Thanks for the kind words! Let me know if you pick one up and how you like it. Of course, no pressure, but I do have an affiliate link in the video description if you were already planning on purchasing from Sweetwater.
I watched line 6’s actual UA-cam bass release video and your video goes way more in depth. I own a sans amp and i think it doesn’t sound like it at all, but I’ll definitely buy it for the other amp simulators.
This is the most in-depth review I've seen for this. Thank you so much . I was considering it, but my Tech21 Bass Fly Rig can do all this already. Thanks for sharing this.
I might do a short about that, but my calendar is pretty packed, which would make it tough to get a full video out for the footswitches. Perfecto de Castro might have covered that in a video, though. But it's pretty simple to set up. I'd have to look at the manual again, but you enter global settings, turn the amp knob to the last and second-to-last circle segments (iirc, please double check before doing that) and press the amp knob until the color of that segment matches the effect bank you want to turn on or off. The only downside is that it IS a global setting, so that's how it'll work for all presets. Personally, I'm most likely to toggle gain on and off, so that's what I'd have it control, along with synth.
Hello Emily. Great video review of this pedal, it seems like an "all in one" with great features. You can notice the great quality of the sounds, I don't like the fact that it's made of plastic. Thank you for sharing and your work with this video. Greetings from Spain 🇪🇦
Hey there, Emily. A quick question for you. Do you know if the bypass on this pedal is a true bypass or buffered? Nice review, by the way! Very thorough. Cheers!
Awesome demo 😎🎸🤘🏻 this multi-effects pedal sounds pretty cool. The amp models sounded great. I personally like the grit, vintage, punch, and modern amp models. I like the distortion effects, but I am disappointed about the distortion model. I would have expected to be modeled after a high gained distortion effect like the mxr m80 bass d.i plus or a darkglass b3k microtubes. I also like the modulation effects. I personally like the chorus and flanger effects. The compressors sound nice and the synth effects sound fun. I normally don’t use synth effects live, but I would use it for experimental Recordings. Overall, this is a great multi-effects pedal.
FANTASTIC demo!!! This looks like so much fun! I definitely see this as having something for everyone, so it should be a slam dunk for Line 6. That price point is crazy for the quality of sound and features!
I have been going through the review on this, and like it a lot. I do wish it was able to have a mod affect alongside a reverb or delay. Great review. Subbed.
Well done, don't worry about some of the critics... its NOT about your playing, or style. IT iS about the product, which u went through fairly extensively.. iv seen 6 other demo's of this pedal, U, by far, have done the in-depth. Anderson's was their usual knob twiddling , with no prior product knowledge.. Well Done
Thanks for spending time and effort for doing this video and putting yourself out there. It’s helping me decide whether to buy. One knock (sorry) is your mention of “B Sheee-Han” suggests maybe you don’t know who he is. If that’s the case you must go learn about the bass master!

The synth mode tracks better with a bridge pick up for definition, with a middle or neck pick up it will start to break more easily. POD have always put clever budget pedals. Thanks for your demo.
Very nice review! Stereo unbalanced outs pretty much tells me that bass is more of an afterthought. Clearly guitar was how they prioritized the features and then they figured they might as well make some money from bass players. No bassists use stereo but if they had made the out balanced (or even put XLR) it would be a great solution for gigging. Being unbalanced forces you to use a DI. A bit of a missed opportunity.
Hope you like it! No pressure, but if you like ordering from Sweetwater, I do have an affiliate link in the video description: sweetwater.sjv.io/PodExpressBass
You def have to play to the synth effects, single notes and really clean attack, flats are the best, rounds products high harmonics that effect the tracking.
Nice demo. I have a whole pedalboard so it's not for me but at that price point, I wouldn't be surprised if this got recommended a lot. My alpha omicron cost almost twice as much as this...
I think I would actually buy one of these for guitar, use it for recording bass tracks standalone, and then turn off the amp sims and set up the compressor, octave to be additional pre-effects for the guitar one.
As someone that's tone deaf but still plays... That tuner would not work for me. I need to know what note I'm tuning! After 26 years that's still a hurdle I haven't surpassed.
I just received my express bass today. My only issue is that the presets are difficult to find using the footswitch. Basically, I can go from preset 1 through preset 21 but I don't see any visual confirmation that you actually locked in on the one you want. Just hoping you are counting footswitch clicks to go from preset to preset. Do you know of a better way? I am playing with it tomorrow but only using 4 presets using 1-4. I hate to think about what I would do if I needed a 5th preset and it was preset number 20. I'm sure I would lose count. Any ideas?
@@GetOffset Thanks so much for responding. I used the new pedal for our worship service this morning and it did it's job. I can certainly change the presets with the pedal while playing live like you say above. However, if I use the FS3 and FS4 switch programmed to "select the previous preset" or "select the next preset", it will definitely move you from one preset to the next or previous, but you don't have any visual thing that happens to give you confidence you ended up on the right preset. So I am thinking that I may want to create a couple of presets that work for most things and use FS3 and FS4 for enabling/disabling "distortion" and "modulation/delay". I figure I will always use a compressor but less likely to use "synth" anyway. Then have the fs3 and fs4 switches on the floor and maybe the pedal on a music stand to make tweaking easier. You could also still use a volume pedal by putting it in line with the PA or amp. BTW, I have watched every video on this pedal I can find. Yours is by far the best and you made it look very simple. Any thoughts? BTW, I sold 5 pedals on Reverb after what I saw this could do and I have no regrets.
