Almost all of the mid-motor, belt drive e-bikes I've seen have some form of hub gear. My favourite is the Enviolo.
Very smart-looking bike, though!
One question - when you add a rear mudguard, can cars see the rear light, and does the radar still work properly? I just contacted Tezeus about this - they say that the mudguard doesn't affect the radar or light visibility, and if you want to add a rear rack for panniers, there is an option to move the light/radar system to the end of the rack.
