Thanx Brian. Looks great. Not only do I come at lighting design from a mobile and club DJ perspective but also from a rock and roll stage perspective I've done a lot of installs and put together several mobile lighting systems. I Always try to buy fixtures I can use either way. One weekend I may be doing a family BBQ with dancing and another weekend I may be doing a town street festival providing lighting for a stage. I have to get a lot of BANG for my BUCK because I also may have to light a fashion show run way the week after that. I would love to see a video of a stage set up with 4 Dotz Tpar, 2 with Sweeper Beams and 2 with Event Bars. That would be a great base to start from giving you great color wash coverage and some cool beam effects. From there add what you like. Some nice rotating Moonflowers, some Inno Pocket Spots and a nice liquid sky laser effect. If the Inno Pocket Scan had the same guts as the Pocket Spot I would mount them to the uprights of the Dotz Tpar stands (ADJ has all kinds of great O clamps now) I would love to see this system fully DMXed out but would also like to see what it could do with just the built in programs using the wireless remotes that come with the fixtures.
Brian - I LOVE this idea. I had a question though, can you mount the newer ADJ Event Bar Q4 with mulitcolored LEDs upside down on top of the Dotz Tpar system?
Now that's hot. U like this look better. You don't have that rainbow circus like the sweeper beam gave out. Will a small moving head like an x move or anything its class go on the dotz system?
Can the mounting bracket on the Adj Dotz par system be moved to the top so the Dotz are on top? I'd like to hang two moving heads from the bar instead of sticking them on top. Is it possible?
Oh boy. Not too sure about how much that's moving on top of the TBar. I feel like someone could just lightly bump into it and you've got a bit of a mess on your hands. Really cool idea though!
Noticed a bit of sway, to be expected with the moving heads, just wondering if you have had a chance to raise the tripod pole up? If so, how was the sway?
I know people have mentioned the sway - Wondered if it would be any less if the ADJ Dotz Tpar was on top and the Event Bar was on the bottom (i.e. upside down to how you have it currently?)
Oh it's tight. There is just a lot of torque on the heads of the Event Bar Pro. Just about any light to medium duty tripod mount will give you a bit of sway. I could have used a heavy duty tripod, but the ceiling clearance in the dungeon won't allow the height unfortunately
briansredd indeed I understand cool place that dungeon by the way. I have all my lighting gear in my garage hanging on special screws they are on one side a wood screw and the other side is a bolt and nut system. The only drawback is its a garage! Cold in winter hot in summer and rain is so loud on the flat roof. music is disturbed by mega annoying noise
You can become one. Just realize it won't be handed to you. It takes a lot of hard work but its fun hard work. I started out with a pair of consumer grade, belt drive turntables and a radio Shack mixer back in the '80s, doing house parties for my friends. I later started mixing sound and running lights for my buddies garage band. I then became a mobile karaoke host and later a resident club jock. Now I'm back mobile and I do as many lighting rentals as I do DJ gigs. Just remember to treat DJing as a job, a skill and a business and you will be successful and have fun doing it. The best advice I can give new DJs is learn your equipment, learn music (genres and history and billboard charts) Go to used record stores and go on crate digs. Mostly learn how to have fun even when you are spinning songs you hate and songs you are SOOOO tired of. You will wind up just fine.
Go for it Christian, as Brain always proves in his amazing videos the only difference between the possible and the impossible is the amount of effort your prepared to put in. I started DJing in March 2013 at the age of 40! Check out my latest gig log, after 1 year. Brain great videos on this DOTZ TPAR

I love your videos so much! You help me as a DJ with all of your tips and videos. Anxiously waiting for your next video! Thanks Brian!!
Both of those ideas are very cool! Gonna need to invest in that for sure ...

Yeah you can put anything up there that you like. Videos like these are just to get you thinking about applications, and I see it's working :)

i like it. keep up the good work...
I am a small DJ and wanting to start doing gigs. Any recommendations of speakers For around $300?
Brian what is that clip bracket you had attached to the event bar!?
Eventbar Comes with it, it's made, I think, specifically for that system and other adj systems too
Do they just shine at the ceiling?
Maybe tight the screws a little more it wobbles a lot when the moving heads move
