In my earlier years I cleared property, similar to this, by hand. It was a hard and hot and laborious job that took a long time to finish. Now to watch you accomplish, what you do in such a short time is truly amazing. Great job!
I am with those who said the neighbors around this lot must be very happy to see the brush/tree mess all cleaned up. Overgrown spots like this harbors some unwanted critters like rodents, snakes spiders etc. that can invade your property. Great job even if it was bad, bad, bad.
I love watching you take down all those trees and undergrowth. Be careful with that big ole machine. You don't need to be out there all by yourself. I know God watches over you. God bless you!!!
That machine is amazing. I can imagine the man who invented that machine was not believed at first. But he got a patent and John Deere company took a chance and built it. It is fascinating to see the machine work. You are doing a great service by using it. Thank you for sharing with us. God bless.
As I watch you tackle the dense undergrowth I can see why some commentators suggest you get a mulcher. The brush hogger looks rather fragile, while a Fecon mulcher looks far more formidable. But looks in this case are certainly deceiving. When you tipped up the brush hogger in the last video, everyone got a good look at how well built it was, combining blades with mulching teeth; strong enough to take on the jobs you accept. There’s an old adage: if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. And this is certainly the case in your situation. Your cinematography gets better with each video. Mixing up the shots keeps the audience interested, and anyone who dreams of getting into the business is getting an excellent how-to. Running a longer video also shows would-be landscapers just how tough the business can be. Keep up the good work. You’re teaching by example.
Thanks foe the feedback, hopefully a mulcher is in my future for nastier jobs such as this. Would have liked to see how one would have performed in this.
Excellent job. Everything looks so clean & open. I’m sure those homes around the lot are extremely happy. Keep property value at a high level for sure. See ya next video.💯❤️👍🏾🙏🏾🇺🇸
That’s a nice lot if they would keep it up, nice trees! Yeah you cut some thick stuff, I noticed that you’re getting better at the stuff falling on top of the mower deck! Great video brother!
Thanks for the content I enjoy the no music just machine hydro noise and the cutter at work. I wish I had your setup as I am clearing 40 acres I bought it's like this and all I have is a Deere 4052m 4wd tractor with a loader to knock stuff down and a 295 heavy duty hog to cut it up with. Much slower going that you smashing this stuff with ease!
I definitely like the time lapse more, makes the cutter look more intense and not boring! I’ve spent many days while I was younger on different size bush hogs cutting acres of tall grass and trees and that can get rather boring! lol good video
That certainly was a good pre cleanup, they need to have you do a full clean up by taking the vines out of the trees, as it was this jungle you concurred was a vast job in itself. Great video, Thanks !
I prefer the size of mulch left by a Fecon unit. But don’t ask me why, I find it therapeutic/hypnotic to watch this plate speed-eat the over growth. I’m disabled, I forget being in pain & take less narcotic Rx. Thanks for your videos.
That head does one hell of a job on that it looks a lot better A hundred percent better great job I bet you those neighbours are happy don't have to look at it that crap all day.👍👍😀🍁
Almost needed a diamond cutter in that thick stuff instead of that what you was using lol and could of cut more of those little trees down too with it , But a good job with what you did brother !
Great video! Maybe this lot should be done more often if owner allows. Maybe depends on weather. If you've had a lot of rain do more often. Just trying to think of easier result for you.
Yeah I like to see the time lapse video because we can see your progress and the sun glare wasn’t that bad! Good video brother! Just cutting can get boring but I guess if you mixed them both together it makes a good video! Thanks my friend!
You need to add the title of Urban Forrester to your job description and step up to a forestry mulcher and a eighteen wheeler! Joking aside very nice job and video.
Not attacking but advice But you really need to think about getting a rotary mulcher you could go thru that yard in half the time with better results. Not timidly go up to a 2 inch tree and slowly chip thru it. True that can do it but not intend for huge lot like that. A forestry mulcher can take down and go thru a 10 inch tree like butter i. Same time you chip away at a 2 inch bush What you're using is good for many small brush grassy areas while a forestry mulcher would've been best for that area. Depends on how much time and wear and tear at 12 min in a downed tree turned you around where you could've eaten thru that like nothing Both good each has bennys Think about saving $$ and investing in one
That seems to get the job done and more better because that is a lot of Bush's Vines and grass And that might be a little bit messy which means probably be having birds in their trees which is not good
I have never done this type of work, with any machine. So I am curious: why back up every time you let the mower down? Why not just let the mower down and let the blades chew up whatever you have grabbed, and then move forward?
Lowering the deck and back dragging allows the blades to skim the ground and process the material on the ground while leaving a nice finish. Great question Morris, I appreciate you watching!
Really solid music track on this one bud. Very Ringo Star mixed with Mitch Mitchell drumming style with the melodic piano chord changes. Great track. Who was it?
The MTL is bad to the bone! Nice work IDig. Thanks for showing the blades, I've always wondered what they look like as well. How many RPM's are they spinning?
I am always curious as to the financial part of doing something like this. I would imagine you would have to charge quite a bit to offset the cost of maintaining such a beast, including all the other pieces of machinery you have .
Ray Vandegrift , I don’t believe that he owns one . Buying a mulcher would be a huge investment and his current machinery copes well enough with the contracts he has .
Forestry mulcher would have worked great but I don't own one at the moment but I haven't run into anything the MTL couldn't handle yet. But I do want one in the future.
Bravo Zulu: now if the people who own the land will keep it cut all will be good. thanks for a very outstanding video. How many acres can you clear in one work day? (Mississippi gulf coast)
No I don't personally know him but he has commented on a few of my vids I believe. But I got a drone last year and have become quite good at flying it!
Hehehe. Yeah It's bright alright! But No Worries, I got to look at the video with Sunglasses on indoors on my phone after I turned down the brightness on that too. XD -Ok sry! Jokes down. But maybe there are some filter cap (Camera protection filter) or something to have 'over and on top of the camera.. even If you have do dealing with that all the time later on then, taking It On and Off all the time depending on how much sun there is. It creates more job for you to make these videos good? Is it worth It? No maybe.. Idk. But people should not get Epileptic seizure by the sun reflection here. Dude, anyway. I hope you figure It out. And as always 'What A great video and job you did!" Bye.
No it will degrade and decompose pretty quick over the rest of the summer. I'll see a little of it the next time I mow but by a year its usually completely gone.
@@idigit4967 Thank you. I'm new to CTL and I have over 30 acres to manicure. I appreciate your advice. I'm a professional photographer on the side so feel free to reach out if I can return the favor with camera/video tips. Keep up the great work.
That soldier that was watching constantly was the first man down lol. Glad you got that job done and the weather was good for it. How many snakes and other wildlife did ya run out?
IDigIt4 probably from one neighborhood to another until they didn’t have a house no more. We ran into a few black snakes. Ran some rabbits out. And a copperhead fiesta a couple days ago. Didn’t like the ground shark to well. Looking good. And that’s the satisfaction of the job
Can I ask you something? How did you come about doing this for a living? I've watched several of your videos and this is one of the most addictive things I've ever seen!
Well I've always had a love and fascination with heavy equipment ever since I was a kid. I grew up around construction, my dad is a licensed GC and he built houses when I was a kid and he taught me how to operate a backhoe. A few years ago he started bush hogging properties for some friends as a side job and it kinda took off from there and he and I formed this company. Then I started putting my projects on UA-cam.
A set up like this will run you anywhere from 20k to 100k+ depending on if you buy used or new and the brands you buy for both the machine and cutter deck.
Sam Chee , I think you’ll find that most land owners just want the foliage cut down so it’s not a half ass job to them . The majority of people have to work to a budget .
Very true! The "Life After People" series that History Channel did about 10 years ago was really cool in exploring what would happen to the planet and what it would look like if all the people just suddenly disappeared.
Wow what a difference, the neighbors must be happy. That MTL XCT did a number on that stuff

I trust the landowners compensate you well for that work, it has to be hard on you and your machine. thanks for sharing
Yeah the machine takes a beating sometimes, its much harder on the hydraulics than just digging dirt.
The time lapse of the machine chomping up and down reminds me of a game called Hungry, Hungry Hippo.
LOL never thought about that but good analogy
Wow! There is just no end in sight. Great job. Thanks

I know those guys will be glad when that job is done and they don't have to another one like that ever
I can tell that you had some big material in there,...the mulch is chunky and not smooth. But it looks great!!!
G'day King of the jungle great job it looks great mate.

I am always curious as to the financial part of doing something like this. I would imagine you would have to charge quite a bit to offset the cost of maintaining such a beast, including all the other pieces of machinery you have .
That a tough challenge. Good job
Lots of lovely destruction , you did a great job of editing out most of the sun glare , excellent video .
Thank you very much!
Now curious question....why wouldn't you use a forestry mulcher for that project ??

You should get one helper with a pole saw to limb ,and vine cut off the trees
Your video is the best one I have seen so far
what is the RPMs of blades or blades motor at full flow? that can cut!!!! It cut trees like they were tall grass?
a polarizing lens work to cut down on the glare
U should look at getting into a disk mulcher. U do so many trees and stuff like that. There is a company that sells them. Look at ss mulchers.
Jungle no more..gud job..

I need to get a camera too. Am taking on a lot full of elephant grass and brazillian pepper today.

Yeah but you have to be super careful not to hit the tree and damage them. Can be tricky
Bravo Zulu: now if the people who own the land will keep it cut all will be good. thanks for a very outstanding video. How many acres can you clear in one work day? (Mississippi gulf coast)

No doubt
Great video. Thanks. In your experience, does the mulch deteriorate and degrade over time or do you feel the need to rake it up with a grapple?

maybe Put the polaroid lens on the gopro
I didn't know they made one of those but I'll definitely look into it!
The polarizer won't fix lens flare. The best option is the change the angle of the lens.
