  • Great start to a restoration project, or ride it as is. This bike came from a local estate auction a few months ago. It had been sitting for many years. We've done a few things to it, cleaned it up a little, and got it running. It is being sold as is, and you'll most likely want to do more to it. But it does start and run, and we've ridden it around our lot. It has a clear title, and the odometer shows 7478 miles.
Cosmetics: It has plenty of rust and crust throughout. Tank is original paint, but has lots of little tiny blister like rust bubbles under the paint. Inside the tank was very rough and rusty. We derusted it, repaired a few pinholes, and put a KBS tank liner inside. The interior surface is still rough looking, but holds gas. The front fender is bent a little at the front. The seat is original but has some black tape covering a tear on the left side. We did repaint the exhaust in Hi-Temp PJ1 matte black.
Mechanicals: Engine has good compression and runs well. Trans and clutch shift well and goes thru all gears. The original carb was toast, so we sourced a used original DT3 carb off ebay. It had a base gasket leak, so we installed a new cylinder base and head gasket. New exhaust gaskets. New drive chain. New air filter foam. New battery. New trans oil. We adjusted the oil injection pump and verified it is working properly, cleaned the petcock, and cleaned / gapped / timed the ignition points. It usually starts on the 1st or 2nd kick now. The tires are old but hold air. Headlight bulb is 12volt, so its very dim...needs correct 6v bulb. Turn signals and bar switches were missing when we got it. Handlebars are bent. Cables all look original, but function properly.
