That hit me hard, even though I always knew the day would come. I naively hoped he’d play another French Open. There really are no words to capture what he brought to the world as an athlete and as a human being. I grew up watching him, and he’s always been my favorite. But beyond the court, he inspired me in life-his spirit, fire, intensity, and graciousness. These are the qualities of true Kings and Champions, the kind that are both born and made.A true role model. There will never be another like him. He transcended the role of a regular athlete. And while he would humbly argue that he’s just a guy, to millions of us, he’s the Ultimate King. Forever my GOAT. You did something no one else in sports has ever done for me. It’s the end of a golden era. Thank you for being you, Rafa. For existing.

People always argue who the GOAT in tennis is. I don’t care, I just notice that there’s no such sportsman personality like Rafa in Football, Basketball, Baseball etc.

Maybe it's just me but I was most overwhelmed by the family part...
At first he thanked his mother, making sure she is the very first person he gives his appreciation and respect to.
Second his wife, which makes him the most emotional and overwhelmed out of pure love.
And last his dad, with strength in his voice, emotional and full of respect.

The loyalty of his team and to his team over his entire career speaks volumes of the man. "I leave with the absolute peace of mind of having given my best. Of having made an effort in every way" is the understatement of the century. He played like his life depended on it. Left everything on the court. Unbeliebbable warrior.

I was deployed to Iraq and remember watching Rafa win his first Wimbledon in 2008. I had no idea he would end up having 22 majors and being a member of the big 3. One of his greateat wins was coming back to win the Australian Open in 2022 over Medvedev.
