Man finally someone is thete on youtube who makes some deatailed tutorials but also makes them easy to understand m good job amd have a nice day cody .
Doesn’t matter how long this video is...this is information and visual examples you won’t get at ease anywhere else. Thanks dude! I don’t regret to subscribe.
Nice, I don't mind if the video is longer. I think it's good to see more design artboards than just one because I feel other states of a website/app are harder to design. It would be cool to see you go deeper with multiple artboards for future projects. Also did you know the distance sketch feature? With a layer selected, hold the Option key and hover over another layer. You will see that Sketch displays the distance between the two layers. When measuring against other layers, you can also hover over the Layer List.
Great vid, man! Have you ever been told you're the Bob Ross of app design tutorials? You reminded me so much, I searched one of Bob's classics just to make sure I wasn't imagining it.
Thanks for the comment William! Yeah, same here! It's my goal this year to make many more videos on a weekly-or biweekly basis. They take some time to produce and I'm already looking at ways to speed up my process while still bringing you guys more valuable content.
Great video! Watching your tutorials is always a pleasure. That app looks pretty cool but I would add one more button like order your coffee on your way or book a table. Would be cool to have in real app :)
I really liked your video Cody. I’m a developer looking forward to learn design. It would be great to see you talking about typography or what colors to use in what situations! Keep it up and upload more ofter :) Thanks!!!!!!!!
Thank you! Here's a video where I talk a little bit more about color in moodboards. Trying to upload every week! ua-cam.com/video/QEbAwTIPexA/v-deo.html
Great job! I have to say this is one of the better tutorials on ui design with Sketch i have seen, and I have seen more than a lot. Really looking forward to seeing a Sketch file animated in AE next! Awesome collaboration! Just a quick question: Once you make each element exportable, do just export the whole dartboard or? Do wish you had spent a little more time on file preparation before importing into AE since this is where I generally have issues with this particular workflow. Anyways keep up the great work! Would love to see more of this collaborative style maybe with websites being animated.
Thanks for the kind words! I would export the whole artboard for reference, as well as each asset on it's own. Then stack the assets on top of the flat image.
Great video Cody! I really like that you're contributing to the community by educating people about UI design! I'm also a beginner designer who'd like to go into UI and UX design. I'll keep up with your social media profiles and channel to stay updated :)
Hey, I enjoy your tutorials! but I have an issue, I just download Sketch and the resources from Apple, but I can't find the iPhone X frame, Is it out of the new version of mac?
I believe it should be in the latest version of Sketch.. If not, there's lots of great resources to get the UI from. Here's one: developer.apple.com/design/resources/
@@voice4israel the latest version of ios libraries(2020 June) from apple doesn't seem to have bezels for iPhone X. Only for iPhone XS and iPad Pro's. Not sure why is that, any place to get old libs?
You prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my login password. I would love any help you can give me
@Miller Kingston I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
You have to go to your original text box within the symbol, make sure that your text box is set up with center alignment. Then anytime you update it should maintain that alignment
For some reason I can't leave a reply comment on your other video(tried twice, but no luck). Just wanted to say that after watching your video I posted my first Dribbble shot made in Sketch. Nothing spectacular, just a holding page for my portfolio, that badly needs a redesign. I plan to code that page in a few days, and then build on that and finally do that portfolio redesign I've been prolonging for so long. Here is the link if you are interested dribbble.com/shots/4055119-Portfolio-Holder p.s. Looking forward to watching your new video tonight. Thanks for making them!
Thanks for the comment! UA-cam for some reason held this comment for me to review and approve, maybe because of the link it probably thought spam. That's awesome to hear, saw your snapshot, looks great! I like that serif font you're utilizing. Glad to have you here, looking forward to seeing the finished product. :D
Hi! Glad that you like the snapshot, I like that serif a lot also, been thinking of were to use it for some time. New video is also great, I am halfway there, super clean instructions from your side, meaning very easy to follow. I don't know if you ever thought about running a Skillshare class? Keeping the smaller ones for youtube, and something a bit more in depth for Skillshare class. Or some other similar site, there are plenty of them as you already know. Nice to see you on Dribbble too :) p.s. I am also looking forward to the finished product, hopefully it will not slip down on my to-do list, as it always does.

Great Job. Loved it
Thanks! :D
So kind of a noob question, but when you are laying out text, to what degree should you follow the font size guidelines from the HIG?
Is there a template available for this video?
How did you drag to other card after you duplicated it?
2:19 how to insert ios ui design??

@@CodyBrownDesign I had the same problem, you have to go on Sketch -> Preferences -> Libraries and then down loading the Apple specific resource
follow this steps:
Insert
Symbols
Apple iOS UI
Device bezels

Thanks man!
I know its a simple task but how did you create a folder and put your common layers in it ex. text layers, shape layers, etc.?
So, when you're actually designing an app do you have to design it for each iPhone size? Or does it auto adjust?
Cool! Very useble tutorial. Just 100% information. definitely subsrcribe
Thanks Alexandr! I appreciate the kind words Thanks for watching :D
ill be waiting for new videos :)
I am using sketch 59.1 anda cant find ios x ui design, how can i get it?

Thanks so much you saved my account!
Hi! Can I download file I phone X frame? Thanks!
you can download here: www.sketchappsources.com/free-source/2882-iphone-x-mask-template-sketch-freebie-resource.html
Thank you so much! It really useful with me
When changing the text in the symbols of the card, it doesn't align it in the middle. Can anyone advise? Thanks!
You have to go to your original text box within the symbol, make sure that your text box is set up with center alignment. Then anytime you update it should maintain that alignment
Thanks for your feedback!
Ioannnify of course! Thanks for tuning in 😎
Would yo mind sharing me the sketch file please?
Thank you so much !!
Can we get the finished product files
Yes, I'll attach a link soon!
