I haven't been able to work up the courage to comment until today... but I want to say how much your program means to me!
I'm autistic. A big issue with me is that there are a lot of foods I just don't like. Texture, taste, smell, appearance...If something isn't to my liking even a little, I just can't eat it. 27 years of being a picky eater. A couple years ago... I discovered that I really like the flavors of Japanese food. So I decided to learn to cook it! It's been really hard. There are still a lot of things I can't eat, no matter how hard I try. But I'm getting better...!
Your program inspired me to try harder! I've only tried making a couple things you've cooked. But, watching you learn... It makes me want to learn. To try new things. To like new things. I've had a lot of success! And a lot of failure too... but I really have learned to like more things! I haven't made saba-miso yet, but simple broiled mackerel has quickly become my favorite food on the planet. (And I don't even like fish!)

What I like the most about this channel is that I'm learning along with Hiro-san. It's not the typical show with "hi, I'm a celebrity and i have to do everything to perfection" I think that's what inspires me and actually I've done a few recipes!!! 🥰
