    To follow up on @illroj's question, can you go into more detail about how the Evolution tool works? X Value(x)+Y° Value What do the X and Y values stand for? I get the concept of assigning the number of rotations and the degree of rotation, but when I'm doing a ghost halo effect around an actor and each clip varies in length it's difficult to get consistency between clips. My ideal template is 55f in length, with the Evolution set at 50x180° to start and 53x120° to end. My following clip is 100frames so assigning the same values just makes the halo super fast and clumped. What value would you set? This tutorial was very helpful btw, I just want to know more about how to get precise with the Evolution tool. Thanks for your help!

    Would you be able to make a video where you burn up text or a logo and the embers get blown away? Or if it gets blown away like it was made of sand or smoke? Love your tutorials, they are the best ones I have found for actually teaching me how to do all this stuff and not putting me to sleep. Cheers Chap! :)

    Hi great video, thank you so much for sharing. At 4:12, when you click on the stopwatch near evolution and input time*100, does this affect the overall speed of the evolution only or does it cycle back to it's original position?
    I have a 6 min project that I'm working on and am trying to get as much evolution out of it as possible, but I want it to move faster. When I set the ending key frame to 100, the evolving motion stops before the ending key frame. I will try and input the value as you did in this video when I'm back working on it. Any other suggestions how I could accomplish a long length, fast evolution? Thank you again.

      When we put in that expression we are telling the program to make the value of that property 100 times the value of the current time. So at 1 second the value will be 100. At 2 seconds the value will be 200. At 3 seconds the value will be 300. And so on. So at 6 minutes the value would be 36,000. This is very different from keyframes. If you want the expression to drive the value up faster change the 100 to another number that is higher than 100.

      There's something not sitting right. It works great for a little while, but stops evolving much sooner (about 91 revolutions, about a minute in). The strangest thing because the counter on evolution continues to change, but the motion stops. I'll keep at it. Thank you.

    I'd like your advice. I tried using turbulent noise to cut down my render time, but the additional glow effect I placed on the layer did not show up as well. Is there a reason for this?

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams 4 роки тому

      hard to say, you may just need to adjust the glow's threshold?

    Is there any way to get Fractal Noise with a moving Offset Turbulence to loop?

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams 6 років тому

      I'm not certain you can. You may have to combine a couple overlapping noises that crossfade to get a loop. I might be off base though. I have not cracked open the noise in a long while.

    Hey! Can I make the Turbulent Noise or the Fractal Noise move along with an audio layer?

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams 10 років тому

      It's possible sure. Give it a go.

    • @gabbyvessoni5883
      @gabbyvessoni5883 10 років тому

      Do you know what would I have to link with the audio keyframes to do that?

    • @ECAbrams
      @ECAbrams 10 років тому +1

      Gabby Vessoni depends on what you want the turbulent noise to "do" right? Do you want it to translate? Scale? Become more complex? Become more contrasted? change the evolution to a new temporal phase? You can link it to any of the properties the effect has.

    When I change the fractal noise to Screen, the comp goes white

    Hello! You said that Turbulent Noise is faster than Fractal (the same thing is said in Adobe Help), but many tests in different PCs show that Turbulent Noise is 3-5 times slower than Fractal (CC 2014 and 2015 tested). Where is the trick? Thanks!

      +ECAbrams I understand! :) Didn't want to make any confuse. Maybe you have an info when Fractal Noise became better again? Just confused because Adobe Help still recommend to use TN for faster renders. Anyway thanks for your content!
