- Gilgamesh and Shanna the She-Devil just got some big buffs in the latest OTA update, and that might be enough to finally push zoo into the meta in a big way.

Power Estimate: I had a really good 10-5 run with this land, landing at a 67% win rate at some solid Infinite ranks. There have also been some promising Zoo lists popping up in the last few weeks, so with these two big buffs, I'm quite hopeful this might finally be a viable meta deck after more data rolls in.

Was totally going to comment and say "Shanna's body has always been great Regis!"
Gilgamesh was solid before it got buffed. I’ve been climbing with a slightly different zoo deck but still using Gilg and Shanna. I’ll say Shanna is/was a bit clunky and a low roll on the 1 costs can easily kill your gameplay, but Gilgamesh is a consistent 5/15 if you draw Kazar or Blue marvel. I basically never felt like he was underpowered. I understand Snap wanting to push the battle pass card but buffing him because he’s not a tier one instant win card first week of the season feels incredibly unhealthy.

Love the insight rant at the end there. So used to thinking the best play is always hitting the nuts or making your scaling card scale as hard as possible. But the best play sometimes is just dumb. Which makes you smart when you can see that the dumb play is the optimal one.
I was truly thinking of coming back to Snap after leaving for a while (got sick of their monetization system). This changed my mind, will keep watching Regis vids tho.

what can i replace mockingbird with in this deck?
At 12:58 I think the optimal play was moving Jeff to mid and playing squirrel girl right, Gilgamesh right. That way you get an extra 2 buffed squirrels and buffed antman meaning Gilgamesh gets an extra 6 points. You only get 2 extra points right total but also a load extra mid in case of a tiebreaker.
Exactly what I was going to say would have been 15-10-31 instead of 15-03-29
33:05 also could have moved Jeff mid and play Mockingbird right to have 20-19-31 instead of 20-14-27 still would have been 1 point shy
@@ericmcclelland7151 At the time, Mockingbird still cost 1 and couldn't play to Crimson Cosmos. If Regis planned ahead, he could have dropped a second Dazzler instead of Mockingbird in Cloning Vats, Mocking bird could have cost 0 and been playable.

I've been playing for a week and hit infinite with a zoo deck with Gilgamesh and now just wondering if I made a mistake because now going up against like rank 50 people.
What is a subtitute for white widow?
Oh boy oh boy a deck I own 11 of the 12 cards for!! I'm sure I can find something to switch out for Mockingbird. I've already been playing Gilgamesh Zoo before the buff, but I'm excited to try this version.

@malachifoster3985 I switched it out for Shang Chi. Shang Chi does great into the mirror because you can kill Gilgamesh and also a Mockingbird that is buffed by Blue Marvel. Also no one expects your Gilgamesh Zoo deck to have Shang Chi lol

How bad would this deck be without Mockingbird? I’m coming back after like a 6 month break so I don’t have many of the key cards anymore
It'll be much harder to go vertical without her cause you don't really have big cards
You could toss in like a Wolfsbane? Definitely worse than Mockingbird but a card that can go tallish in this deck.

Gilgamesh is an awkward heavy hitter. He just needs a ton of support to make him big. You can’t build a good deck around him but he can probably find his way into some good decks.
For game 10, the one with the triple Patriot Ultron, if you managed to get Mockingbird to cost 0, (by playing another dazzler instead of Mockingbird), you could have moved the Jeff to mid and played Mockingbird to Crimson Cosmos with Gilgamesh for the win.
Anybody try fitting Squatch in this list? I feel like it’s totally doable. Maybe drop the Nico or Nebula?
How wild is it that Gilgabuddy seems to be spawning more retreats than Red Hulk? Sure people panicked the first week or so of RH, then they learned to deal with it. Wonder if the same thing will happen for this.

So hear me out...."Gilga-guardians..." I've been having a ton of fun running the guardians with gilgamesh. Okoye, nakia, blue marvel for guaranteed boosts to fuel that gilga. Oh, Arnim-gilga or gamora is also fun.

Any good 2 drop you like. For example even scorpion off the top of my head
Basically any cheap card you want. Her synergy with this deck stops and ends with her being a low cost card to fill a space and potentially contribute to Gilgamesh. Almost any 1 or 2 cost card will effectively fill that role.
Armor, Shadow King, Iceman, Nebula all stick out to me initially. But there's dozens of cards that would do just fine in that slot.
I like the idea of medusa! 2/5 that buffs Gilgamesh but idk

if I learned anything from this video, it was that this deck would have preformed equally well without Gilgamesh. Opponent always retreats if you have a good gilg setup anyway.

So going back to my comments on previous Gilgamesh videos about how I wish I had money for him because he's better than Spider-Woman in my Wong/Iron Heart/Odin deck... now he's strictly better. Even ignoring Wong and Odin, if you play Spider-Woman after Iron Heart, she's a swing of between 8 and 12, depending on your opponents' plays. In the same situation, Gilgamesh is a guaranteed 12. And of course, once you Wong + Iron Heart + Gilgamesh + Odin, that Gilg is getting *massive.*

@@IceMetalPunk Ghost-Spider has been in caches, but it’s been a while. Looks like the last time was mid-March.
That’s one issue with the cache system: They have some cars they repeat quite often (*cough, cough* Knull, MODOK, *cough*), and that leaves so many others that don’t appear enough.

I thought it was me, I go against people with Identical cards almost every matchup. Its like everyone goes to the snap page and just copy/ pastes.
After I go infinite each season I then just experiment and tweek decks, I'd rather create my own builds. Right now no one can effectively counter my negative build as no one else can fully predict what's coming. People think i play for the seven round but get shocked when I six card dump on r6 and shut down he game ....

To be good Shanna needs to spawn tokens to be consistently good. She can screw you too many time. Really got to snap early with this deck

the buff on him doesn't make sense, modok with a discard whole hand has a 5/8 stat line, a 5/9 with bonus power as effect looks kinda wrong
Modok discard isn't treated as a downside
Modok is 5/20 if you also have Collector and Morbius which is pretty often, not to mention stuff like Daken shard, Proxima etc
Doc Ock is a 5/10 that usually just ends with him killing himself.
I agree with everyone modok discard maybe not cosidered as a downside, but dock ock must be at last a 5/12 if a 5/9 can buff himself

Base power of cards have gotten super messy, it doesn't break the game but it makes the feel of playing worse. Big cards are less satisfying and small cards feel insignificant

The character itself doesn't bring any interest. It doesn't has to do with the card text or stat line. Besides playing zoo feels like you going to see killmonger every match 😅
