I’ve been refinishing wood floors for 20 years, I have found that fillers are typically crappy and crack and fall apart way sooner than the floors need refinished. Although you do make the process simple, I’m not a fan of using it. Sanding it is also a problem, after it has set for 20 years, pieces tend to come out
wood filler does not permanently fill gaps. Woodfiller can TEMPORARILY fill anything, But the gaps changes all year long and the wood filler is those gaps isn't elastic enough to swell and shrink with the season and eventually break up and look like kitty litter. After I informed my customers about it they decide as some of them love the gaps and some are really bother with it.
It is not a solvent. Wood is rather unsolvable in terms of paint solvents. It is the clear paint that you use to paint the floor. You mix dust into it to create filler.
Super glue baking soda and wood chips will hold forever. Tried an experiment with oodles and noodles busted up with super glue dries fast it was a cheap idea and crazy how it will hold up. 🤣🤣
I have been refinishing floors for over 30 years, originally we would use the fine sawdust mix it with polyurethane,
Is it possible to fill 3/16 gaps with this method, and stain the floor afterwards before poly finish?
Is that to flood fill/trowel fill? Can u share ratio please?

Do you need to sand much afterwards?
What is the name of the solvent you use with the saw dust? That’s the most important thing
Exactly!
I've been trying to work this out for nearly a year now

@@angushardwoodflooring9216 what product are you mixing with the saw dust? How long do you let it sit for?
Wood doe, dries in 30 min. You the hit your Final Cut usually 80 grit on big machine followed by spider 120 grit then coat
So are you talking about pre-made fillers falling out or this method with sawdust?
Very good video thank you. What is the type of solvent you use? Do you find it is flexible enough not to crack up during wear? Thank you
Do you sand after this step? Will the floor take stain if you're mixing the dust with sealant?
after you do that what is the next step? do you use water-based polyurethane?
I always just bought a bucket of filler
what brand is the sealer?
Some people use a bucket - next level
What did you use to mix with the dust?
hopes and dreams
Is there a similar method for outdoor decks?
pva mixed with water is a good filler! and way cheaaper..
Can you do that? I thought epoxy would be better (so I've heard)
Where can I buy the solvent?
