Ellie and Fiore are already part of the villains alliance, which would basically make them unstoppable in my eyes.
Ashley was literally just eliminated. As you said, bringing her back would make no sense whatsoever.
Tess is basically just a supporting character, theres no point for her to come back. Also she was eliminated two episodes ago.
Miriam's role and purpose in the story is already done, but looking back on season 1, you'll remember that Miriam was basically Ashley but better at her job. Still, it would be weird to have a winner come back in merge.
James, Lake, Hunter and Connor are the only people i can feasibly see coming back.
Totally agree, lake and hunter are the best options for a return, but I'm more sided towards hunter, Lake is already a complete character while we still need to see more of hunter and his relationships

I'm pretty sure it's going to be someone from Season 2. Currently there's 5 Season 1 campers and 4 Season 2 campers.
The Season 1 cast took a lot of the spotlight during the pre-merge, with Jake and Ashley's friendship, Jake trying to talk to Tom, Alec creating the Villains Alliance, Miriam exposing it, Ellie and Fiore causing chaos on their teams, and Ellie and Gabby's relationship, so it makes sense that the Season 2 cast would take a bigger role during the Merge.
I think it's going to be either Lake, Hunter or Connor, since they have the most potential to spice up the different storylines.
Part 2 of exploring likelihood of rejoining:
Fiore through Tess with Ashley being in the reply
Fiore:
Challenge: Mid to high- As noted through the trailer, Fiore and Alec will have and even retain the lead for a good portion of the challenge. In addition to the villians securing their number advantage more, this alliance will prioritize bringing Fiore back as they likely hate Ellie more (especially Alec and Grett to highlight these are the grudges and people Ellie should have been more concerned about) and the extra benefit of how Fiore sucks in most challenges on her own merit. However, the portion with Yul on lever gives me a sense that Fiore, both solo or with Alec, with Gabby’s audio portion possibly being more context, of hitting some roadblock that she can’t overcome to re-enter. With how sabotage should play a noted factor in the next challenge, I can see someone also doing some counter sabotage to prevent Alec and her to win the challenge.
Plot- should Fiore return, the main focus , to start with her, will be on Alec and her to hash out their issues, regardless of their end on good or bad terms (Side note: the beach segment of his being a negligent father was likely to crush dreams of how Alec never intended to adopt Fiore). Similar to remake and unlike Ellie and Fiore with this, Grett and Fiore will re-visit their faux sister dynamic to her Fiore faux-encouragement return to snap Grett into place again. While people think Yul and Fiore think will form a dynamic, I’m so sure about that outside of one trying to oust another to take the other’s finale spot. Unless Yul somehow snipes Fiore, in twisted reference of how Cirie sniped Courtney in her original Survivor season, Fiore, for typically being a lousy competitor, will get floated again to the finals with goal to lose again. With the villains, getting more numbers, this will highlight that villains like to turn on each other, and so, they, this may likely not be the F6. If either villain returns, Gabby is likely screwed to get booted earlier. In addition, the villains holding at least 6-4 lead on the outliers (unlike remake, there hasn’t been a “heroes” side that hasn’t formed yet), a villain returning may also foreshadow that Tom is likely either going to subplot soon to add and balance the dynamics between the hosts and interns (to possibly form a love square to confuse Oliver and even make Nina somehow vomit at this), or is taking Hunter’s place as the season’s comp beast to keep removing the easy vote for the time being and for the villains’ alliance to fall apart since they are unable to decide which outlier to yeet outside of maybe Gabby (one of their own) to start.
Ellie-Lowest chance projected
Challenge- while some people want Ellie to return, Gabby’s audio portion and the audio trailer portion (which I don’t think was trying throw us off), it seems that Gabby and Ellie is mostly likely going to get very screwed over in the challenge to not win and bring out Gabby’s worst fear of being alone to which Ellie likely makes the situation worse by enforcing this. (Side. Note: I don’t see Ellie convincing Ellie to return to the so-called “heroes” side as she hates Tom, Jake, and Aiden, and while she hasn’t interacted with Ally yet, she likely, even hypocritically for irony, she will likely hold a grudge against Tess for voting her out) Unless Ashely’s audio portions was to foreshadow that Ellie’s does some very dirty and unforgivable (and even by Gabb to begin their breakup arc) to Jake in the challenge (to show Ellie’s hatred for Jake is both unchecked, arguably unwarranted to go to that extreme on the surface level, to showcased that Ellie has bigger issues than plays into a certain resentment/envy Ellie, as a bisexual female, may have for gay men), I don’t see Ellie returning.
Plot- outside of what I mentioned above, Gabby is so screwed upon Ellie returning in one of two ways. One, the GFs will pay for their insanity (of thinking it was a good idea to align with Alec once again) by their own blindsiding Gabby out the game the next opportunity when Gabby isn’t immuned to force Ellie’s loyalty and show how everyone remaining in the game, once Gabby goes, just hates her. Should Ellie rejoin, she is going likely return to going back and forth to both sides, but unlike remake, people are going to pay more attention this kind of floating. Thus, I see a “truce” being made everyone to cease fire for a round (as a villian has an option to heel turn someone, like Riya flipping Ally, past the round) to kick Ellie out with her second elimination over celebrating and dunking on Ellie even harder as she leaves for good (While it seems I’m being harsh on Ellie, the show on their part, like with Jake, has shown that Ellie is supposed to be an intentionally hated character for this season. Two, Gabby’s totem lie comes back to haunt as people play around her alledged totem to snipe Ellie shortly after returning to cause Gabby to break. Regardless of either happening or Ellie returning , I can see Gabby either going rogue to a mixed degree or spiraling to reveal some inner turmoil she has for Ellie being a source of this inner conflict that Gabby will have with herself that may or may not resolve by the season’s.
Tess
Challenge- low to mid. Compared to James and Yul, these two may not get sabotaged not as much of at all. So, Tess returns by Ally and her slipping through the cracks.
Plot- Similar to Hunter, Tess rejoins is meant to to put more focus on Ally and her insecurities that may reveal, despite being a victim of this via Jake, that Ally has some inner envy towards Ally stealing her thunder as a gaming streamer that plays into Ally and Hunter breaking up later. If Hunter ist there, then may ironically “pull a Hunter” by cheating on Hunter with kissing Tess to start recreating the S2 love triangle until Hunter later ends something that he started. Outside of Hunter and Ally, Tess returning may get instigated again by the villains to get her out later, especially if Ally and Grett are supposed to form a rivalry later on. Notably, I can see playing therapist again to Gabby to mixed degree. Like in E9, Gabby hates Tess more, but since Gabby is scared to be left alone, she may also up more for this dynamic to continue and recycle. Otherwise, Tess plays into Jake and/or Tom both indirectly (Aiden) and even directly to highlight Jake being the main antagonist or even villain of the season. If Tess plays therapist to Jake, this may expose how uncomfortable Jake is with someone doing to this (to further be a slap on the face over how Ashley’s attempts to help him were in sadly in vain), let alone to someone who is on good terms with Ally and Aiden, especially if Jake has noted envy towards Aiden himself and Tom’s involvement is meant to cause Jake’s bad blood to boil faster and more often. (Side note: I don’t see how Jake opens up to Tess that he didn’t do with Ashley by now). Should Tess and Tom interact for a change, it would make sense as these have noted common thread (depression or even PTSD). Thus, I can see Tess putting some things into perspective for Tom, as she is a neutral source than Miriam with distorted perspective in regard to Jake, which is part of the reason why Tom has opened up to Aiden in the past few episode. Unlike Jake showing a lack of resolve in E10 by wanting to quit upon Ashley get booted, Tom and Tess bonding may help Tom finding the inner to finally resolve the broken arc to either give Jake one last chance with Tom being notably harder on him or finally moving on from Jake for good.
Ashely- Mid-ish to slim. Unlike others, Ashely coming back after just getting eliminated isn’t as farfethced as it seems. While some people argue that it would destroy the prior episode, that wouldn’t be shocking either. This situation isn’t unheard of from other reality shows, IRL or animated. Also, Ashely re-joining right away may be contextual of someone else (most notably Tom) of coming back had they been kicked out earlier at any point.
Challenge- While it does seem Jake and Ashely do get far in the comeback challenge (which looks like a mini-final (possible reference to MTV’s The Challenge of that is really the case, the trailer also notes that they are mostly getting sabotaged as well in the challenge by likely quite a few the villian pairings, regardless if they are successful at bringing Fiore back. These two only win the challenge if another non-villain helps them win at the cost of having their eliminated partner coming back at which that duo (or person) agrees to not let the villains overrun the season.
Plot- Ashely retuning will be similar if either Tess or Miriam, albeit to a lesser extent of either of them, return to solidify Jake both as the main focus of the season and season’s main antagonist. While things with Jake may seem good for a bit to where to a villain (other than Gabby) likely gets booted next, the cracks, like with the past episodes, are there for Jake to keep going in circles and get set off again due to inner turmoil and toxicity he has to keep internally hurting himself with remaining unresolved and even directly unaddressed to a frustrating agree. Compared to E10, some gaslighting by either Alec or Gabby (to further her arc and inner turmoil by taking questionable another page out of Ellie’s playbook. Any interactions Ashley has with Tom, even to help Jake, will further breed Jake’s envy and insecurities even more to be gaslit again. If they are reflecting beta with Ashley (As Lill was the merge boot in that version), Ashley, at best, may reflect Miriam’s beta elimination of 7th place. Outside of Jake, it is easy to think her last audio portion in the trailer was directed to Riya. If so, and Ashely, this is going explore a feud that Riya and Ashley will have as the merge progresses, which surprised me how Connor was used to fuel this should this happen. Between Riya and Ashely, I can see Riya beating her by poisoning the well with heel turning Ally. In E6, you can argue that Ally has some jealousy towards Ally with her more positive outlook. However, that jealousy were more of a positive (arguably, key difference of jealousy vs envy) aspect of Ally was, especially on her challenge convo with Ashely in E7. However, I can see Riya getting Alyssa to turn on Ally by converting in some way of Ally’s jealousy of Ashley into possible envy. Should this, Jake may still be around to show that we haven’t seen the worst from Jake and her and even beyond his issues with Aiden and even Tom if Jake convinces himself that his his recent ex is the root of all his “evil” and toxicity (despite how Jake’s hang-up with another ex plagued his relationship with Tom on Jake’s end).
I'd say it's not:
- Ashley - she just lost, would make almost no sense for her to rejoin right after her elimination episode.
- Miriam - she already won, and doesn't have enough plot to justify a rejoin.
- Lake - I like her, but, like Miriam, she doesn't have enough plot to develop.
- Tess - Was eliminated 2 episodes ago, a bit too little time for justification.
- Hunter - May join, but he and Ally would just argue all the time.
- Ellie - Gabby needs time to develop, Ellie would just take the spotlight.
- Fiore - People say she has unresolved issues with Alec, but they forget to mention that IT CAN BE RESOLVED IN ONE EPISODE.
I think it will be a rejoin of two people: Connor and James (if only one person rejoins, than I say it will be Connor

I got spoiled of who returns, and I think people will be happy?
I haven’t watched the episode, but I have my made it clear that I think Hunter will return.
While Grett could sabotage Hunter in the challenge to allow Fiore to re-enter, I don’t how Hunter and Grett are paired together unless there some benefit for both like a double immunity for helping someone return for the pair or this pair means for some to most of the eliminees to shift the target onto to someone to potentially get eliminated next. My best guess for that would Alec with this and a few other pairings.
With other eliminees I will go by elimination order by challenge and plot likelihood as well, including or on Hunter.
Part 1: James through Connor
James
Challenge: mid: (Sabotage from the audio portions seems to be noted in the challenge. While some people think Yul is screwing over James with the motorcycle portion, it could also be James teasing Yul about having to ride the “b***h seat” on the motorcycle. Compared to other teams projectively, there are not getting sabotaged or as much to allow to win to pull ahead or possibly win.
Plot: if James return, I think this may indicate that Jake will revealed to be the main villain or anti-villain (if they reveal what his underlying issues are and explore them further in some sympathetic way for the viewers more than the Jake diehards). In addition, Aiden having his BF back with push Tom into being a third wheel to breed some insecurity from him for one of the villains to notice this, exploit it, and possibly form an unlikely but interesting dynamic as merge unfolds. Outside of of those three, I can see a light friendship between Ally and James developing, which may go too far based on Ally’s audio portion (to maybe indicate she will heel later). With dynamic with the villains, James and Riya will butt heads with possibly clashing with Alec in the process. Otherwise, Yul and James winning could open an arc with Grett and him as well as explore tensions Yul and James still have with each other. While there is quite a bit that can be done with James, I’m not sure how long James will last, even if he didn’t win S2 because of Jake and as a means indirectly to extend Gabby’s villain arc.
Lake:
Challenge: Low to slim: Based on her portion, she noticed something concerning to indicate Aiden and her are already behind. Also, Gabby’s audio trailer may have indicated a very physical component in the challenge, and I don’t see how either could do that if Gabby possibly can’t.
Plot: Similar to how Karol came back in S2, I don’t see Lake lasting too long, and her returning would notably impact a few characters to be more noted as the merge progresses. Which I can some noted exchanges with her between Ally, Yul, and maybe Grett, the main people, via Aiden, she would impact are projectively may be an eventual formation with Riya and Tom (in a similar way with James) to be a main merge dynamic which Tom and Riya being a duo can make more sense when you think about it.
Miriam:
Challenge: Low: While Miriam’s audio portion could mean just hype or mild banter or possibly getting medically DQ early to mid-challenge (like if Yul pushes her again). However, Miriam’s audio may indicate Tom and her feel very far behind early one to get count out to where they catch back up. Since Miriam is paired with Tom (who is the strongest campers physically in the season with the show confirming by a clear margin despite how someone like Hunter or James look), Miriam may be able to do something very physical through him. However, should Tom struggle significantly on something physical, even paired with a weaker person, that highlights that half of the others pair won’t be able to complete the challenge while the other half will notably struggle through it.
Plot: Miriam retuning is laying it on thicker that Jake, even if he gets later eliminated (to be the main focus of the loser motel episode), is meant be the main character on the season with whatever they going for in terms on overarching arc. While Ashely got on Jake, Miriam is going to get on Tom again with still being overprotective towards to possibly some toxicity in a deceptive way on how she may be enabling him by doing that. While some people are hoping will end the whole plot line with Jake, she is mostly going to extend it as she focusing more on Tom than her grandson that has bigger and deeper issues than arguably anyone else in this series. Thus, this plot is going to recycle to where Tom tries to patch things up with Jake, but even if Tom sets some strict boundaries with him (which Jake needs) and things seem promising again, things will go downhill again. Since Ashley was the merge boot, like how Lill was in beta, Miriam retuning may foreshadow of her repeating her beta rank of 7th place due to Jake’s insanity, and they are really repeating beta, it will be due to Jake turning on Tom directly (either from Alec or Gabby) to leave Miriam vulnerable to be booted due to Jake’s stupidity and even insanity.
Hunter- Since I discussed him at length in the E11 trailer video analysis, I’ll try to keep this shorter.
Challenge: Highest. They are the most balanced team and Grett and Hunter pairing up is both likely for plot reasons in the episode as well as having some noted benefit for both of them to help each other plus what Grett about Hunter in E5 might have foreshadowing of this.
Plot: Hunter returning is likely meant for balancing (similar to how Karol returning was meant shift more focus on James, Aiden, and Riya) to shift focus onto Ally more to play a bigger role in the season as merge progress. While people are exasperated by Jake and Tom being, despite broken up, as the most noted couple, their angst is likely to emphasize that couples are going to be fractured in some way. Should Hunter return, Ally and Hunter are going into breakup territory to shift the problems onto Ally instead of Hunter early on. Outside of Ally, Hunter is adding to Jake and Tom to clash with Jake (to possibly indirect expose Jake on something) while meshing with Tom (especially if the offness people noted from these two was meant to re-visit something later on)
Connor
Challenge- Low to slim
While people want him to return due to mostly blown potential and what feel like an incomplete arc, the only way Connor is winning with Riya is if there is some huge incentive the Riya thinks is enticing to help Connor come back. Otherwise, Riya is likely to sabotaging Connor to not rejoin while ignoring any warning he gives her until much later or too late.
Plot: There is quite a bit that can done with Connor. Obviously, Connor and Riya continuing to go south is likely to happen. However, Connor returning is possibly to shift focus on Riya being the main villianess again and what I suspect is to be an undertone of her arc with “women’s empowerment” with Connor to counter balance to highlight masculinity as the merge progresses. In addition, this may flesh more on Riya’s main issue with Connor. While Riya is attracted to someone like Connor, she doesn’t want a man to overshadow her as Connor is regarded to be more successful than she is. Outside of Riya, Alec and Connor will clash to possibly have Alec screwing himself over (think Gabby and Ellie getting revenge on him, even if Ellie doesn’t comeback). In addition to Alec, Yul’s pettiness will have some feuding with Connor to put maybe put Grett in precarious spot. More notably, I can see Connor factoring into Jake and Tom by replacing Miriam as the parental figure on the season. If with Jake, Jake is the main season focus and to potentially with reveal deeper or unresolved issues Jake has with his parents, notably his own father. Thus, this relationship may go toxic of Jake’s lack of inner resolve to face himself still goes unchecked. If with Tom, Connor building a father/son dynamic could shift the season focus from Jake to Tom. Should Connor and Tom build this dynamic, it may also transition into subplot if someone who Tom once saw, or maybe even is, as a father reappears (Jensen)

8. James - Same with Miriam
7. Ellie - A hero is winning and if Ellie returns one of the villains win
6. Fiore - Same reason as Ellie the only reason she’s higher is because she was eliminated earlier
5 Ashley - Literally just eliminated there is no point in being her back plus if they did I see the villains just voting her out right away
4 Tess - Same with Ashley but since she was eliminated earlier she’s higher
3 Connor - I think Connor might return but his partner is Riya and they gonna be arguing the entire time
2 Hunter - Same with Connor but he and Grett would do better
1 Lake - Same with Connor and Hunter except she has Aiden and they work really well together
In conclusion I think Lake, Hunter, or Connor will most likely join
What I also realized is that there are 5 boys and 4 girls so they will probably try to make it even

1: Connor (litterley a pre-merge boot last season and could give Alec and Riya important again)
Really Connor and Hunter are the only two I can see rejoining

I'm Lake gang. I've wanted Lake to return since she was eliminated
It didnt make sense for connor to leave when he did. He also didnt get a proper send off, what with having to clean up the stage. I think he will come back. Also, considering each character gets paired up with a still in game character, a lot of smaller interactions, like fiore and alec, ally and tess, ellie and gabby, even hunter and ally, have a possibility aof being explored in episode 11 itself.

Lake has no more story to offer let’s be honest and hunter would interfere with allys arc. Ashley and Tess just got out as well. Miriam and James won a season and their stories are complete. Ellie also interrupts gabbys arc.

Honestly, I can't see the appeal of Lake returning. She got eliminated fair and square. She doesn't even have anything to really offer anymore, aside from being Aiden's therapist. I don't see a good reason for her to return.
