As usual, a great video Luke! I just purchased a new 2019 Wildcat XX LTD and when I first saw it I was floored by the "overbuilt everything" about the machine! I have been a mechanic/fabricator for well over 40 years and this thing is damn impressive!! I have owned and driven everything from dirt bikes to quads and side by sides. My mechanic hands forced me away from quads sadly but luckily into side by sides. My first was a 2012 Polaris RZR XP 900......that was a love hate relationship! Love to ride it but hated the never ending repairs on things that should have been much more durable! My new wildcat XX destroys my old RZR in ever way! I did much research on all the available machines out there and when I finally sold my RZR (thank God) I decided on a Wildcat XX. It's nice to have the backing of an aircraft company TEXTRON (knowledge and money) when building an all new machine. This ain't your Fathers Arctic Cat!!!! Many haters will say its the same junk. I'm here to tell you open your eyes and take another look!! Some complain its heavy. Well real large size steel and heavy duty building will weigh a little more. But you don't feel the extra weight. The roll cage is all but RACE LEGAL with a few tabs welded!! The strong big tube cage continues throughout the whole machine even underneath and behind the plastics, where other companies drop the size down. The power steering is perfect with no bad feedback at all!15" rims and 30" tires are standard! HUGE control arms in front and HUGE trailing arms in the rear! And NO puny radius rods to bend or break! Huge wheel bearings and double sheer everything!! No puny ball joints either, they use heim joints. Full complete doors inside and out with automotive style latches. No need to buy a bunch of accessories like a tire mount. The LTD comes with front and rear bumpers, 1/4 windshield, a deluxe bimini top, and a 400 watt Bluetooth stereo with Kicker speakers! Spare mounts in the bed with a large wingnut/lug wrench. Team built differential, trans-axle, and clutches with a large belt. And of course a YAMAHA triple that's been tested and used for years. On the 2019 you get 130 horsepower with a factory installed set of cams that make this thing lope like a Harley!! Haha Oh, and by the way, this thing ROCKS!! It's the highest horsepower N/A machine and it feels like it! No, it's not a turbo but it's right there with all the other N/A machines! It's their first machine....give them a bit...the turbo model will dominate all!!
The Wildcat XX is built tough and to last! Simply put, this thing is a great ride! Please keep up the great vids!

keepitmoving just about the whole machine is the same from 2018-19 with a few exceptions. There are many performances items out already and many more on the way. Mufflers, headers, turbos, tie rods, spring sets, lift kits, mirrors, even fender flares and stereos and more!

J R not sure what your friend is doing but I pound mine threw West VA mountains, mud, rocks, and rivers and no problems so far! Many of my friends are now racing the Wildcat XX on California and Arizona and are having little to no problems.
This machine is light years ahead of my 2012 RZR XP 900!! The newer Polaris machines are much better than the old but still have, after 11 years, a few quirks.
If you really take a look at all the choices and compare piece by piece, you will see the huge difference between the Wildcat XX and all of the others. There will always be haters and keyboard warriors out there but I looked at all the choices and did in-depth research and phone calls for 1 1/2 years before deciding on the Textron. After 7 years of repairing my Polaris after every ride, the last 5 months driving the Wildcat has been an amazing experience! I haven’t had to repair anything yet and am so happy with it, and not having to fix it, I bought some new wheels and tires for it!!!! It’s nice wrenching on my machine because I want to add accessories and not because I have to replace broken parts!!!
Can’t wait to see the turbo models come out!!

      Still love my 2019 XX!!!
The only things that have broken have been from me hitting a tree haha
And that only knocked the steering box mount loose!
Tightened it back up and rode two more days! It’s so nice to ride and not worry. And it handles like a slot car! Amazing ride and I’m still in stock shocks/springs!
Many aftermarket items are available now. 775 Fabrication is a great place.
I quickly switched from stock tires/rims to 32” Maxxis Carnivores! Stock tires were too “slippery” for my riding. And ITP wheels (lifetime warranty!). I’m now at 70” wide from rim offset and it’s a blast to take corners in 4 wheel drive! Pulls you through a turn like no other!
I pound my XX in West VA, NC, PA, and VA mountains through mud, water, rocks, and trails with no worries!Maintenance is key!
Keep the oil changed and that Yammy engine will scream for years! I run Redline Heavy Shockproof 75w250 gear oil in both the transaxle and front differential. No problems at 2500 miles!
The new 2022’s are even better! Get one of them with the new ADAPT clutches!
The transaxle has been updated and the rear axles too.
SO EASY TO WORK ON when you need to service!
Clean your clutches often for long life.
Unless you enjoy ear bleeding noise, leave the muffler on! These things are noisy! There are only two quiet mufflers made aftermarket if you must change it. All others are stupid loud.
Very rugged machine. The only things I’ve changed from wear are the spherical bearings (ball joints) and outer tie rods. Mainly from me drowning it in mud and water ha but they lasted a long time. Everything else, including the bushings, are still tight!
If you ride desert, hard pack, dirt trails, logging trails and such, you won’t touch much on the XX. If you like to slam through mud holes, deep water, rocks, and mountains, you will eventually like all other machines have to replace a few things.
There are a few things I would do soon after purchase just for preventive maintenance/upgrade... if the factory hasn’t already upgraded it, install a brass bushing to the drivers side of the steering box. I did and mine box is doing fine at 2500 miles. Steering box braces are nice too.
I’m still on stock tie rods btw.
Check hose connections for tightness. I do this on any brand. If you do anything other than desert riding install heavy duty skid plates and a heavy bump pad under transaxle.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
Bottom line is it is a great machine that rides better than anything out there.
All the brands have issues with some having major issues for many many years!
The XX isn’t perfect (close) but I’ll take it over any brand out there especially if you compare it to the others part for part, or apples to apples as they say. Too many haters out there sadly.
It also breaks way way less than anything out there.
Don’t miss my RZR at all!!!!
I’m in Northern VA but we ride in 5-6 states. Maybe I’ll see you on the trails sometime.

Nice review. I drove a Polaris/ X3/ XX Back to back and picked the XX. I loved the room in the cab, suspension was top notch and I loved the tough build of the car. I had a Polaris before and had nothing but problems in the first year I had it (one way bearing, brakes, power steering, transmission, wavy sensor failures) plus it was rough riding and every thing was really cheap. Yes the XX is heavy but I will trade that for reliability any day.

I've said it before, I think Textron has tried some innovative things, and I hope they get their act together and actually put some buggies together with the build quality they are capable of. I always carry recovery equipment on the trail in case anyone is in need including myself. I've actually pulled a new Can Am out of the woods with my Linhai 400 UTV, over 3 miles. Needed an extra machine that trip so we brought the yard work utv with us. Does that make it the superior machine? They both are great machines and both have some great strong points. They each have a unique driveline as one has paddle shifters and the other a belt drive. Both also have excellent LOCKING differentials. Each have a very well built suspension but different in many ways. Both are quick and responsive and have great power. They share the same engine too, the Wildcat XX having a little more performance from the cams install and some tweaking.
Go look at both, sit in them and test drive them. Each has its own feel and power delivery. I feel the YXZ is more refined where as the WILDCAT has more of a raw race truck feel. My friend bought the YXZ and I bought the Wildcat. Both are durable and fun as anything to drive.

Kyle Hibbitt you really might want to open your eyes when you look at a machine. LOL The Textron is built tough for the long hall where most other are built to push out the dealership showroom as quick as possible!! If you actually compare each piece of the Wildcat XX to the other brands, the Wildcat is built to last, not just sell cheap and try to look pretty.
