Enjoyed the reaction larry. Oops I mean chris (I should know that by now lol). Joyner is an incredible story teller. His ROSS CAPICCHIONI is an insane TRUE STORY from my home state here in michigan
You do know that, that’s why it’s in your comment 🤡
LARRY AND JELLY......What a wonderful saturday❤💙💜🧡💛💚
I’m not mad addiction is a symptom of the overall disease of mental health issues. However what I tell my kid “it’s not your fault but it is your responsibility “. Meaning what happened in your life isn’t always your fault but it is your responsibility
Hi Chris, addiction is so terrible. How it changes your life forever and even if/when you overcome the addiction you have to be on your guard for the rest of your life to not fall into the old habits and addiction.
Awesome reaction Chris and hope you have a really great Easter!
Hi Rich hope all is going good for you 🤗
@@Sandy_justme Hi Sandra, all is good for now. Hope you are doing fine as well. 🙂
That’s truly good to hear😊 I’m ok Thanku, very thankful for finding Chris and this lovely community. It’s so encouraging when you see how others have been/going through all sorts of things and are winning the battle, even when it’s 2steps forward and 1 step back. it’s giving me strength to keep going
Sending some love your way Rich
Sandy🤗
@@richv.1594 happy Easter!!
Be blessed❤
Addiction is not always about getting the next high. It’s usually about forgetting trauma. I am a 42-year-old mother of five children who grew up with an addicted mom and I have been so careful my whole life to not in the same track she got stuck in. but I have trauma and so I can see how people want to escape sometimes. But I don’t excuse it. My mother passed away and November due to complications from her years and years of addiction. I just don’t want anyone to think that addiction is only about getting high.more than likely it’s about forgetting reality.
Very true.
W. love to see you back man
Please listen to Ross Capicchioni by Joyner Lucus. Its a storytelling song based on a real story and theres a music video to go with it!
When Ross was 17 year old, he was shot - to be killed - by his close friend. He was then left to die in the outskirts of the city he lived in, Detroit. But through sheer determination and a will to survive, Ross would battle on for his dear life.
Glad to see your still at it 😊
Hey @larryshair great reaction! I think this is the first reaction of yours that i've seen and I really enjoyed it. love this song and wanted to leave you with a couple of thoughts:
On the subject of addiction... I think the idea that "it's just about choices" is at best unhelpful and at worst a gross oversimplification of a complex issue. When we talk about addiction we are talking about physiological and chemical dependency on a substance. and I don't think we can reconcile it just being choices, when it is the mechanism of the condition to override your rational thought.
on the subject of addiction being a disease... I honestly don't know if it is or not because that's just a word that has a definition, and I feel like what people mean when they say it and the literal definition are not necessarily the same thing. speaking as someone with a (possibly) terminal disease, I do see the difference between the two. however, having lived the first half of my life with a close family member who suffered from alcoholism and seeing first hand his inability to make a rational decision to stop, I can also recognize the helplessness I saw in his situation with what I feel in my own. there is some level of overlap.
Agreed. What I mean by it not being a disease and comes down to a choice is technically a true statement. Other diseases such as cancer are discovered through symptoms or periodic check ups. The decision to enter into the fray of drug or alcohol use is indeed a decision that can segue into a physical dependence, which then becomes more of an addiction that started with a choice and ended with something that can easily be defined as a "disease" of sorts, but I think you and I can agree that the use of that word may not be the best fit for that description.
After hearing this song when it first came out I literally went back and rewatched your eminem reactions and thought that your reaction to this song would be amazing.
Great surprise for me after opening UA-cam and seeing this on my home page!
Hey old friend, its been a minute but i had to see this reaction.
Welcome back!
Chris, your words are beyond wise. You're truly a Godsend. Much love and blessings to you and yours ❤ patti

@@that_averagetyp Hugs to you too!!!🤗
You are so kind. I'm humbled.
First of... Happy Easter to all! 🐣😊
I can't share any stories about addiction because I only got hooked on some pain pills for couple months and smoking for about 10 years. I haven't even touched the cigarette for 15 months now thanks to you Chris 😊
Loved the reaction so freaking much! Many people needs to hear your wisdom bud.
You given up smoking!! OH YES!!! 🙌👏👏👏kudos to you my dear friend!!!🤗
@@Sandy_justme I had to... I promised it to Chris... and I can't let my "Dad" down 😁
I threw the whole pack into the trash right after I promised I'm gonna quit and never touched a single cigarette since then 😊
Love that! Not to mention the costs of the smokes!
Not sharing too much here but this song hits me.
Lost my first partner to addiction at 25. Grief was the catalyst as well as other situational aspects but I saw the abyss develop, couldn't help.
Loved them but had to let them go as the song says.
I hope those struggling find peace. You're worth it.
Thanks Chris.
I'm so sorry but thankful that you shared. I'm sure many will see your story. Blessings my friend.
This reaction reminded me why I love your content. I appreciate you speaking so sincerely on this tough subject. I hope all is well.🙏🏻
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Man, I really enjoy watching your videos the way you explain stuff and express its real man!

@@Sandy_justmeMissing my estranged sons today.
Holidays are always hard😢
I'm so sorry. Estrangement don't always last forever. Praying.
Great reaction video! Have been a longtime fan of both Joyner & Jelly, but this song/video is just next level!
The guy acting as the 'addict' is an old friend of Joyner's named Mic Devine. They lost their friend Dave to an OD. Mic wrote a song called "Way Down We Go" in tribute. It's said that song was the inspo for Joyner's song. Mic's song is worth checking out - ua-cam.com/video/_8TcfQriKu4/v-deo.htmlsi=4OSRWWJoPeXz_m-w
Aww good to see you💗
Edit: watched it now. Wow! Once again such wise words!! 🩷 “faithful are the wounds of a friend”
😉
❤❤❤

I wish you would listen to the second part again... please
Addiction is a disease because it physically changes your brain. The same as heart disease, yes, you cause it, but it is a disease. I feel like you thought this whole song was about the friend being in the right, and the addict being wrong, but it is meant to show that the relationship between the 2 isn't right for each other. The friends ways don't help the addict, and the addict isn't doing what the friend wants. Second verse is a perfect example of how there is a line between talking to, and down to someone, and what the addict really needs to help, vs what he is given. Good reaction, I just don't like addiction not being recognized as disease, when it meets every requirement, just seems like a lack of info from a lot of reactors
I wanna record a live reaction for ur channel with you so we can bounce opinions off each other and ima fan man. It would be great content. I think we agree on a lot
Hiya mate how's things?
I'm J-A-W-43 i also have a youtube channel and just recently have literally become a official youtuber ( a partner of youtube yeahhh 🎉🎉🎉)
I drink beer and I'd even call myself an alcoholic 😢
The reason I drink is i suffer with schizophrenia and it helps me with the voices
I also suffer with depression and extreme OCD what a hattrick ey 😂😅
I'm trying my hardest to fight this battle for my beautiful wife and son
I really like your channel god bless you 🙏
Praying for ya! Keep fighting! You've got this! 💪😊
@that_averagetyp cheers mate I appreciate it god bless 🙌 🙏
This struggle is a hard one, but not an impossible one. Praying you find that determination and strength to make it through this.
I got to be honest as a recovering alcoholic a lot of this reaction bothered me. I fully understand where you were coming from and agree that everyone needs to be accountable. But the condescension is what can drive some people away.
I understand what you're trying to say, but you can't expect most true alcoholics to go cold turkey on an island with no means of medical attention. No way that will end well
Totally unrelated to this, but I figured out why you hate country and love Home Free. The country instruments are what make it over the top. Home Free is like a slight twang over hip hop beats.
And brain fart now. Leaving. Hopefully you get a 4.0 on God's report card?
Yup! When forgiven and I need perfect, Jesus competed that on the cross not only for me, but for you was well. Keep digging.
