People don’t realize being skinny means more than just fitting into clothes! People let you get away with more things when you’re both pretty in the face and body. Do you think you would’ve gotten the same reaction if you were skinny and wearing pajamas with a bonnet on? That’s a deathly combo 🤣🤣💕

K…now take those pjs + bonnet and put them on a morbidly obese woman.
Who of the two will likely be noticed first, and then subsequently judged, for their disheveled appearance in public?

Oh 110%. Naturally, I tend to run on the slim side. However, when I was on the depo shot as a teenager, it made me gain a good 30 pounds. I tend to gain weight in my chest, hips and butt. I was also a good two inches shorter than I am now in full adulthood. For a good two years of my life I had to walk around with the most ridiculous looking Jessica rabbit type proportions. It was actually deeply mortifying and I always felt very uncomfortable in my own body. Men were _disgusting_ to me too. I was just a little 13, 14 year old teenage girl and grown ass men constantly approached and harassed me.

Heavy on the youthful aspect of being thin.
I was at work yesterday at there were a group of people who walked in. Men and women. I was busy so I only spared a few glances. I thought it was a mom and her teen daughter (maybe 15-18) with a few more men. When I actually looked up properly at them I realized the “daughter” was actually a woman in her mid thirties, maybe early 40s.
She was wearing yoga pants, a baggy sweater & had medium length hair. Which is usually what teen girls wore. She was around 5’4 or so and just skinny everywhere. It’s absolutely crazy that from the neck down I would easily pass her off as a 16 year old just because she was thin with a smaller frame. Honestly my jaw dropped a little.

I wasn’t skinny for very long and it was due to disordered eating but EVEN IN THE HOSPITAL I noticed my new privilege. I didn’t look sickly yet at that point.
People would ask me what I eat, how I look so good etc
There were some other teenage girls who came into my room and I basically became their leader that was extremely strange.
I got flirted with TONS, people tried to sneak me their number etc.
There was a girl who asked me what I did etc and she was super young so I really avoided the topic but eventually just gave her some generic advice.
Her mom and her aunt were there and they said “eww no man wants a skinny girl!! They want curves and something to grab on! Only dogs play with bones”
I wasn’t even looking boney or anything. As you can imagine, they both had the same… look.
Now I’m fatter but I’m definitely gonna be skinny again soon.
Ain’t no way I’m going all my life without a privilege that can easily be mine

I’m 5’9 125. OR, they will say, “You’re thin because you have a fast metabolism,” As if I just lay around eating jelly donuts and maintain a fit and toned body. I’m thin(size 2-4) but have extremely large natural breast (G cup) This body type is quite rare as most thin girls are usually pear or banana shape. This body type gets the MOST hate idc what anyone says. Women will compliment a woman that is thin with a booty but never a girl with large boobs. I’ve even been called fat by women who I weigh less than and wear a smaller size. I get treated well by men, but women are NEVER complimentary about my body and always point out that my breasts are huge. I don’t get the same skinny privilege as other women. Women are visibly disgusted by my body and automatically assume I’m some sex siren trying to steal their man or I’m “seeking attention”. Mind you, I could wear a paper bag and these tits aren’t going anywhere. Skinny privilege does not extend to all skinny women. I’m much maligned for my natural body type

You're so right! It's because of how good you look in the clothes that fit well on you due to being skinny, especially if stylish.
I literally had the same thing happen at a job delivering cars I used to work at with these fashionable black and white pants I wore with a black long sleeved turtleneck! Mind you, I got them preapproved over the phone to wear to avoid any drama.
But when I wore them, immediately I was told by the same supervisor that had approved it that although it was technically okay, they didn't want to risk customers potentially responding negatively or "upset" the service dept manager who was strict about uniforms. So I couldn't wear it after that nor even the necklace lol.
Then they put an old, overweight woman that I worked with in the customer facing role to deliver vehicles that I was supposed to be in for that day.
Soon after, I then received a compliment from a male customer and another from a service worker. I since quit that job. However, I truly believe because I have more of a thin hourglass athletic figure, that's why they intensely monitored me, even down to a necklace. They just want to see you dressed down to feel better.

    Very informative video EU. 💫
When I was at my biggest (size 12 @ 15/16 years old) I always had people who wanted to go outside with me.….Literally, I was always the first one called or notified. Yes, I was always considered “pretty” but I always felt it was very passive. Maybe that’s why I was still treated nice…😬
However, I wanted to look great for Senior events and college so I lost weight (35 pounds @ 17/18 years old).
When I became 20, I no longer got calls or invites to places. Then, I found out that I was always the last to know about events.
My “friends” always complained about how “frail” I look, even though I was only 125 pounds @ 5’4. Everyone became mean and annoyed with me.
Now, I’m at my preferred body type(athletic and lean but still petite and curvy) and I took my skincare/hair care very seriously. Read a lot of books, learned a lot of things, and made more money.
Now no one is asking me to come to events/outside anymore. How ironic….🫠

Now, I’m back to being fit, lost 30+ pounds and feel a lot more confident and have worked on self healing and moving away from comparison.
For the work part. There was a beautiful Latina girl I worked with who always dressed nice and everyone had her in their mouths. She had a fit body and dressed in very trendy clothing. People would complain and try to report her. However the overweight women at my job would have their whole boobs hanging out their tank tops and no one would bat an eye.

Ok that’s why I said at the beginning this is just MY experience and doesn’t represent the majority of others , hopefully some “think women with no curves” will chime in and we will see what they say…

What do you think of water fasting? Some people I've seen boasting about fasting for like a week or even more, do you think that's a good way to lose weight? Have you ever done a long water fast before and did you see any benefits?

Then you would show a picture and they say things like, you're not even fat! Like you said with the clothing hacks, most big people do photo hacks like figuring out angles. But there is still a difference, they just don't like seeing that!!

I love this topic, but please stop it with Black women! Aren’t you a Black woman? Being skinny is for yourself, and if anyone has a problem with being skinny, that’s their choice.

I actually agree with you but I understand that she’s sharing her story from her point of view and she’s black (or half black) and that’s how she experiences life. I’m asian and I’m fine listening to her story/opinion/pov.
