Very helpfull video... That lock transparency and the last one F12 were new to me.. I have learnt a lot from you.. U r a great teacher... Thank you Sir, for all the efforts! Stay Blessed!
New keyboard shortcuts is Resize and select hardness of a brush. Select brush tool, then click and hold "ALT" + hold " right bottom of mouse " drag "up or down" drag right or left" to size and hardness respectively.
The one I didn't know was the Ctrl+ Alt + Shift + T to redo the last transformation. Just as a note, there is a Hyphenation checkbox right at the paragraph's box, no need to enter the extra menu. And one that a use a lot is the configuration to zoom with the mouse scroll (not much a keyboard shortcut but a function). Oh, and the Q to refine the selection with the brush, it`s awesome!
Excellent! I didn't think I was going to learn any new shortcut, but I must admit I did - I totally didn't know about the Space+F/Shift+Space+F for switching canvas color. I also didn't know (or, at least, never care to think about) that there was a shortcut for toggling the hyphenation (I usually did it via the fly-out menu). As always, thanks for sharing these great tips!
In the settings for a Logitech Keyboard (perhaps others) one can disable the Caps Lock key. I knew it was there but never activated it-until now. Thanks Jesus!
All of these were good to know. Another one I use all the time is this. When you are making a selection with the Polygonal Lasso Tool and make a mistake, hit BACKSPACE to go back to the previous point so you dont have to start over or deselect part of your selection.
You have literally just increased my workflow by at least 30 minutes a day with this Video. This is coming from someone who has been using Photoshop for almost 4 years!!!! Amazing stuff.
Bro i had also same problem, i had uninstall Photoshop twice because caps lock was on but i didn't understand why ps don't preview my brush size. But now i can understand very well . Thanks for this tips.👍😄
I have one more problem that's i cant access" alt + black space " in a smooth way, when i use a beep sound come from speaker then i use alt + hold 3sec backspace key
I haven't even finished watching the entire lesson but I just had to pause at the "Cross-Hair Cursor on Any Painting Tool Caps Lock" segment and say THANK YOU!! In the past I have closed Photoshop and restarted it, shut down my computer and rebooted it, and grumbled at Photoshop on occasion...all to no avail. Thanks for this and all the other great info that you share.
Didn't know the SHIFT F6 keyboard shortcut. Jesus create a video showing how to get the Bridge CC 2017 output module to work with the new Bridge CC 2018. Adobe removing the ability to create web galleries from Bridge CC 2018 was an ignorant decision on Adobes part.
alt-ctrl-Z (step back) and double-clicking layer icon to highlight text.. or whatever. Hold "shift" on a bottom layer to select every layer above it... even to delete them all or merge them (unless you have used a blending mode)... there is a way to do that also. It basically takes a picture of the layer and saves it. There are so many that after years and years they just come naturally to you. Esc is always good for nearly everything... So is Ctrl-D if something has gone wrong (even if it's not a selection, but something is locked and you don't want to waste time trying to figure it out)
Also mention the ability in the curves dialog box to select added points on a curve using the ‘+’ & ‘-‘ keys and moving the points around using the arrow keys. It’s a quick and easy trick you can teach all of us to fine tune a curves adjustment.
OMG... Caps Lock... It's a life saver. How many students asked me about that and for years I couldn't find a solution ... 😂😂😂... Thanks for the great video 😊
Thanks. There were 4 shortcuts I didn't know. One of my favourites is Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E to create a consolidated (stamped) layer at the top of the stack.
An excellent collection of shortcuts. About half of them were new to me. And very helpful. Thanks for your contributions to making our creative work easier.
caps lock///////my god it was one of the hardest time for me with photoshop. I did everything to get back the preview for brush, even I ended uninstalling photoshop from my computer 2 times and when I came to know the reason I was just out of words ...just because the press of one key.
Ctrl Alt Shift T (CS6) doesn't work to duplicate, even not move, the center pivot return to its shape central - not the center made by Guidelines... any idea?
The hyphen shortcut was new to me. One I use quite often is to press the opt/alt key when I have the wrong settings in a dialog box which changes the cancel button to reset and pressing it puts the dialog box to where it was when I opened it.
If Photoshop was a car, to turn right you'd have to flash the headlights twice, jiggle the drivers side door handle, shift to neutral and back, and then turn the wheel anti-clockwise
Thank you for the great video. When I use selection tool eg Brush , some time the circle is too small and hard to see - depends on image colour. How to enhance the brightness of circle. Thks the brightness
STRG+D was new... will use it very often. on the other hand, I am searching for a shortcut concerning the following case (searching for years now ;-) ). Inserting a picture as a new layer wich has e.g. much higher resolution. The new pic appears to large. Now I have to resize e.g. by STRG+T. Is there a short cut to resize that it fits to the screen. With dragging in a smart object it works... Any idea?
Thank you, Jürgen! There is no shortcut for that. You can scale something up of course, but keep in mind that the more you scale, the less sharp it will be.
Excellent video. Just about all were new to me. The CAPS LOCK gets me every time. You’d think I’d remember after a million times but I always end up in the preferences and everything looks ok.
I lost the size of my brush so many times at the start, and it took me many days of closing down my laptop and starting all over again. Caps lock was inadvertently pressed... To change ones brush size on a Windows PC, it doesn't work with the bracket keys. Brush size is changed with "Alt+right click" and dragging left or right. If you drag up/down you change the softness of the brush. Great tips, Jesús..!
Thank you, Fionàn! But I use Windows and this video was recorded in Windows and the brackets works. But the way you mention it also works and some people prefer it. Thanks for sharing!
Like many other PS users, I have watched many PS videos that have (mostly) been useful to a degree, but that one tip on 'taking the colour picker out of PS' beats the lot!...Thank you..
Many thanks, I learnt 5 new shortcuts. I often use these Text Box shortcuts: select the required lines of text, hold ALT and click left and right arrow keys to adjust letter spacing and ALT + up and down arrow keys to adjust the leading.
Once again Hesus you solved one of my very annoying problems.I always want to work with the circle on the brush tool visible, but (having obviously the caps lock pressed) it always showed me the cross only visible. I`m going wright away to test the sortcut.
Great video, JR. Thanks a lot. I was wondering for a while now, if there is shortcut for "repeat last action" (I know that in Illustrator is Ctr+D, so I figured there has to be one for Photoshop too, since it's all Adobe programs), and now I know. :) Again, thanks. And my favourite shortcut would be, by far: Ctrl + Space + left mouse key > and drag up/down/sideways = Zoom in/out canvas For me it's the fastest way
Jesús is a Photoshop (tutorial) god. In every video you manage to give so much information, so clear, so valuable. And your non-distructive method fits with how I personaly like to work. Besides that, you have a very respectful way over you, especialy in the videos were you reviewed some of your viewers photoshops. Keep up the good work, because it is awesome!
Four new shortcuts on your video. Thank you. My most frequently used shortcut is COMMAND - J to duplicate a layer or selection and place it on a new layer.
could you tell me whats going on with the ´select and mask´ tool in photoshop 2018? it is not working properly, even with simple images. the tool can´t find edges. is it a bug?
I finally get it. Just like you, occasionally I would lose the ability to see my brush size adjustments. Very frustrating, and I never realized it was because I had inadvertently turned on caps lock. Thank you for that.
5 were new to me. Thanks. I use the F key twice for full-screen view. Then, if needed, CTRL R and CTRL 0. Sometimes Spacebar F to change background depending on photo. Reverse this with the same keystroke: F.
Thanks for informative tutorial. Did not know any of them. Really liked the one using the circles to create clock like face or other designs but I would have like to have seen how you set up the black and white circles with the hidden lines. I did not understand under what circumstances the short cut with the transparency colors would be used. Thanks again!
There is a hyphenate check box at the bottom of the paragraph panel. No need to go into the flyout menu, if you forget which command option control shift key combination is the hyphenate toggle shortcut.
Jesús, FYC: Changing feather of selection at 6:46: This is not reversible. If you once changed feather from 0 to e.g. 50 and then you want to go back to ZERO, it says, feather must be a value between 0.1 - 1000. This conflicts with the original value of 0 and after selection 0.1, feather does not return from 50 to 0.1. Greetings to Adobe.
Mario, it all depends on what the object is that you are trying to change. A person would be really difficult to get a realistic change in angles, but if you want to change the angle of a car or building then try using the Perspective Warp.
One shortcut I use a lot is R to rotate the canvas. Like when painting around a subject for a mask I find it easier working in a certain direction on my tablet so while working I hold the R key to bring up the rotate tool, rotate the canvas where I need it and release the key to go back to painting.
Very useful video. Jesús, I wander if I could have any success in impulsing you to generate a video on a kind of recipe, or procedure order, to follow when trying to match a certain tonality/coloration offered by a third party software or another Adobe’s software, such the case of Ligthroom presets. Some days aback I found a color image treated with a Ligthroom preset used to take the image to Black and White; the final rendition had such an attractive appearance that motivated me to attempt to obtain same result with Photoshop; I reached very close but not enough, after several try and failure I realized problem was rooted in my lack of certain elements of judgment, being one of them to properly look at the image. Perhaps you can devise a technique to help on this matter. I tried to attach an image to exemplify my point but it was not accepted in this comment; I could send a copy to any mail you determine..
Jesús, thanks for giving attention to my comment. I entered your site PTC, selected tab Connect>Contact us (only option I found to intend sending a message) but form therein accepts not an image. Perhaps you may consider connecting privately with me through my mail address sergiosotomayorprat@gmail.com in order for me to obtain an address to forward that image. By the way, if you call yourself JESÚS instead of JESUS, why is not the same logic with your last name RAMIREZ what in essence is RAMÍREZ.
Wow, wow, wow!!! Thanks!!! And one question please: AFTER I select something in a dropdown menu or input something in a text box, like "Flow" box, that box is on focus, and any shortcut don't work any more, I have to hit enter to remove focus, then I could use shortcut. Any idea to fix this?
Really useful shortcuts, now I can get back to my previous selection's. Can I know the shortcut for creating a new merged layer with selected layers as a copy? Thank you.
Being a beginner to Photoshop, most of the shortcuts are new to me. Pressing the Cap key to show the outline of the brush/pencil tool is the most useful shortcut I have learned. Thanks for sharing.
Great tutorial as always, Jesus. Always getting something new from all your videos! I know the shortcut/issue I'm going to add here is a well known one, but still... Photoshop beginners may find it useful. I happen to work on multi languages Windows OS. And one may know that to switch entry language in Windows the shortcut is: Left Alt + Shift. You see where I'm going here? That combination of keys is very often used in Photoshop but it still activates Windows shortcut. Hence if all of a sudden your Photoshop shortcuts are not responding anymore, better check out what entry language is now used in Windows ;) Now, not so many solutions --> remove the useless language(s) from Windows -or- modify Windows shortcut -or- get used to it and switch language again whenever your Photoshop is not responding the way it should.
I do like your tutorial. I chose you for your precious thoughts, time, energy spent to teach us and for generously sharing your precious knowledge. I ve found your tutorial very useful as I am new in photoshop. I feel sorry that I can't add shortcuts. Please keep going. Much much appreciation. By doing so you bring cooperation and love to many.
Thanks for sharing these shortcuts. I knew only 3 of them. If I can remember correctly on Photoshop 7, there was a shortcut to show all the short cuts on each tool. Does Photoshop CC ha a similar feature?

Most of the short cuts were new to me thank you
Great, Peter!
ALT + scroll mouse = Zoom in/out... OMG AND THANKS
ALT + scroll mouse = Zoom in/out canvas
Alt +Rt clic ...drag left/right up/down... for brush size and opacity respectively..
Thank you, Dr. Harshwardhan! Good ones!
I like this one too, I should pin it to my monitor coz I always forget the method.
On a MAC it's Ctrl+Option then click and drag up/down or left/right as above.
Or if you don't use a mouse, hold Z and use the Wacom pen on the tablet
thx so mu i xwas looken for it for long time
Very helpfull video... That lock transparency and the last one F12 were new to me..
I have learnt a lot from you.. U r a great teacher...
Thank you Sir, for all the efforts!

New keyboard shortcuts is
Resize and select hardness of a brush.
Select brush tool, then click and hold "ALT" + hold " right bottom of mouse " drag "up or down" drag right or left" to size and hardness respectively.
Thank you, Pritish!

You're welcome, Photoshopeando! There's a ton of shortcuts that I don't bother to learn or care about. 😂
Ahhhhhh, caps lock!
In the settings for a Logitech Keyboard (perhaps others) one can disable the Caps Lock key. I knew it was there but never activated it-until now. Thanks Jesus!
Roger, It gets us all!
Sage, You're welcome!
ditto, drove me crazy

I'm not really sure why you get that beep. I have not seen that issue before :(
Caps Lock Gahhh!
😂 yup. My thoughts exactly!
Ps has that shortcut because they hate me.
You're welcome, Marc! Yeah, I did the same thing. I went as far as uninstalling Photoshop! LOL
"my name is ... Jesus Ramirez" is a code word for top notch PS tutorial
😂 Thank you, Achmed!

As for your request, I don't know how to do that! I would have to see if there is a way.
alt-ctrl-Z (step back) and double-clicking layer icon to highlight text.. or whatever. ctrl + alt + shift + E to create one layer of all other layers
👍🙂
Thanks - I find d and x useful for setting fore- and backgroundcolor to b&w and then toggle when mask painting
You're welcome, Horst! And yes, that is a great shortcut! Thanks for sharing!

Very informative tutorial.CAPS lock made me crazy, I used to close PS and restart.
Thank you, murali! Yeah, the caps lock always gets us! lol
My favourite keyboard shortcut is cmd+alt+shift+N. to instantly create a new layer.
Step-and-Repeat Transformation (8:43) I didn't know definitely (instead of probably) 😉👍
😂👍
Thanks a lot man!
You're welcome, You Tech!
Even i also had the same issue with Caps lock key and just just like you did i uninstalled the Ps!
I have problem with the new photoshop edition can you make a video for that please

it is not working properly, even with simple images. the tool can´t find edges. is it a bug?
Ricardo, it should work just as good, if not better than before. What is your issue? Can you describe it further or provide screenshots?
#capslockmeetoo
It gets us all!
Alt + Right mouse click (Change the size and intensity brush) on windows. I forgot the Mac version. Great tutorial.
Thank you for sharing, Jay!
I finally get it. Just like you, occasionally I would lose the ability to see my brush size adjustments. Very frustrating, and I never realized it was because I had inadvertently turned on caps lock. Thank you for that.
You're welcome, Daring!
Can anybody tell me the function of ctrl alt backspace?
Great tips. I MAY have used 2 of these.. other than that, all new. Bookmarked until I can incorporate these. Thank You
You're welcome! I'm glad you found them useful!
Is there a shortcut to cycle through tabs when you have too many tabs to see them all?
5 were new to me. Thanks. I use the F key twice for full-screen view. Then, if needed, CTRL R and CTRL 0. Sometimes Spacebar F to change background depending on photo.
Reverse this with the same keystroke: F.
Thank you for sharing, Ron!
Jesus que version de Photoshop estas usando para el tutorial?.
I had the Caps Lock problem just a couple months ago. Luckily I got it solved with a quick Google search. :)
Yeah, that is the best way to solve problems these days!
Thanks for informative tutorial. Did not know any of them. Really liked the one using the circles to create clock like face or other designs but I would have like to have seen how you set up the black and white circles with the hidden lines. I did not understand under what circumstances the short cut with the transparency colors would be used. Thanks again!
You're welcome, Marcos! Transparency colors? I'm not sure what part of the video that was.
There is a hyphenate check box at the bottom of the paragraph panel. No need to go into the flyout menu, if you forget which command option control shift key combination is the hyphenate toggle shortcut.
That's right, MrCJBG! Thanks for sharing!

No short key is working at fullscreen in photoshop
Jesus, When copying from one part to another, sometimes I need to change the angle to make it fit. How do I change the angle from where I am copying?
Mario, it all depends on what the object is that you are trying to change. A person would be really difficult to get a realistic change in angles, but if you want to change the angle of a car or building then try using the Perspective Warp.
One shortcut I use a lot is R to rotate the canvas. Like when painting around a subject for a mask I find it easier working in a certain direction on my tablet so while working I hold the R key to bring up the rotate tool, rotate the canvas where I need it and release the key to go back to painting.
That is a good one. I use it a lot when I draw in Photoshop. Thanks for sharing!
everytime I press ALT and the certain letters, it tries to enter the menus in the taskbar, does anybody else have a fix?
Sorry. I have not hear of that issue.
Caps Lock
I knw the caps lock key already. before this video. i also had uninstall my PS :D
😀It happens to all of us!
All were new - thanks! I also use the Stamp Visible shortcut a lot: Ctrl Shift Alt E
You're welcome, David! Yeah, that is a great one!
The only one I knew was the escape key to exit from current operation. Thanks for these!
You're welcome, Joyce! I'm glad you enjoyed them! 🙂
Very helpful - never knew about the caps lock thing. That explains a lot!
I'm glad it was helpful, Pete, Thanks!
Only knew 3 out of 10. I am going to write them down to remember them Thanks
You're welcome, Tony!
9:37 is dosent work in ohotoshop cc 2018 plz help
Hi Sergio, what look will that be? You can sed me an email through my site.
Jesús, thanks for giving attention to my comment. I entered your site PTC, selected tab Connect>Contact us (only option I found to intend sending a message) but form therein accepts not an image. Wow, very helpful, didn't know most of them, thanks again
You're welcome, Tim Niceswander!
Ha ha, burned by Caps lock just the other day.
lol. yup, it happens all the time!
Thanks Jesús. I always learn something new from your tutorials.
You're welcome, Richard!
you got the like for the caps lock !!!
Thanks for sharing.
tarun juluru, That would be SHIFT-CTRL-ALT-E for Windows.
Grimsoul Blackheart thanks for that :)
Thanks for the answer Grimsoul, that is correct!
very helpful
You're welcome, Game Tutorials!
Excellent! alt, backspace it good. Most of these are new for me, thanks.
Thank you, John!
There were a good bunch of shortcuts I didn't know - your info about moving/relocating the reference point .. THAT was super helpful! Thanks Jesus!
Thankyou for clearing the doubt of brush preview by caps lock 😂😂😂😂
I did Manny time my ps uninstall for fix this problem
Very good. Would you please tell me if you experience a shortcut problem on

Thank you, Bern!
Hence if all of a sudden your Photoshop shortcuts are not responding anymore, better check out what entry language is now used in Windows ;)
Now, not so many solutions --> remove the useless language(s) from Windows -or- modify Windows shortcut -or- get used to it and switch language again whenever your Photoshop is not responding the way it should.
Ctrl + Alt + shift + e -> stamp visible layer. I use it all the time!
Thank you, LamZ GG! That's a good one!
command+alt+0 = 100%
shift+delete = fill
Thanks for sharing, Roberto!
Ctrl + 0 = Brilliant!
Thank you, Steve!
Caps lock wow , I wished I had known this before wow!
Yeah, that one gets every new user. It got me!
it is not clear what does ctrl d does ?
The first one - redo last selection - was completely new to me - thanks a lot JR!
You're welcome, R Garlin!
Very helpful. Thanks soo much..
Please tell us how to move layers up and down with shorcuts?
Thanks
Thanks for sharing these shortcuts. I knew only 3 of them.
If I can remember correctly on Photoshop 7, there was a shortcut to show all the short cuts on each tool.
Does Photoshop CC ha a similar feature?
Some good tips. I wonder how many people have been caught out with the
"caps lock" key.
Didn’t know about reselecting last selection. Cmd shift D. Thanks!
