I’ve been thinking about getting back to my island on and off for weeks now but this is my sign to do it (I’m already overwhelmed at the thought of everything I have to look after and clean up after being offline for a year 😵💫).

Oh yes I still play I have restated my islands a few times each the thought of re starting makes it's fresh you have never restarted your island if I noticed it's a great way to get back into it . But that's me nice island
Just the other day, I hit 50 days on game.
The next day, it somehow reset and I was upset. I make sure to log on to do the basics everyday. It’s part of my last 50 days, so I have been playing everyday. It’s so fun and relaxing.

I still play but there are times when I walk away from the game for like 6+ months. I’ve been playing it more recently just designing my front yard and taking care of crops and the island

Have you been playing New Leaf a lot? 😄 Since you're scared that villagers moved away, which they don't do in New Horizons. It also doesn't have fake rocks. They all give something. One money rock, the rest materials. New Leaf has those things, though.
