Yayo Brinks - Long Live

This song is a tribute to my little brother, my best friend Kadin Ray Smith (Kady)
Backstory:
Kadin tragically passed away of fentanyl poisoning at 7:48am November, 8th, 2022. That was the day not only mine, but my family's entire world got flipped upside down. There aren't any words deep enough that could even come close to describing the pain that we feel. He was 17 years old.. He LOVED his family. Kady was a real character.. 1 of a kind. A true blessing to every single one of those that got the pleasure of having him in their lives. He was the light to my darkness.. and I hate to say that I've always had a lot of that. Unfortunately, he did too.. I want the loss of my brother to open the eyes of those that are going through hard times to really speak up and seek guidance INSTEAD of picking up substances to try to cope. He did that.. he really did. We talked so so much. I hate that he still felt like that’s what he had to resort to do in the moment.. I'm praying and hoping that my raw emotions, honesty, & vulnerability in this time of grief will touch the hearts of those that truly need it.. My brother wasn't perfect, but he was no addict either.
This tragedy just goes to show that it truly can only take ONE TIME.. Your first time could really be your last...
Lord I pray that anyone who can relate to this almost unbearable, heartbreaking feeling gets the peace that they so deeply deserve.. I pray that in times of grief that we will shed light upon the life of our lost loved ones... Remember their lives.. and tell the story. They will live on through us and we will meet them at the pearly gates of Heaven when our time comes to be together again. Amen.
