Some plants can even be strengthened by actually more or less breaking their stems! In cannabis growing people will frequently crush the stems to bend them into specific shapes for efficient growth, and the damaged part will grow into a hard, woody callous people usually refer to as knuckles, and they make the plants way less prone to collapsing under the weight of their own flowers. Plants truly are magical.

This is a good strategy to avoid fungal infections if you notice it happening, I grew pumpkins on my balcony and thought to use a fan to give them air because they were so leafy, the wind from the fan reduced the fungal infection a lot. They were obviously too cramped which was the problem but the air really helped.

I learnt from my horticulture tutor, that fans are the best thing to have in a green house. Not only it cools you and the plants down "as it gets frickn hot in there during summer!!" (Her words) but it also helps the stems grow stronger...much like shaking your indoor plants on a daily to strengthen the trunks. If you have flowers in a green house, set a fan next to it and it will blow the pollen around if you can't get pollinators in the house.

Ive been using your advice to start landscaping/gardening at the storage place i work at, heres some things ive learned starting seeds for the first time. I knocked over a few of my seedlings because my garden wand is too harsh, so be verryyy careful or get a soft watering can. Another thing to note is that people arent kidding when they say they need alot of light. I was putting them by a window but i totally forgot that its one-way tinted. they are thriving now that i put them outside in the full sun. I overwatered mine initially but the fan helped dry out the top of the soil when rainy or i can put them out in the sun.

A fan helps a lot to prevent fungal or mold issues too, but sometimes it's hard having one in a window. 😅
If you want strong stems you can also brush your hand (gently!) through the seedlings mimicing a breeze or rotate them daily. That way they're constantly bending in opposite directions to get to the sun.

Great suggestion - I did plant physiology & aseptic propagation (tissue culture) for graduate degree.
Primary research was around elicitor responses bc aseptic plants build no structure (lignin, celluloses & structural compounds). We were extracting triggers or elicitors for the structural response in plants while aseptic.
My point is that physical movement is a brilliant stimulant idea for structure development in aseptic plant propagation industry !!!
It is analogous to liquid single cell culture agitation. Aforementioned is to aerate & exchange gases & nutrients. However, your practical mechanical suggestions could prove meaningful!

I live on rain forest. Treess hardly break from strong wind, they bend. But when live in Plain area, there was some wind and almost all trees near my house had their branch broken down. (Same species as my home town)

I'm thinking that moving the fan around (or at least turning all the plants) would be advantageous as well since natural wind changes directions.

Corn is so buggy. Fun to grow once. I saw some in a bucket at the trailer park. Ha!
I love things the bugs don't like. I can't grow root veg.s cas of maggots. My cheery tree fruit is totally invaded by them too. I will not spray.
I love my Razberrys. They r so bug free! And easy care. Just cut down dead stalks n trim em in Spring a bit.😊 Apples too. Bird pecks . No frost die. No fort. No poison. Org.apple's .cheap!
My plum is soo pretty but keeps dying a beanch at a time. Hates cold. My brown Bosk ?Pear gets the best color of all in Fall. Awful fruit. But for that color. Bake the dang pears. Other treasure my big beau.Norway Spruce. It got big fast. Great shade . My Ponderosa Pine the birds love for nesting.
They tend to fall in wind tho.
      Hardwood only near your house.
      Always wanted a Japanese Maple
Planted one by the plum. Slow going. That plum is growing a new tree from a sucker tho!
Never plant q cherry in your yard. They spread everywhere !

I call it Stemmtraining, also plants need their training.
The Fan at slowest motion and 3 up to 6 hours a day makes a significant difference!

Make everything right means for me also some almost 90degree side- wind.
