They are sitting at their usual lunch table with their friends, one of their friends is telling a story. Sophie has an anxiety disorder, which of course, Chris knows about very well. Sophie feels a panic attack coming on, she begins to feel dizzy, looking around almost confused as to where she is. Chris looks at her and begins _”to feel nervous”_ because _”he sees that look in her eye.”_ And it _”takes over.”_ her. When Sophie suddenly stands up and runs off, he chases after her immediately. She runs into an empty classroom and it finally _”takes over,” as she leans against a desk, breathing heavily, sweating, and shaking uncontrollably. “Sometimes I join you.”_ Meaning he joins her in these times of need. Chris runs into the classroom, locking the door behind him. He quickly sits her down, wrapping his arms around her, holding her tight to make her feel safe. _”Let you wash over me.”_ She quickly grabs his hand and squeezes it tightly. He wonders to himself _”what is it that holds her tight?” He knows she goes through a lot, yet she manages to be so positive. He begins to soothe her, saying things like, _”Shh, it’s okay, focus on your breathing.”_ and, _”It’s gonna be okay, I’m here. You’re safe.”_ And as, _”Oh what possesses you?”_ comes around, her slowly pulls away from the hug. He looks in her eyes, as he lifts her head with his hand by her chin ever so gently, and kisses her. Sophie kisses back, they both pull away, look down, and smile. Her panic attack comes to an end as he hugs her once more. _ _”When you’re in the half light, it is not you I see”_ meaning she hides her emotions away. “When you’re in the half light, I don’t like the half I see.”_ meaning Sophie hides her inner pain with fake smiles and laughter. _”When you’re in the half light, you only show half to me.”_ meaning she’s so insecure about her true emotions, that she feels she has to hide them from her best friend, Chris. This is such a beautiful interpretation of this song! Your story made tears come to my eyes. You are so strong to be able to go through that and still be positive. This song reminds me of the time where during my anorexia treatment in the hospital, During mealtimes we would recommend songs, and this one girl always recommended this song. I loved it immediatley. It is sorrowful in the fact that I really live in a half light where I meet a very good group of people and very quickly it gets taken away from me, so now I'm all alone in my melancholy world. I have depression, and I show only my "half light" to others. My anorexia posseses me. My memories, my flashbacks posses me. Is there any really "whole light" in the world? Is there any "light" at all?
I was in the same exact position as you, and trust me, there IS light in this world. And that very light could be found within yourself. There is whole light in the world, but you have to see the light in yourself, find it, find your purpose, and from that, you will see light. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the whole Light. He will never leave you deprived of His goodness, since He is the Source of light and life and happiness. And coping with people you love leaving your life is difficult. I believe it takes a certain amount of humility and strength to accept that people are what signify what chapter of life you are on. All people are lessons,, but don’t worry!! You WILL find and recognize those people who are with you through this “book” of yours. But that requires being open and NOT expecting anything of anyone. Please stay strong. I’m really proud of how far you’ve come :)

This song reminds me of the time where during my anorexia treatment in the hospital, During mealtimes we would recommend songs, and this one girl always recommended this song. I loved it immediatley. It is sorrowful in the fact that I really live in a half light where I meet a very good group of people and very quickly it gets taken away from me, so now I'm all alone in my melancholy world. I have depression, and I show only my "half light" to others. My anorexia posseses me. My memories, my flashbacks posses me. Is there any really "whole light" in the world? Is there any "light" at all?
I was in the same exact position as you, and trust me, there IS light in this world. And that very light could be found within yourself. There is whole light in the world, but you have to see the light in yourself, find it, find your purpose, and from that, you will see light. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the whole Light. He will never leave you deprived of His goodness, since He is the Source of light and life and happiness. And coping with people you love leaving your life is difficult. I believe it takes a certain amount of humility and strength to accept that people are what signify what chapter of life you are on. All people are lessons,, but don’t worry!! You WILL find and recognize those people who are with you through this “book” of yours. But that requires being open and NOT expecting anything of anyone. Please stay strong. I’m really proud of how far you’ve come :)
