Your surf reviews are just the best!!
Thank you for this review. Very informative! Helped me on my decision for a new wetsuit. Have a great day!
thanks! ordered one today much appreciated Noel
Confusing - the Xcel website says the grey lining is the Comp the Comp X has the bright lining. The Comp X is warmer and more flexible according to Xcel which is opposite to what your saying.
Good question!
What is the warmer? Comp ou Comp X?
Nice....now that we are all freezing down in Portugal and brand new 4/3 would be great ;)
Man I was freezing in Portugal in my 3/2 already in November, right now I'd want a 5mm head to toe 🤣
Got it for 260€, started surfing with it, I think it's very good, keeps you warm for hours
Oneill hyperfreak next please 🙏🏼😁
And what gloves would you recommend?
What beach is this amazing waves!
Agree!
Any plans to review the Stamps Grinder-X? Maybe cool to see some more local shapes in there
i surf everyday currently in winter here in melbourne australia, have surfed in this wetsuit a dozen times already and am finding it really warm extremely light and comfortable, highly recommend plus ive had 2 three hour sessions and no muscle soreness or coldness from restrictive material or heavy weight, quite phenomenal but cant comment as to the longevity or durability of this suit yet
52 DEGREE - 11 CELCIOUS this is gold ^^
Can you Do a review on the slater design houdini
What boots do you recommend?
I've had bad experiences with Xcel and Cskins now so wouldn't recommend them. Both had a hole in the soles. Xcels broke after 1 winter and the Cskins ones lasted like 2 months, was so shocked as their suits are amazing in my experience. Tempted by flash bomb boots next time for the quick drying
Hi what size are you using there ?
Medium
Great review!
Hey man are you planning on reviewing the sub driver 2.0? Im looking at a new stick, a daily driver thatd also handle better stuff and thst board caught my eye. Or i was thinking a fishbeard
Yes.... I will eventually do a Sub Driver 2 review. I’m still waiting for a board in Light Speed that I ordered September last year. Sorry... nothing I can do. I say get a Fishbeard now it’s fast and fun.
Hey Noel, here in Chile (in my city) the average temp water in fall - winter season is 12º - 13 º celsius (54º-56º). Do you think this suit is good for this temp?? (I had booties and a hood). Great review!! Cheers
For water temps at 54-56 I suggest the Xcel Comp X 4.5/3.5 with built in hood. It’s really warm and flexible.... the color is Grey. Best suit I’ve worn to date.
@@surfnshowreviews7777 thx!
Guess ya don't need a hood in Kellys pool even in those temps, not a whole lot of duck diving to be done ;)
Your reviews are great, but I didn’t see anything on T.Patterson?!?
I talked with them... they are not interested in sending boards in for review.
@@surfnshowreviews7777 what a bunch of k o o k s I’ve spent thousands of dollars based off your research and review.
Is this good wetsuit for $160 I see on sale?
Yes
🐐
I had trouble with the comp because there really aren’t ankle or wrist cuffs. Tw hike wearing booties the suit kept riding up and my booties would fill giving me jelly feet syndrome.
Cuffs are crucial, the wetsuits that didn't have them flush more. The XCEL dry lock is the best suit I've had, ankles could be tighter, on bigger waves they can flush and roll up.
I've struggled w/ boots ballooning w/ water for forever, dry locks are still the best for that too though that I've tried.
The drylock is awesome
@@azzag2414 are u guys really spending like 500 dollars on a wetsuit
@@LegoWars2011 I got a 3/2 dry lock for $220 on Evo, Then a seam on the knee split at the end of the spring season, so I contacted XCEL to get it fixed, but they sent me a new one instead...
So $110 per wetsuit, an absolute steal imo.
If you live anywhere that's 4/3 territory or below, or you're going on the thinner end of a wetsuit for the temps, you're gonna want quality. You can still get good deals on Black Friday and similar sales or looking around online.
In my experience, lower end wetsuits still cost at least $150-200, and don't cut it.
@@LegoWars2011 I spend 500+ and my suit lasts 7 years while you spend 250 every two seasons. Who wins. Me bitch.
