The WNBA officials are technical foul happy, I never knew it could be so easy to get a technical until I started watching the WNBA. All in all the officiating in the WNBA is horrible and terribly inconsistent and they often go to the monitor and still get it wrong....after 5 mins.....If only the WNBA had a commissioner....Oh wait. What I meant to say was if only the WNBA had a commissioner who does ANYTHING besides show up on draft night, awards shows and draw a check.

In a game against Indy this year, Taurasi got a tech, laughed about it, then walked over and high-fived Indy coach Christie Sides! True story.

Taurasi had just made a basket and Caitlin took the inbound pass and blew by all of them and made a layup and got fouled by Griner. Taurasi was mad! She probably said to Christy Sides "damn that girl gets down the court fast!"

Quita, I’m new to WNBA this year & have learned so much from your channel! I read this morning that Aces signed Queen Egbo to 7-day contract & googled her because I didn’t recognize her name. If you ever have time can you do a video on why Queen has been traded to so many teams? Thanks!

🤣🤣🤣 You lightened my day! OH, 17% of all T's are on Clark! 80% of those are by Sky! I don't think the WNBA wanted Mercury to lose them both on the same game, but they could at least said DT out this game and Cloud out this game and if either get another T during those two games they lose another game! DT was screaming and whining at the refs. She slowed the game down! If CC can get a tech for slapping a cushion away from the ball, DT deserved that one! (Yes, I am a Fever fan. I just hate how all the deference given to older players for fouls of all kinds. It's boring.) ALSO, since you showed that Sun clip of CC getting T'd what did CC do? I played that back several times. You put this up for a reason so I suspect you know more!
Thanks for explaining the T rules and penalties!

The record for most technical fouls in a season is DT with 9 in 2013 & 2016 in which she served 2 one game suspensions in each season. She had 7 technicals in 2008, 2017 & 2018.

I loved what I saw from the FIBA refs during the Olympics. They let players play, didn't get involved with key moments or plays and called the clear fouls. They weren't perfect but they reffed key games and we didn't learn their names, so I call that a win. The W is still young and I can see a huge boost in wnba betting coming next season. Will be interesting if we find out about dirty refs soon

I think DT has been playing for so long that she doesn’t care anymore. 😂😂 I wonder if she’s been in the W longer than a lot of the refs. The officiating is awful and the commissioner needs to address that. As far as the players, the tech system is in place-let them work it. They want to argue and accrue techs. Let them take whatever comes with doing so. They’re grown women. People complaining about them voicing their frustration is weird. Basketball is a very competitive sport; high intensity and physical. The refs letting players get away with things while penalizing others at great cost is going to have these grown women feeling a way. I’m not surprised they say something. If the officiating wasn’t as awful as it is-I’d feel differently.

    • @Barto-p4k
      @Barto-p4k 15 днів тому +6

What does he have to do with it? The suspensions are inked into the CBA. There is no not suspending her if she keeps getting them. Why do you think her teammates have started to get between her and the officials? They know.
You really think she will be the exception to the rule? They can’t do that. Every player that’s been suspended under the current CBA would have a clear cut grievance. The C in CBA stands for “Collective”, that means everybody. If one has to follow the rule, they all have to follow it.
Face it. Clark complains too much. She did it in college as well, to the point where her father hollered from the stands for her to stop it. Facts. Instead of excusing her behavior, maybe hope she is able to garner some control.

Normally I’d say it doesn’t show much professionalism but the W refs are so bad it would be hard not to get frustrated.
Look at DT’s latest tech that was rescinded. The officials told the coach they may have been wrong. ???? Well if it wasn’t clear cut why did they call it? They are just awful.
Quita I wanted to get your thoughts on a matter. I watch all the teams in the W and a player that’ll be a free agent after the season that I’m really impressed with that I’d like to see the Sky go after is Emily Engstler.
She is a 6’1” forward that they could move around because of her versatility, plays good defense and can shoot.
    Your thoughts?

It’s generally the players that can afford the fines that do it. A vet who makes good money or a player with sponsorship deals.
There’s a way to complain: discuss an issue with the refs during a break in play for example. Yes, the refs as a general rule, have been awful, but younger players learn from the vets unless they have anger issues.
