  • I was bored so I made a video dedicated to kickoff and punt returns for scores. These are ones I had copies of. There are several others (like Steve Breaston's kickoff against Minnesota and Martavius Odums' punt against Purdue) that I don't have.

    Derrick Alexander is the most underrated wr/kr in Michigan football history. Most young Michigan fans these days probably wouldn't know him but growing up in Ann Arbor in the 90s us kids loved him, and of course Desmond, who cast a very large shadow.

      He was a great receiver and kick returner even if Desmond outshone him a bit

    I watched the tribute vids for the running backs and never heard of wheatley as he was before my time of watching Michigan but after seeing these vids, I would say he’s probably the best running back Michigan has had the last 50 years.

      He was fun to watch. Back when they played more for pride than just NFL Draft stock. If you haven't seen it, check out Biakabutuka running against Ohio state.

      He's top 3 all time at Michigan depending on who u talk to. For me his number one . 53 total tds. He could return kicks . Catch the ball and go 70. Or just dash off tackle and go 80.

    I was a student and season ticket holder for all these games in the early 90s. Amazing time. Years later I was sking in new York . On the chair lift, I was sitting next to a lady who asked where I was from. When I said Michigan, she said her son in law went to um, and asked if I knew him. I said, well um is a big school. She said he was QB Elvis gerbac

    If there was one thing Desmond took with him to the NFL is Kickoff returns.

    They need to get those old uniforms from the '80s and '90s.

    4:25 That call on Alexander's punt return is the least exciting call for a kick return that I have ever heard.

    Didn't Anthony Carter have some returns for scores? I believe his first time touching the ball as a Wolverine was a punt return for a score

    @ 00:24: THAT'S the kind of crowd I miss at the Big House. I don't know what's happened to us over the years, but nowadays you can hear a pin drop in the stands. What happened to all the fan hysteria? Oh, to go back to THOSE days.

    Big Ten Network is playing the 2005 Minnesota game this Monday night and will repeat it at least once.
    I know you don't collect losses but you might want to tape that play.

    @giantkiller56 I'm a student here, so yeah. The Big House isn't built to hold in noise, it is just a hole in the ground. Why do we need some stupid gimmick to be considered good fans? That's just stupid. I suppose you want a mascot too? And we do have something where all the fans get involved, the wave. 114,000 person wave is pretty tricky.

      Hey chin up man. You know who is worse at football according to this vid? Indiana. Indiana got schooled by Michigan's regular DB.

    The first one just reminds me of yet another game where MSU won on horse-ass shenanigans right at the end. Is there a blog somewhere that discusses these sorts of "wins?"

  • @giantkiller56
    @giantkiller56 12 років тому +1

    @MLDWoody Seriously? Have you been to a Michigan game lately? Maybe it's because of the lack of "big games" on our schedule...I dunno...but the noise level at the Big House is not commensurate with its size. Also, there isn't a universal crowd involvement. Wisconsin has "Jump Around." Florida has their chomp. Michigan has silence. It's a pretty sad sight for the country's largest attendance.

    • @waynewalton8798
      @waynewalton8798 2 роки тому

      It's because of how the stadium is built the noise goes up and out. It doesn't reflect at The Players. But that Ohio State game this year that place was rocking. How many procedure penalties they had because of the crowd noise.

  • @giantkiller56
    @giantkiller56 12 років тому

    @MLDWoody According to researchers, the new addition should adequately capture sound now. We shall see. But, yeah, audience involvement is definitely necessary to capture the full game experience. If some rallying tool is needed (a "stupid gimmick", as you put), so be it. Michigan's size is...and always will be...impressive. But 114,000 people on mute is less fulfilling than 30,000 screaming fans. In this humble commentator's opinion, anyway.
