobile player back and stop them crashing the net on the 5th shot.

Thanks for the effort you put into your videos! The pro/con discussion is VERY helpful.
BTW: Are these courts in Las Vegas? Are they public? If so, are you comfortable sharing what part of town they are in?

They’re in Utah, and they’re private courts actually!

I have had issues with people teeing off on long high returns. Please let me know your thoughts on this.

Changing spin will greatly help cause it kicks at them!

Anyone going to talk about that Cybertruck in the background?

If i'm returning from the even side of the court and my partner is a rightie, I like to return back to server as close to the corner as possible. This lets my partner have a better chance to poach. I just have to make sure I got the deep angle 3rd shot drive if it comes.

Do you signal to your partner your intended placement of Return of Serve beforehand?

May want to show video segments to demonstrate the shots in an actual game plays. It's kind of dry and hard to follow with only talking and throwing the ball around.

Well that was 3 minutes I’ll never get back. My guy over here playing mental chess with himself on video. Make some friends and try demonstrating instead of just yelling and pointing around the court.

Too much confusing info; too fast. Hard to follow, and even harder to self-visualize this particular video.

it could be a shorts video but not 9 minutes explanation ....

    • @pickleballplaybook
      @pickleballplaybook  7 місяців тому +1

True but a shorts wouldn’t have the depth provided 👍. Longer video forms give a good opportunity to get down to the knitty gritty

Maybe get a partner so we don’t have to listen to you.

@@pickleballplaybook get a partner so you can demonstrate rather than talk the entire time. I teach applied water dynamics here at the University of Virginia and I always demonstrate what I’m doing.
