Good video Richard, spot on about hay when I worked on a farm more years ago than I care to remember we used to do 5 to 10 thousand small bales a year, loaded with a flat 8 and hand balled.
Rich you said you have to be half farmer half mechanic ! To be honest farmers like you are a talented set of individuals who have to be multi skilled in a variety of different roles that need doing everday on the farm .
There those seem to be a bit of a move away from conditioner mowers, what with nearly everything getting tedded and raked. I'd be tempted to try doing without the conditioner myself as an experiment some day, alot cheaper to buy and run, less hp needed too.
Black grass is a type of weed that looks like ryegrass it produces thousands of seeds every year unless pulled or sprayed off , big problems in arable crops it grows with the crop and can only be killed with roundup which also kills off the crop so your doomed if you have big problems , takes all the goodness out of the land and half’s your yields 👍
