I too got teary-eyed seeing the legend Dick Van Dyke. My favorite of him is his work in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and his old bamboo dance. WOW! Glad there's going to be Mary Poppins attraction to UK!
This brought tears how awesome. Love ❤️ Dick priceless gem
This was the best announcement of the whole weekend , it fits the uk pavilion area , it’s true Disney and not some IP they are trying to use to increase attendance The best announcement in a long time .
repboy1 Very well said!!!!!
Although they are theming it to the new movie and not the classic.
true disney? didn't the butcher the original story and the author hated it?
Only came here to hear Ryno's reaction to this. Did not disappoint. #Wooooo

😭😭😭😭❤️my heart!! Dick Van Dyke is such a treasure! I just finished the last season of the DvD show last night. I’ve seen that show numerous times in my life and it’s always great.
Cherry Tree Lane will be amazing and beautiful and I’m weepy thinking about it. Mary Poppins has always been my very favorite Disney movie and this just makes me feel like a child all over again. I’m glad that Disney is bringing Epcot forward with these changes...this news is fantastic.. so I gotta step in time and dance💃🌂🐧
Awesome! Also, Dick Van Dyke is such a joy to watch in any medium.
Mary Poppins was one of the on TV Movies that we were allowed to eat dinner in front of the TV and later have popcorn when it was shown each year as I was growing up in the from the mid 70s through the 80s. It was one of 3 Movies shown each year that my parents let us have that special treat otherwise it was the tv can be turned on in the other room and you can listen to the first part and once your done go and watch. So excited to see an attraction coming based on this.
I got goosebumps!! It’s about time👍🏼👍🏼
mary poppins wasn’t my childhood but i’m sure old people (lol) will love it
That was the neatest thing ever! Thank you Dis for sending out this video
WOOOOOO!!!!! Can’t wait!!! I would have been sobbing if I was in that room lol 😅
He is a national treasure
Universal: Harry Potter land will emerse everyone!
Disney: hold my beer
(Makes Star Wars Land)
Universal: Nintendo is a place the whole world will love
Disney: give me sec.
The live stream I was watching during this announcement completely went BLANK! The person filming it knocked their camera over in excitement. Lol. So THANK YOU for posting this!!👍I wanted to see Van Dyke too!☺ Lol. Just had to "Step BACK in Time"! 😉🎵🎶
MARRRYYYY!!
This area wouldn’t hold
the same emotions of nostalgia and wonder if it were based on the new movie. The new movie was well done but if you want even the older generations to feel like kids again, and get a tear of joy from older guests, we need the original Mary Poppins that started it all. Plus the music from the new movie does not hold the same emotion that the original score brings. The new Mary poppins is wacky and fun but the original is practically perfect in every way.
I love how Disney is advancing EOCOT, it will be a better park with a lot of wonderful attractions. Cant wait!!!👍😁
I’m super excited! 💕
10 more hours of WHOOOOOOOOOOOO
Love love LOVE!!!!!
This sounds so cool!!
That was awesome!
So exciting!
YES!!!!!!!
YES!!!!
THIS IS THE BEST
I literally teared up when Dick walked on stage. So amazing.
I just came for the woooo’s
Was that Ryno whoooing??? I bet he was a bit verklempt when he saw Mr. Van Dyke!
Great, so what is the attraction?
WOOOOOOO LOL
So... it's a ride? It's a walk thru? It's TBD?
Boy, I hope nothing shitty happens next year…
That's not enough. I want more than just to see the buildings from the movie. I want to see an attraction.
The Banks' home will be the entrance to the attraction is what I understand. So, it will be mor than just the buildings.
How can you make this an attraction? We're riding umbrella's? It will be like the Peter Pan ride. This is the stupidest idea for a ride.
@@insaneone4369 I imagine they'll be revisiting Tony Baxter's idea for a Mary Poppins ride where we ride the carousel horses and fly off the carousel into several scenes from the movie (so, very much like Peter Pan and other similar dark rides). I really hope they'll bring out Mr. Baxter from retirement to work on the Mary Poppins attraction since he had this idea since he was in college!
some of these comments.. like y’all are miserable people. but i ain’t repping too hard for no company so go ahead. but honestly the thesis’s y’all writing is hurting you more 😭
Bob Chapek should have put his Chairman high horse platform aside for another 5 mins and allowed Dick to make the announcement of Cherry Tree Lane. Absolutely disgusting and inconsiderate. Shame on you!
True, however it's cancelled as of uncertainty. It would had to happen had he did it.
"Mary Poppins" is almost 55 years old, not 65! It was released on August 27, 1964. The fact that a Disney executive doesn't know such a simple fact is indicative of the company's irreverence toward Mary Poppins. This very irreverence is what led to Disney making such an appalling sequel 54 years after the release of the original. I might also add that Dick Van Dyke and the Disney executive also discussed the timelessness of the original film. Exactly! The original, nearly 55 years later, remains a timeless classic. If Disney truly views "Mary Poppins" as such, then the company would not have made such an utterly dreadful sequel.
Here's my review of the sequel.
Not as good as the original. In fact, it sucks. The real problem is the film's failure to do its own magic and give life to what's on screen. Forgettable songs, DREADFUL casting and acting, and a worthless plot.
A great cast wasted. Foiled by shoddy, humorless writing, completely over the top dance numbers, ill-conceived plot with unnecessary nonsensical CGI-filled scenes, convoluted and forgettable musical compositions. Not to mention that Mary has shifted from sweet and sympathetic to the cold and aloof nanny from the original books. I truly dislike Emily Blunt in this role.
The sets are also beautifully detailed but what happened to the fireplace mantle?
Overall this "movie" lacks Mary Poppins' original magic and I DO NOT recommend watching it at all. Save your money and don't waste your time.
disney honored the original author and made mary like the one in the books in the sequel and y’all hated it... take it up w/ old home boy author and not disney then lmao
