I got watch 4 pro to replace my GT3 Pro, it's an amazing looking watch, i love the fact the LTPO display allows proper AOD watch faces. It seems to run two OS on two processors, if you enable low power mode it turns into a GT3, it takes a while to re boot into normal mode when you change it. Ive found some watch faces need to be installed twice, if u want to use them in normal mode and low power mode. Its easily the best looking smartwatch at the moment.
That was a very good choice, I’d say its pretty worth for its value Thats just my opinion though. Has a lot of redeeming qualities for being £499/£500+ honestly
This watch is anything but beautiful, ill stay one more generation with my watch 3 pro. The gt 4 is really nice tough, but the lack of e-sim is a no go
Apart from the ECG feature, the Huawei GT3 Pro does most of these features for much less. Still Saffire crystal, still titanium housing for much less. I am using it daily and it works great. UI looks very similar too.
Got my huawei watch 4 Pro Titanium few days ago and i think its a massive upgrade from the GT 3 Pro Titanium i had. Having had several Apple ones, Amazfit and Garmins, i keep coming back to Huawei as the best, most advanced smartwatch. Just hoping they release the calculated Glucose function here in the UK, as they did with the ECG function last time. Also need to try and find a screen protector ASAP lol. the problem arises when you need to connect an e sim card so that it works on a single number , by no means allows via huawei healt to connect an e sim card that has already been activated on the phone always writes that the provider does not support this option and I see that this is generally a problem in all countries
This is a big problem with this watch. I got it for the esim functionality and as far as I can tell only Vodafone supports it but they have terrible Internet speeds and very poor 5g coverage so I'm reluctant to leave three for them. Looks like it's getting returned which is a shame as its a fantastic watch and so much nicer than those offered by Samsung and Apple...
Doesn't support send or receive phone calls over Wi-Fi which is quite a handy feature when you are at home as you can leave your mobile phone anywhere in the house and of course no Google pay. Compatibility issues as usual with Apple but at least it's somewhat usable unlike Samsung watch. Unfortunately the smart phone space has been captured by Samsung and Apple and they don't want to play with anybody else. Huawei Mobile in our country is basically useless because of their Google play exit. I had the Huawei pro 2 certainly the nicest real looking Smart watch I've ever had, excellent battery life but limited function. I've had an Apple Watch and now currently Samsung5 pro.
I bought the gt3 pro, was promised ECG, NFC etc. None of which ever materialised. I noticed the speaker on the watch had an intermittent fault after buying, then the battery started to drain within one day. I sent it back for repair twice internationally at my expense, both times had the watch back with the exact same fault. Try calling customer service in the UK before you buy because it doesn't exist. Will never ever spend a single penny on devices from this company again. They make specifications look good on paper but reality is very different.
Nice review. I got mine last week & really enjoying it. Does all I need to. It's £500 cause it's made of premium materials. The ticwatch is plastic & metal & will probably only get 2 updates. Huawei give lots & longs updates. How does the watch 4 Pro compare to the Ultimate, Are you going to do a comparison video? The airhorn app is a scream. Just installed & it's a blast.

@@pop-upcardmaker No calendar entries, which is disappointing on a device this price. I didn't use NFC/Google pay on my GW5. So don't miss that. I do miss no calendar though. My GT3 Elite had one, so seems silly this doesn't. Other than that it's a fantastic device.

as ever Huawei make a beautiful watch with a fabulous screen and pretty decent UI, but unless you own a Huawei phone you get very limited interoperability with your emails, calendar and notifications syncing with your phone.
You are so right, such an amazing watch, better than anything else out there in terms of build and design. Unfortunately, I am experiencing first hand the disappointment of the lack of calendar or To do app. I am considering returning mine.

Great review Chris, I've followed you for an age and have progressed from the GT2 to the GT2 Pro and now currently use the GT3 Pro. Is anybody else experiencing terrible battery life since the last upgrade? I used to get a solid 14 days per charge. This had dropped to about 7 days per charge and I haven't added or activated any additional sensors? I was hoping to downgrade the firmware but that's not an option. Any advise/help gratefully received.
Battery life you mention is incorrect. If heart, stress, O2, temperature sensors are all ON and wifi OFF, e-sim not installed, no excersising, no messaging, no AOD, and very limiting use of the watch the max. is 2 days !!!! There is an irritating lag of almost 2 seconds, the curved screen gives irritating reflections and in general the watch reacts slow. Moreover there is no NFC, ECG, e-sim support and blood sugar functions in The Netherlands.

@@dragoda Amazon have a deal on the one with leather strap for £440 but the Ti strap is really nice and you won't be able to buy the ti strap later on. I paid the full £550 for the Ti strap version.

Likely to be an unpopular opinion, but... What is the point? It's not a watch, its a phone your wear on your wrist. So why not just use your phone? And if you want a watch buy a watch from a company that makes watches. If you want a fitness tracker built in get a G-Shock GBD 200 - its a fantastic watch. I tried a smartwatch and no matter how much I WANTED to have one it was a total wase of money.

Dear Chris My problem with Huawei GT3 Pro and the GT Runner was, that the media control always disappear when not used for a short time (30 sec - 1 min) or when the display turns off. When I was operated my media player on the phone from the watch, this was so annoying with Huawei Watch. Every time when I wanted to switch the track, I had to go to the menu and select the media control menu, each time I like to use it, because after short time when I raised my hand the dial was coming back at the display. No other Smartwatch here (Apple Watch, TicWatch Pro or Oppo Watch) have the same weird behavior, only the Huawei. Is the behavior the same with the media control on the new Huawei Watch 4 Pro? I bought the Watch 4 and the sleep tracking is terrible. I was already snoring and the watch started tracking 2 hours later. This happens so much often. Not sure what can be done to improve the accuracy

Looks good, tried the Huawei band 5, it was pretty nice, good functions, in the end it was too much of a hassle to keep it charged. I'd rather stock with my G Shock

@@avi770 Huwaei NFC cant be used for bank cards in the uk and I doubt it ever will. Personally when I had that feature on a galaxy watch I only used it once just to try it, I find it easier to use my phone.
Love the watch really premium i have one with the leather strap and advice do not to buy the leather strap it's horrible the colour is absolutely shit does gives you impression it's actually fake leather for £500 its absolutely no no no. Otherwise the screen the battery life it's good, this is my fourth day not heaviest use and I still have 60%. I use signal app and u can only read msg shame. Huawei watches were always cheap. At this pricepoint you might as well get a good apple watch or forerunner265. More functions, also apple and garmin pay actually work in western countries. In my country not even the Huawei ECG works. Also why get this over the GT3Pro for half the price? same sensors and 80% is same. Battery is also not impressive.

The GT3 also has ECG in the UK.
The 4 pro has longer battery life in low power mode and looks nicer with a LTPO screen it has better AOD watch faces.

Its a bit more involved than that, I remember the work around to get the ECG on the gt3 pro in the uk before it was official? It was alot of hassle.

Huwaei NFC cant be used for bank cards in the uk and I doubt it ever will.
Personally when I had that feature on a galaxy watch I only used it once just to try it, I find it easier to use my phone.

Love the watch really premium i have one with the leather strap and advice do not to buy the leather strap it's horrible the colour is absolutely shit does gives you impression it's actually fake leather for £500 its absolutely no no no. Otherwise the screen the battery life it's good, this is my fourth day not heaviest use and I still have 60%. I use signal app and u can only read msg shame. Huawei watches were always cheap. At this pricepoint you might as well get a good apple watch or forerunner265. More functions, also apple and garmin pay actually work in western countries. In my country not even the Huawei ECG works. Also why get this over the GT3Pro for half the price? same sensors and 80% is same. Battery is also not impressive.

From what i hear, it's really poor but I suppose the battery life of most smart watches are absolute dog turd.
It will last about 12 days with AOD on when on low power mode.
Much longer than my GT3PRO
