Outside The Gate and BTATS are two of my fave KJ albums. Never understood the hate towards it. They were really opening up their sound and going for bigger things.
Outside The Gate is amazing. I think taken as an entire 15 album continuum Killing Joke has improved in many ways with each one worth carefully listening to every song. So many strong b-sides too.
I was so surprised that the guitarisr looked like a Hawaiian dancer when he's playing such hard guitar. See how he's moving back and forth in the chair. He is mesmerizing. How do you do that?
Musically it's pretty naff and gimmicky for the most part, the actual songwriting. America is a great song though and different. Moments of others are great, but mostly half-baked songwriting just overblown with massive synth production.
@@FatManJackson A personality trait in astrology. It inspires supercharged and explosive actions, which can lead to either great accomplishments, or utter destruction.
Jaz really had lost his mind that year in some self indulgent pursuit. I like moments from Outside the Gate but the album on the whole is an overblown mess. Shame they blew it after the brilliant BTATS, but so grateful they regrouped to record Extremities and found their feet again
Love the guitarist sound in these songs, ahead of there time’s musically

Outside the gate is a great album and very deep... imo.
Rambo is now on production duties
Loving the focus on the drummer during the LLB music video, most drummers get hardly any attention. Raven King & Clint Eastwood too

Extremities is my fav album from them
I dont get why people mention ouside the gate Jaz ocassional Georgie album as the tracks presented here come from albums but OTG
They're a little bit more than just a band.
Jaz look's like Maradonna here
