- Join me on a serene walk through a picturesque Cotswold village on a rainy day. Experience the beauty of the lush countryside, historic 17th and 18th-century cottages, and charming 19th-century estate homes. Wander past the village church, a Grade II* listed building dating back to the late 12th and early 13th centuries, and immerse yourself in the rich history of Coln St. Aldwyns, a village first recorded in 1086.
Stroll through the village's scenic streets, learn about its past where 22 tenants were recorded in 1086 and its growth to 106 people by 1548. Imagine life in 1831, with eight farmers employing 60 laborers, and see the land once used for wheat and barley cultivation in 1976, still home to numerous sheep and beef cattle.
Finally, visit the historic New Inn Pub, built around 1600 from the iconic Cotswold stone. Let the soothing sounds of rain and nature accompany you on this tranquil journey. No talking, just walking - a perfect escape into the heart of the English countryside.

I live in the states, way out in the country too. Some of the farmers around me wrap their round bales in a white plastic covering and stack them in the field. They remind me of big marshmallows. Love these early morning walks. I’ll bet it smells heavenly
