I do like an underquilt. I got a Snugpack, but the carrying and attaching can be a pain! If the weather is not to cold I try to use the pad with a ponchliner over it. That said, although I have a love hate relationship with the underquilt, it has sure been a blessing on a couple frigid nights!
Thanks for the information lee. I'm still trying to figure out my setup. Since we went from Summer to Winter I decided to pack away my hammock set up and get out my hot tent. Of course next week it could be summer again. LOL you know how the weather here is in the midwest. At a different subject. Congratulations on your TV interview. I seen it on facebook. Talk to you later brother and have an awesome week
Everything looks good Bob, your hang looked really good . The foot end was just above the head end , making it a “good hang” as they say. I use hammock gear. They are expensive , but hey it’s an investment .
You are not kidding about expensive. I've been looking at under quilts... I don't think I can afford one at the moment. I might just go with the sleeping bag... I have an awesome week and I'll talk to you in the next one.
@@Bob808Knight look at one and take some pic of it and make one of your own peace out brother
good job Bob8 that is one thing that I have never done before you are a wizard at doing the videos tell next time stay warm and safe brother
You got to give it a try bob. Once you get your hammock set up to where you like it you'll get some of the best night's sleep ever. Just a quick tip for your first time set it up very low to the ground in case you fall out. Yes I've learned this from experience LOL. Have an awesome week and I'll talk to you in the next one .
excellent
Thanks jerry. Still searching for a good under quill. All the ones I looked at are freaking expensive. And you know I'd like to do everything on the cheap. :-)
i have been looking at one but for now, i am just using an extra sleeping bag
I think I'm going to go with the sleeping bag too. The ones I've looked at are so freaking expensive they're out of my price range. Plus and about the middle of fall I go down to the ground. Then the middle of spring I go back to the hammock. Talk to you in the next one. And have an awesome week
I woobie for now cmy vid
That's awesome brother. Hey don't laugh too hard. But I've got one set up in my office for afternoon siesta. Have an awesome week... I'll talk to you in the next one.
It's called shot cord
Thanks trapper. For some reason I could not think of what the hell it was called. I know now :-). Have an awesome week and I'll talk to you in the next one.
Can use a sleeping bag as top quilt. Just partially zip side up about 18”. Put the zipper side down so zipper edge is between legs then move the unzipped area to each side of you. Then if you get hot you can remove some of it off of you. Once you find the best lay of under quilt put a couple spring clips the black spring steel ones for paper. To hold under quilt in place then sew on mitten hooks keeps it in place. Oh a rain guard helps a lot when it gets colder also. Nice vid.
Hi John I'm going to go with your suggestion. I've been looking for top quilts and every time I find something that's decent it is just so expensive it is way out of my price range. Plus I've got a several ultralight sleeping bags I can use that would be perfect for this. I also got those big Clips you were talking about. I've used them to hold my wool blanket into place before thanks for the information. Have an awesome day and I'll talk to you in the next one
