Amazing, this show is superb, unique, fabulous, fantastic, one of a kind. It cannot be duplicated, it cannot be reproduced, it most definitely cannot be remade. The remake of the show was absurd. When is Hollywood going to learn to leave greatness alone.

I love how this show displayed an innocent kind of love. A love without the kissing or the intimate scenes, just affection through beautiful words and hugs. You can feel their emotions towards each other without the kissing and crap they've got on TV today. I wish they'd make shows like this today.
I agree, I mean of course I'd still like to see their 1st kiss lol (fangirl) but when I saw the first 3 episodes all I could say to a sister was damn they don't even need To kiss, their Hugs are more passionate and affectionate than any other Love scene I've ever seen.
I was in love with this show when it was on CBS in 1987-1990. So wonderfully written and have re-discovered it. So much love is needed today. Seeing this series again, it's great to re-live the adventure and the love of Vincent & Catherine. Thank you Ron Koslow!
I'm not ever forget the love that Cathrine and Vincent had for each other. Love like that is so hard to fine even for two humans let alone one that is human completely and one that is different with a heart of gold
Yes, she has that "I'm so happy, I can't wipe this grin off my face" look from the time she gets in the car to drive home to when she gets to Vincent (she knew he'd be standing there, didn't she?). And I love that she almost knocks him over... Catherine is one ferocious hugger, LOL

Here's a hug for you *HUG* And because I love the German language, here's a hug for you in German too *UMARMUNG* People have become afraid to hug and touch one another, because (for reasons that I still don't understand) these actions have become less and less associated with platonic affection and are so often seen as exclusively sexual. Which is a deeply sad thing to happen. This over-focus on touches/hugs as sexual things makes people afraid that their gestures will be misunderstood, and the hesitation over being affectionate serves to make more people feel lonelier than they already do. People NEED physical contact; they need the affirmation that comes from literally FEELING that their friends and family members care about them. I hope that's something that you're able to experience on a regular basis. :)

Mark Rushing The greatest mistake was getting Catherine and Vincent together. Their hugs, symbolizing love, yet restraint from doing what they should not was what made the show so great and romantic. The writers should have never let them become more that they were. It messed up the magic of their relationship and was really not logical.

(BTW, I watched one of the South of Oz convention videos, in one of the videos, Jay Acovone said that Linda Hamilton knocked Ron Perlman on his butt during one of the takes of the kiss scene. I crack-up whenever I envision the tiny Linda Hamilton knocking over a big guy like Ron Perlman. LOL)

Loved this show, watched every episode from 87-90. I am not sure why, but my favorite hug, in the garage parking lot, nobody wears a cape like Vincent. I have this on DVD, but like watching video montages like this one. I wish the producers and the network had worked with Linda Hamilton, I think if they had let her work reduced hours until her child was a little older it still would have went on for 5 years or more. I read an article by a TV critic & he felt the same way, instead of killing Catherine, one of the saddest deaths. I never liked her dying, Vincent not remembering that they made love, her not being able to hold her baby. Linda Hamilton said she would be open to bringing it back if it was done right. I would love to see her and Ron Perlman together again.

Yes ... but perhaps it's not too late! I am in favor that the series being further rotated, NOW. I see great opportunities for a new success, because so incredibly many people love the series of 1987 still now. You should continue filming before the original actors become too old. Since it is a fantasy series, you can imagine a good story, why all have grown older. And especially ! Why Catherine still lives- I try to do some things that could help bring the series back ... "Vincent" would say: If you believe in that, follow your heart ... So I do that.
Love the hugs, but every time they do it look weird in Catherine's part, I mean she moves her head and arms to a different position every two seconds! It's like she's thinking, 'Oh I'm not comfortable with my head against Vincent's shoulder, let me move it to his chest...no still not comfortable, maybe on his other shoulder...nope...' I mean come on! Just pick a place to put your head and keep it there!
Lindsay I see what you mean, but I have thought maybe it was to show she felt like she desperate to, and couldn't get close enough. Without all that movement, it is less dramatic and doesn't quite portray how deeply and fiercely she loves him, if she just rests it there. And, I don't think it was every time and with every hug, just the scenes with great angst or love.

Mainly, it is because they almost parted ways, so being drawn together again brought out such happiness and relief. Und dann würde noch eine neue Serie gedreht wo sie die größere Hauptrolle bekam als bei Beauty andere Beast. In der neue Serie die Schwester spielte sie Dr Charlotte Benett. Die Serie würde Ende 1990anfangs1991 gedreht. Die Drehbuchautoren von Beauty und Beast wusste davon und hatten keine neue Liebesgeschichte geschrieben das hatte nicht funktioniert. Sie hatten die 13 Folge der 3 Staffel noch zeige können ohne Diana Benett. Ron Perlman sagte das hatte sicher funktioniert. Er. würde am29 März 1990 zum zweiten Mal Vater.Er spielte dann Hausmann.
