Unpopular opinion, but I like both versions of this bit from Kirby's Dream Course. Sherbies' is good because of the art and detail put into the art, while Shoocharu's is good because of how expressive they make Arin and Dan and give their animations a very surreal twist. So instead of arguing over whose animation is better, how about just enjoying and appreciating them for what they are?

I swear Shoocharu's animations are just blissful to watch. The absolute randomness of his style gives a bizzar and crazy feeling to it and that makes the scenes more hillarious than they already are. Comparisons will be made so I guess I'll put my 2 cents in.
Sherbies' animation was subtle and complimented the audio with gentle colors and a smooth art style. allowing the audio to be the focus and using the animation to add additional context for comedy effect.
Shoo's animation seems to be focused on the animation for comedy, and used the audio as background and context. The art style is sharp, wild, and fast paced.
I feel the reason people are bashing this one is it doesn't capture the feel of what most of us have expected from a GameGrumps animation. That is, an animation that builds on top of the audio/events in-game, rather than using it as an extra to the animation itself.
I personally like the slower pace and subtlety of Sherbies, however I feel that this one has an energy more in line with the grumps, and succeeded in what it set out to do. I applaud Shoo for taking risks and breaking the mold.

Drone Gamebot I'm glad someone knows how to give actual critique and commentary past some vague statements about "the animation in [either]." I don't expect everyone to have an artist's eye or anything, but *at least* target something more specific than "the animation."
(clarification: "the animation" could mean lots of different things... the motion from frame to frame, the imagery depicted, the visual style of the characters, the work as a piece of animation, etc... so it's unclear what the critique is about. But this post very clearly uses "the animation" to refer to the whole of either work, since it then gives more specific commentary after stating which one was being addressed.)
Well, you have opened my mind. Hypocritically (I'm a quiet advocate of open-mindedness), I disliked this video because it was so jarring and I personally dislike the sudden wildness or, to name one thing, the puppet head of Barack Obama sliding down the screen and leaving a trail of blood and bits.
But your perspective and appreciation have changed my mind, and I hope to keep what you have said in mind for other things I may find too jarring and crazy. So I thank you.
But the question you need to ask is, "What does the animation add?"
'Cause what I'm seeing here with Shoo's video is just a bunch of pointless scenes that seem imaginative, but lacks cohesion that Sherbie's video had. I mean, we're getting several shots of them laughing and Danny doing some weird stuff. Okay, and?...
Whereas in Sherbie's video, not a single shot is wasted. Every shot is portraying the joke and adding onto the audio. Also, in Sherbie's vid, we see the facial expression of Obama family, presenting what the audio doesn't add. Michelle's smirk towards Obama's remark of his erection, Barak's kid embarrassed by his father, the "WTF" face Michelle has as his husband is watching a gaming video and slides out.
If you took out the audio in that video, it would still be hilarious as the shots alone are hilarious.

Vin Nguyen As Drone Gamebot expressed, the animation - or rather the animator takes risks and, as you expressed, made something weird. I think these factors do/can augment the audio, for the Game Grumps make weird jokes sometimes! And I think "president sex" would be an example. You make, I think, very good points, namely the bit about Shoo's animation being able to stand on its own without the audio, thus making it a nice complement to the audio (or the other way around). I simply think, thanks to Drone Gamebot, that this wild counterpart complements the audio in a different way.

No, I'm not high, I'm using facts to back up an opinion. When this video was first uploaded almost every single top comment was talking about how they preferred the other animated version of this. You can scroll down as much as you want and you won't find any of those original comments. So, something was done, I don't care if you think that the Grumps don't look at their comment section, let alone edit it. The fact of the matter remains, those top comments have vanished.
