You should take three of these and sell it as one batch. Everyone needs small buildings like these .you could do two sets a year and never catch up to the kit of the month production. I don't believe the kit of the month people would mind if it was far enough behind and in sets of three. Anyway a great video I don't know how all of these ideas keep coming.

Thanks for showing how you work !!! I enjoy seeing your models/kits although they are from a different time period and place than I model which is small town1914. Assuming that is AutoCAD LT which is what I started with but moved on to Rhino 3D back in 2003 so I could design for 3D printing. Great to see you starting with sketches ! Looking forward to more of your videos!

Great video Doug! I’ve always wondered how these kits were designed and built. I’ve done many sketches of my own and understand completely about mental drafting blocks as you try to design architectural elements. Enjoyed watching these techniques with better comprehension. Thank you for sharing these finer elements of the hobby.

It's really cool seeing the design process, and for somebody like me who can't draw a straight line, it's especially enlightening to see how "easy" it is for your mind to sketch new and unique creations. Love the Kit-of-the-Month club!

Doug, great insight into your creative process, very impressive.
Then the process of translating a sketch into an actual cut piece of scale lumber. Wow, sooo cool.
Thank you for sharing, cheers, and stay safe, Michael

This is a lot like how I compose music. At least, if I'm doing an art song, I'm working from the poem I chose to set, I have to stay within the vocal range of the voice type (or, if I'm composing for a specific singer, their vocal nuances). Sometimes it writes itself, other times it takes weeks.

Cool video Doug, would you be open to offering any mid century modern, specifically googie style buildings? I know it doesn’t really fit your line of kits, but there is a huge void in the hobby for that style of architecture.
