100 Days of Sunlight just delivered to me yesterday.... and I’m already done! I loved Weston- he’s such a strong character. I Absolutely loved the whole book, can’t wait for anything else you publish ❤️

Abbie being passionate about internal conflict gives me faith in humanity 👏 it’s just good to get a wholistic view on writing and really everything since writing an easily be applied to life.
Yay!! I was waiting for this one. I sometimes think that Abbie, you were born for being an AUTHOR, you ARE born for being an AUTHOR! LITERALLY!! I am amazed after reading your book and watching you explaining a particular topic. I truly think that no one, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE CAN ELUCIDATE IT PERFECTLY THAN YOU Abbie!!
I know it has been two years since you made this series, but I just used all of the videos to help me create my stories outline and I am actually so excited about it. I always have story ideas, but can never seem to make an outline that makes sense. Thank you so much Abbie!
I love how this video felt like a Climax for this 3 Act story structure series. This series caused that in me. Truly a master if you can even make your videos about story-telling RIVETING. Bravo, Abbie.

Thank you for putting so much time into helping writers to make their best story possible through this awesome series, and ALL your videos. Also... congrats on 50k subscribers!! It's so incredible that I used to see only the number 200 on your views, and now you have thousands of writers in your community. Way to go, girl. You totally deserve it.
Somehow you always upload the exact video that I need at the moment. Getting ready to write the climax of a novel I've been working on for the past year! Thank you for this!!
*Dear Abbie,* These videos has taught me a lot as new novelist ! I can see the effort you’ve put in to make these lessons valuable for us. It has not only encouraged but changed my perception of story and characters. I say this with all my 💓, *THANK YOU SO MUCH ABBIE!*
Let me pause the video a minute to thank you for your guide series on how to write a good story!! It has been life saving on many MANY aspects. I am an artist, creator with a huge universe in mind and a lot of good ideas. Organising that mess has been stressful BUT your videos has given me the guidance I've been looking for. I am now here with an almost completed outline and a solid story that I think my readers will be interested to fallow along.
This has been an amazing series! I'd put off outlining my stories for a long time, because it just sounded too complicated. But, with the way you went into detail in explaining all the beats of this story structure, it all makes a lot more sense, and feels actually doable. Thank you, Abbie! :)
Thank you so much for this series! This has been some of the best advice I’ve ever heard. After watching this video, I think I’ll make one of my midpoint events either the climax or dark moment of the story. I kept trying to come up with an exciting, action-packed climax, but everything I thought of seemed silly. But this event brings a lot of story threads together, so it makes sense for it to come near the end.
Okay abbie, as a rookie writer, this series changed my life, especially now that nanowrimo is coming to an end. Thanks so much for helping me finish a short story during the month, and a larger novel that I might just get done before 2024 because of this series. You're an amazing teacher, this is a brilliant community, and I can't wait to see where all this takes us collectively
I am writing in capital letters "INTERNAL CONFLICT" on my whiteboard. Luke Skywalker...William Wallace...Jack Dawson. We remember the journey and struggle they had. Not how fast-paced the scenes were. Thank you, Abbie for an amazing lesson. 👏
You couldn't have picked a better thumb nail photo for a video about writing a climax . ☺️ On a side note thank you for putting so much time into making this series . It's been incredibly helpful . You are AMAZING .✨ ☺️
Okay thank you so much for pointing this out or just putting this information there. I was so much annoyed by good movies having very chaotic but forgetful climaxes. So much as I would not watch the movies just because it reminded me of awful climax. Now I know how to improve them in my head❤ Love you for that. Than you so much.
Just wanted to thank you Abbie, cause for the past 2 weeks I’ve been watching the playlist about 3 act story structure, and finally wrote my story. It’s not a novel, but rather a short story, 15 Pages long, but it contains all the elementy of 3 act story structure. I worked really hard to not only write what happens but how what happens affect the protagonist. In fact it helped me SO MUCH. Thanks to that I was able to plan it for 2 weeks and then when I forgot about deadline xD… I wrote it all in 2 days. In fact I wrote 9 Pages in one night. Maybe for some people it’s normal but I’m a really slow writer who takes ages to write a single paragraph. Just remember I’m not saying its a lot for everyone, but it’s a great Accomplishment for me. That I was able to finally finish a story and create it all with rules that helped me connect with a reader. I also watched your character creation videos and made the whole writing notebook for this story. It was a fun journey. Definitely gonna do that more often. You are the best! Thank you! ✨📖✨
I never put comments on youtube, but i needed to thank you ! Those past weeks I have watched all of your 3 act vidéos, and made a detailed plan of my novel, and i feel so happy about it ! I have already written 2 stories, but something was off, and now i know why ! Thanks to you I think I have deeply upgrade my novel !
It literally took me months struggling to write the important events of my novel until I found your videos and completed the whole series. Now understanding the secret ingredient behind every successful story. Abbie, you're a life savior and I truly appreciate that your channel did not just motivate me back then to write, but it is a full guide to why stories really matter. Thank you❤
Seriously the way I look at my story has revolutionalised, now I'll mend my story well ,thank you so much for taking my story to its next level. Rewriting the book scares a lot,I would be much grateful if u can take a concern about this topic for us❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have a lot of work to do. Thanks for that. 😁 I started watching this series after hitting the point in my sequel to Angel in a Box where I was going to pass it to my editor before I watched this series. This has made me rethink my approach, my method and encouraged me to find the missing element that I’ve lacked so far. Abbie, you have a great gift for instruction. Thank you for sharing this with us. I’ve been writing for twenty years and I’ve never heard anyone break this down so well and in such a useful format. I’m going to delay my current work until I get this right. Thank you young lady. Well done. 😊
FANTASTIC series, Abbie! Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us all what we've been missing. Inner conflict is something I have struggled with my entire writing career and this is the first time I've been able to really wrap my head around exactly what it means and how to interweave it into the plot. It makes me want to rewrite all my books over again. LOL You're my heroine!
Thankyou so much Abbie, these videos have inspired me to finally write my story and show why it matters not only to others who read it but myself aswell!! You're awesome✌💫
My last climax is two people in a diner, and for plot of action stories and character id say compare pulp fiction to fast and furious 9. or Shirley valentine compared to any Adam Sandler film
I want to give you a high-five Abbie. I've wanted to write all of my life (I'm 65) and I've used your series in lieu of school. I'm going to give it a go now knowing you've given me a firm grounding in the basics. And even if I never finish anything, thank you so much for an interesting and entertaining series. 😊
Very thought provoking. I think this whole series was solid advice for writing a character driven story. Personally, I prefer plot driven stories, sometimes I enjoy stories just for a side character or even villain, just to see if they survive the external conflict. I also enjoy book series where there is a broad cast of characters, where individual characters are touched on lightly, but never developed as fully as described here. Overall, I think it depends a lot on what type of reader you are, but I do think all the advice you have given provides authors with the tools to make stories appeal to a wider audience. Thank you.
Thank you for this series! I would still be writing messy, plot-driven books with the story going all over the place if not for you. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this video series! I cannot say it enough. This video series has given me clarity around my current WIP and a novel I shelved almost a year ago (my first MS ever).
Thank you so much for this series Abbie! I'm a serious over planner, and your vids have really helped me feel comfortable with my planning process and actually get my wips up and running! I can't thank you enough xx
Yes, this definitely has been useful, helpful, inspiring and inciting. Thank you, Abbie, so much for your passion and patience to talk all this stuff about an internal conflict that makes everything MATTER over and over again) I think I've got it underneath my skin now and won't be able to ever forget. That's cool! You really are a great friendly teacher and mentor of writing, you've been so helpful and I'm so glad I've found your channel, you have no idea... I'm not sure if anyone is going to see this comment after all these years) And still I hope you got my virtual support rows and thanks and wishing you all the best! 💜
Hi Abbie! I've been following the whole 3 Act structure and many other videos for these past two days to prepare for writing a novel. I want to let you know that you're very inspiring, and this all has been very insightful. I want to thank you for sharing all this knowledge with us and genuinely wanting to help us improve our writing and the way we tell a story. I enjoyed every video, not just because of the information but because of you as well. You're amazing both as a person and as a writer!! ^-^♡♡
I haven't watched the full series, nor have I written a novel, but I'll take the high-five :) But this was great, very very helpful, you're one of my favorite youtubers now, here's your high-five back at ya! 🖐 full series, here I come !!!
I didn’t totally binge this whole series in one evening, planning my story alongside it 😏 *reaches out for high five from Abby* But seriously, this has just transformed my approach to story and I now have a clear picture of story structure. Thank you so much, Abby!
Watched this as it aired. Watched this all the way through when it was complete. Just watched it through again, after outlining my 2nd novel, to make sure I'd not missed any important beats (It helped me iron out a few details I'd only penciled in loosely) I can see this being a regular resource for all my novel crafting needs Lol. Thanks Abbie!
Just started my writing journey and went through your 3 Act videos. Want to say thank you for your awesome work! It helps me a lot to bring structure and meaning to my characters and story!
I binge watched this whole series to help me write the fifth draft of my screenplay in one week. You are so helpful!! I'm very excited about this story now. Thank you for helping me make my story matter!
thank you soooooo muchh, finaly i finished my script. and i still like re watch this series. its just every i rewatch it, i got new understanding. thanks, love you
I read this book called "Freckle Juice" by Judy Blume when I was really little. It was just an everyday slice-of-life story about a kid trying to make a "juice" to get freckles, but it kinda traumatized me and I remember it till this day 😂
This series was so helpful. Thank you Abbie. I was stuck in the midpoint of my contemporary fantasy story. You really helped get this derailed train back on the tracks.
Thank you for this video series on the 3-act structure, I've been writing a book and was a little lost on how to go forwards around the end of the first act/beginning of the second act, I wasn't exactly sure how to go forwards with focus-- and this video series helped me plan out my novel into a rewarding, climatic story! Love your emphasis on internal conflict and character!
Randomly got writers videos showing up in my feed, including yours and I'm glad I watched your whole structure series. I will try to structure and write my book following your advice to make it better than it could ever have been before and then hope it will at least be decent. Especially the science parts are helpful as that's something that the majority of readers has in common (:
Hey Abbie! Hey comments section people! I don't really know if anyone is reading this at all😅😅 But I had a thought and decided to let it overflow here I guess😅😅😅😅😅😅 I've been binge-listening to this playlist for awhile today, and thinking about how all this applies to my current project. Which, uh...Duh.😅 But I've been thinking specifically about my MC's Misbelief/Fear and motivation(Duh again) and how much her goals actually change within the "first" book. And how the fear I have setup at the beginning and her reasoning for stepping outside of her comfort zone into the plot in the first place isn't the exact same fear that she faces at the end. My character, a sixteen year old highschool student, is a past victim of mental abuse and manipulation. This has effected her in a way that, when she sees the opposition character using these same familiar tactics to try and make her believe things that didn't happen actually did and believe things that DID happen actually didn't, she is desperate to prove him wrong. To prove that she is NOT crazy, and that she KNOWS what she's talking about and what she saw. Really, the point is to prove to HERSELF that she knows what she's talking about, because she knows she's been forced to doubt herself in the past and believed the lies that were told to her then and doesn't want to go back to that place of despair and worthlessness. So it becomes imperative that she proves herself right. Which does happen. At the Midpoint. When the opposition character Admits the truth to her, and the months that she's spent "investigating" has lead them both into conflict with each other, and that now turns on it's head and they begin to become friends. And a new fear is sort of introduced by this point that "she is afraid of getting close to people because she's afraid of getting hurt by them" but by the A-ha moment, she realizes a "Truth" that isn't an Actual Truth but a Fear Made Apparent by the events of the Disaster. She "realizes" that she is afraid of getting close to people because "All she can do in life is cause Pain to those she loves." And this leads her into the Climax where she tries to, quite literally, sacrifice herself for her loved ones. She feels that this is the best way because she can die for something good, die for love, and also take herself out of the picture to stop causing pain and trouble to the ones she loves. In my head, I'm seeing the two previous fears, the fear of being crazy and the fear of being hurt, as kind of Foreshadowing to the Real Fear that has been ingrained into her soul by her abuser. This is the True Fear. The Root Fear, so to speak. This is the Fear has birthed the other's and Pushed their branches above the surface while it remains hidden at the heart of everything. It kind of made sense to me a minute ago, but now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not really sure how effective it will be "In Story" and a Hidden Fear(?) is not something I've ever...heard anyone talk about before? But um...what do you think? Anyone?😅😅😅😅😅 I don't think it's a Negative Arc exactly, because she didn't choose her fear over change, but just uncovered her true fear and will have to realize that, that too, is a lie that she'll have to overcome (in book 2?😅) I apologize for my long rambling. I swear, I'm usually more coherent than this😅😅
Thanks, so much Abbie. I'm all gung-ho for the final lap. I've realized that I haven't shared much of the protagonist's internal journey and struggle with the reader. Also, the where do they go from here segment is lacking...Hmm! maybe an epilogue? I don't quite know but will-and soon. Appreciative thoughts, Maestro. 🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹
Abbie, you've transformed my understanding of the art and craft of writing. Because of your insights, my book will be far more impactful. Thank you for putting your soul into this endeavor, I'm forever grateful.
This series was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for creating it and seeing it through. My writing and storytelling skills have now improved 1000% after watching this. You are a legend!
Hi Abbie!!! Thank you so much for this video. Your whole series on the three-act story structure has really helped me write (and re-write) my novel! Would you ever consider creating a video (or maybe more than one video) Where you take one book/movie and break it down entirely using the three-act story structure and your prompts? I have no idea how long that would take or even if it would possible due to Copywrite but I would find something like that really helpful. Or, you could even do something like that where you case study a character from a book/movie and break down their desire, fear, and misbelief and how they change throughout the story? IDK. just some ideas. *shrug*
9:50 this part reminded me of one of my favorite books of all time, they both die at the end. As the title implies, there are two characters who are gonna die. In their last 24 hours they learn so much about themselves and the true meaning of being alive but obviously, it's too late. They both are going to die anyways. Definitely recommend it, it's a really good book. I want to read the prequel but haven't had the chance to yet lol
Thank you so much Abbie! I just recently ordered 100 Days of Sunlight and I'm waiting for it to be delivered. I'm so excited!😍😍 I learned a lot from this series about writing in general, along with your other vids. Also, can I recommend a vid about romance arcs/writing about romance in general in a novel? I'm having some difficulty on it, since I feel like there's something missing every time. DAMN YOU'RE EDITING IS LIT.🔥🔥🔥
Hey Abbie!! Can you plzz do a video where you suggest books which you love ....I think that would be fun and also a little less work load for you too. Love ya 😍
Abbie. I really liked your videos up till now because they taught me everything in a neat, step-by-step, specific way. Your videos mattered to me. Changed my writing style. Gave me a boost. Taught me...literally everything. Would I consider myself a writer before you? Truth: No. But now I am thoroughly disappointed. In this video, and a couple before, you just stated what needs to be done. Example, here you just said about resolution: find the balance between satisfying readers and leaving them hungry for more. I know it becomes harder for you, but we're following you for a reason. And if you really did just read all this up till now - thank you.
I write short stories, not novels, but I realize I've been doing much of what you discuss here. It's tougher to pull off in a few thousand words, but it can definitely be done.
Abbie- this is my favorite video in the series. I appreciate all that you have taught me-- and I am a professor as well as author. Simply brilliant info.
I've read the Mime Order by Samantha Shannon a dozen times by now, but every time I reread it I get nervous and exited again. The battle at the end is not the biggest or most explosive battle ever, but it happens between two characters who have become so important and the battle means everything to their relationship. It's thrilling every time and I'm lucky to be even half as good as her.
I'm taking a creative writing class at the local college...and while it's fun and I've been interested seeing all the different things, that my brain does subconsciously, laid out on paper........your videos have been way more helpful🤣
the absolute shade she throws on divergent every chance she gets is borderline ridiculous and I love it😂
yeah I really love divergent but I couldnt agree more with her statements about the poor information about being a divergent and almost no internal conflict, we didnt get it as tess
Bro same i love the dystopian trilogy’s but….she’s right
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the brilliant editing? You’ve really taken your channel to the next level. Respect!
For real!! So brilliant! She is a self-made writer/producer/director/editor and her channel is 🔥
I was just gonna say that! Like omg. She’s not just a good author or teacher..... she’s killing it with the editing!
Only issue is that the logo intro is too long.
I know it's kind of off topic but does anybody know of a good place to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Anderson Benicio flixportal =)
Sci-fi writer here! Just here to pop in and say science fiction stories can absolutely be character-driven and emotional, roiling with external AND internal conflict 😄 (I personally think all genre fiction stories should have both)

I agree, I think she can write really strong characters!
I really loved the book, too! Weston was an absolutely amazing character.
Natalie Oliver same i loved him so much he has my heart
Ahh I read it too, in 2 days. It was such a wholesome story

Who else high-fived Abbie through the screen?
Yeah, I did. Felt so triumphant at the end of this series. Diving into the other bits on her channel, too!
Yup me here

Abbie being passionate about internal conflict gives me faith in humanity 👏 it’s just good to get a wholistic view on writing and really everything since writing an easily be applied to life.

Thank you! ✨📖✨
Abbie, you are a gift! Thank you for this series. Your clarity and confidence are contagious.
7:53 That image transition was just flawless in my eyes😮
I started watching this series after hitting the point in my sequel to Angel in a Box where I was going to pass it to my editor before I watched this series.
Well done. 😊
Yes to 17-hr inner conflict special!
Thank you.
Oh my god.. just want to tell you that I finally got my copy of The 100 Days of Sunlight and I LOVE IT SO FAR!
I hope you really like it!
@@artistgalgani5317 I LOVED IT
@Pedro Silva I can totally relate to that..finished it in like 4 hours.
It was so beautifully written...
@@anureetarora3717 Did you finish it? I'm so happy for you! It's gonna be hard to find a book as good as that one
@@artistgalgani5317 I did and I finished it the quickest i ever have finished a book!
I definitely agree it was SO SO good.. like the characters 😭😭😭
Thank you for this series! I would still be writing messy, plot-driven books with the story going all over the place if not for you. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this video series! I cannot say it enough. This video series has given me clarity around my current WIP and a novel I shelved almost a year ago (my first MS ever).
Dear Abbie,
These videos has taught me a lot. I can see the effort you've put in to make these lessons valuable for us.
I have watched so many videos about writing and must say, Abbie, you are much better than all of the others.
Okay I just love the way you explained what really matters in the climax. I'm definitely going to go back and watch this whole series. Thanks so much!
I haven't watched the full series, nor have I written a novel, but I'll take the high-five :)
But this was great, very very helpful, you're one of my favorite youtubers now, here's your high-five back at ya! 🖐
full series, here I come !!!
I didn’t totally binge this whole series in one evening, planning my story alongside it 😏 *reaches out for high five from Abby*
But seriously, this has just transformed my approach to story and I now have a clear picture of story structure. Thank you so much, Abby!
Man on the ledge. Tension driven the whole way though but when you see the reasons for everything that's happens it gets so much better
Watched this as it aired.
Watched this all the way through when it was complete.
Just watched it through again, after outlining my 2nd novel, to make sure I'd not missed any important beats (It helped me iron out a few details I'd only penciled in loosely)
I can see this being a regular resource for all my novel crafting needs Lol.
Thank you for helping me make my story matter!
thank you soooooo muchh, finaly i finished my script. and i still like re watch this series. its just every i rewatch it, i got new understanding. thanks, love you
it is about how what happens transforms the character! This is going to be my mantra.
At long last...been waiting for so long. Thank you Abbie!!
Girl, the pure joy you just filled me with, you don't understand
No! YOU'RE AWESOME! I totally high fived my screen. THIS has been the most rewarding thig I ever watched on UA-cam. Just THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
You saved my fantasy book-in-progress. Thank you.
Exciting is now trademarked 👍😂
Randomly got writers videos showing up in my feed, including yours and I'm glad I watched your whole structure series. I will try to structure and write my book following your advice to make it better than it could ever have been before and then hope it will at least be decent. Especially the science parts are helpful as that's something that the majority of readers has in common (:
Hey Abbie! Hey comments section people! I don't really know if anyone is reading this at all😅😅 But I had a thought and decided to let it overflow here I guess😅😅😅😅😅😅
I've been binge-listening to this playlist for awhile today, and thinking about how all this applies to my current project.
Anyone?😅😅😅😅😅
I don't think it's a Negative Arc exactly, because she didn't choose her fear over change, but just uncovered her true fear and will have to realize that, that too, is a lie that she'll have to overcome (in book 2?😅)
I apologize for my long rambling. I swear, I'm usually more coherent than this😅😅
I know this 3 act series has come to an end but i just wish it goes on and on and we see Awesome Abbie coming up with new topics in it!
THANK YOU ABBIE!!! I loved this SO MUCH!!! You literally made 3-story-structure so much less scary and I loved doing it with you! God bless you 💙
*shrug*
EPIC ENDING OF THE STORY BEATS SERIES!! Thanks Abbie!!!
Thank you! You saved my story. I couldn't figure out how to end it and where the climax was. Now I know and can finish my story with confidence.
This series has been so helpful, so useful, super great, so wonderful!😊 You're amazing, Abbie!
Yess,you've hit 50k!😃Congrats!🥰
Thank you so much Abbie! I just recently ordered 100 Days of Sunlight and I'm waiting for it to be delivered. I'm so excited!😍😍 I learned a lot from this series about writing in general, along with your other vids. Also, can I recommend a vid about romance arcs/writing about romance in general in a novel? I'm having some difficulty on it, since I feel like there's something missing every time. DAMN YOU'RE EDITING IS LIT.🔥🔥🔥
The mission accomplished high-five moment was 💥✨
I never thought Abbie was cute... but when she said at (11:30) to "go write fan fiction" 😍
HIGH FIVE ABBIE! Thank you for creating this content!
I have learned quite a bit with these videos but I've also realized I'm doing quite a few things right!!! So happy!
This video gave me a lot of clarity.
Thank you
I write short stories, not novels, but I realize I've been doing much of what you discuss here.
Right on time of my Climax writing... Hi-five! Hahahah thanks for all your videos... I mean it!!!
I'm taking a creative writing class at the local college...and while it's fun and I've been interested seeing all the different things, that my brain does subconsciously, laid out on paper........your videos have been way more helpful🤣
I've been waiting for this!!!
