I just assembled one. One small suggestion: before you fire it up, take off the cleanout hatch and look if anything fell in.

bought this yesterday; mine will require even more assembly; the hopper isn't even attached to mine! Supposedly comes with the needed tools; we'll see!
Wow u been had, if I were u I would call the manager and explain the situation and return it for 1 that is properly assembled in the box, just saying hope u enjoy and it meets your expectations it did for us

Yeah, I was thinking about assembly also so I put my thinking cap on got on FB found one only used for 8 hrs at $225.00 all assembled ready to go, I even asked the guy if he greased the axles wheels and yes he did because if he didn't that's the only modification I was going to make to the assembly. I mean $225.00!!!
I've watched a couple assembly videos years apart and noticed some were partially assembled

Bought this shredder - what a piece of junk. First time - didn't work. Exchanged it - missing parts. Exchanged it again - faulty operation. Went to return it, they wanted a $30% restocking fee that no one told me about. Manager hung phone up and told me I as dishonest and refused to give me her boss' number. I will NEVER buy anything from Harbor Freight again - cheap tools that break and aren't worth saving $10. By the way - bought both shreders they offer - the small one is weaker than a paper shredder the bigger one is unsafe and very hard to operate - especially since they don't tell you you have to hire a professional mechanic to install the high altitude kit. This company is very dishonest.
WOW!!! Sorry to hear that, I have heard stories like that before, luckily we have never experienced that, but it can be hit or miss on their stuff at times, and it is buyer beware on others, for the savings we get it is worth a little risk at times, I had heard of the restocking fee thing before, and depending on the item to me if its worth the hassle, I can always use a little more yard art, I hope you have better luck in the future, and thank you for watching!!!
