I remember doing something similar in the early 80's. I had a dv27 mounted on my bike and I carried a cobra 148 and battery pack in a rucksack on my back! I used to go up to the top of a local pit heap and blast out!!!
There was a lad back in the day that had a Binatone 5 star, SWR meter, car battery and 7 ft firestick all on his bike. He used to get out pretty well all over town.
I did this back in 1982 with a water proof CB on the handlebars , a pair of series linked 6v square torch batteries in a bag attached to the rear of the seat and a mag mount aerial on a metal plate attached above the batteries
I use to have a Corba 29 cb on my schwinn 10 speed bike back in the day. Almost 30 years ago. I use the car mount so i can slide it on and off the bike. I used a melt bracket to hold the skip shooter antenna to the alumna bike rack. Which grounded it. Then. Added a power supply. I road it for baltimore to Wayne Pa (15 hours). Talking smack to Truck drivers. True store.
the radio I'm using on my bicycle is a uniden CB radio and a antenna from the cobra radio and it's running from the ATV 12 volt battery and I'm using channel 19 to communicate with trucker's it's amazing
I am thinking of putting on on my pedicab is it woth it? Or would it just be used as a decoration. Most of my riding is around collage football game here in Michigan
I had this setup back in the 80's on a small Danita FM CB radio which still works. But... only rain was always a problem. How do you deal with the wet issue?
@2j4ez did you make that antenna yourself or did you buy it? If you did it yourself could you tell me how you did it or where you bought it? Thanks btw that bike is very cool!!! +2j4ez
Its great having a CB on my bike but its takes ages to take down when I get to work. I like the look on people faces when they see ive got a CB on my bike thanks for watching
Anti Bullying Ambassadors I’ll have to measure the size . The battery isn’t heavy it’s a lipo 11.1v 3s I got some 11.1v 3s 5000mah batteries which I use on my portable hf kit and it’s a lot lighter than a lead acid battery
@@2j4ez I thought cb radio had to be 12v to operate them and not 11.1v im looking in to same battery as u use as it's a lot easier and light weight I've saw 11.1v 3000 mah Much you pay for ur battery and where from I have both handheld cb radio and crt radio
@@2j4ez Best results & performance is try to get to the most open & highest point & hopefully that will show better things for you. @@2j4ez If your going to make the bicycle & cb a bit more permanent the antenna coax could get very possibly get better performance by reducing that coax from antenna to rig & besides you won't have that excess amount of coax under your crossbar area. @@thestig8133 I thought about reducing the length of coax cable but it handy if i park up at the local park and want to use it on a bench i can and then have the the bike away from then bench if i use a better antenna and a little more power on HF
Jez a great job fella to get that all set up and working. Be great to catch you on the air mobile. Your battery looks a bit rocky up there i will sent you a link in the comment below for a suggestion. I can share this on FaceBook if you like of Steve's page. Let me know if you want that.
You tock all the time doing it to your bike coiled antenna cable loses power and signal cut it down to size it will work lot better for you I do like it 😀😀
the CB radio is the same size as yours and the antenna is a little taller than yours and I strapped my CB radio to the handlebars with zip ties and because my bicycle rack is from my 26x4.0 fat tire bicycle and transferred it to my bicycle I had to screw the antenna on 2 skinny plank's of wood and bundgy strap it in two directions and it's solid on the rack and I have one bundgy strap left and will be using it for the battery
The long whip antenna, here a fme adaptor to covert to TNC male, bit better than lots of RF adaptors. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FME-MALE-TNC-MALE-Adaptor-NEW-/201438103370?hash=item2ee6a5874a:g:rWoAAOSwYH5WB~R- just unscrew the BNC and FIT TNC,does this for my Randy II handheld and can swap easier. You're right. I would of also mounted a "biscuit tin" on the bike rack and stuck the mag mount on that. House alarm batteries are good to run that cb as well.

I used it for years when cycling to work worked great . Was able to speak to friends a good couple of miles away no issues
nice job, that's pretty much the setup I tried on my bike once, but as it's mostly raining here in wales I gave it up on it lol. 73

Hi thanks for watching my videos.
The antenna is a thunder pole thunderstruck I got it from www.thunderpole.co.uk
mount a very small solar panel to trickle charge the battery about a 2.5 watt panel. to help you keep the battery last longer.
Did it 40 years ago. I used a 1/4 wave antenna and had 1 generator on each wheel in addition to the motorcycle battery. The radio was a uniden 33.
hi, how did you recharge the battery? bicycles dynamos are in ac curr with 6v, can i know more abt that?
reminds me of good old day on my bike
