That's a good question! I tend to break my title page, copyright, dedication, and any other applicable "front matter" into their own documents so they'll show up in the TOC (other things could be maps, world sayings, and the pronunciation guide). Since this was me trying to do a quick walkthrough, I didn't go into those details.
Thanks for the run through. Question, do you create different files for the copyright and cover page? Mine seem to run into each other in the reflowable file.
That's a great question! Yes, I do make separate files for the copyright and cover page. I find that's the safest way to ensure they don't run into each other as you've found.
This is strictly for exporting to epub. If you export a file like this to PDF, it'll be the wrong setup for printing. I can do another video showing the process of how I set up my print files if that would be helpful!
Thank you for this video, Susan! So helpful. Now maybe I can finally get my book converted to an ebook.
Damn, this was bloody helpful without being hours-long like the other guys! Muchos gracias, Susan!
So glad to hear it was helpful! (And succinct!)
You simplified this so well! Thank you!
Clearest I have seen. Thanks. Question. Where is the copyright info?

Very helpful. Thanks for walking us through this process.
Thank you! New to Indesign, working on my 1st ebook atm, your video is very informative and well presented! 🙏
I'm so glad to hear that! I hope your first ebook goes smoothly for you! (Mine only kind of did. Lots of trial and error involved in the process).
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for this!
AWESOME!!!!!!!
Hi thanks for that - you in fact import as one big file and make the titles check for ebook then TOC works great.

@@susanlmarkloff That was my work around as well. Great vid before. Thanks!
What if this is output to PDF?

@@susanlmarkloff Yes please that would be excellent. If you can do one showing the process for a PDF. I just want to create a PDF lead magnet.
