Love your vlogs! I just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the first time last night! I loved it! As for ‘scary’ movies, I don’t do horror, so it’s not scary but Scooby Doo And The Boo Brothers is the first Scooby Doo animated Movie. I rewatched it last night. Every October I do a a Scooby-Doo-A-Thon where I watch every Scooby Doo Movie. There are at least 40 now and I own them all on dvd. As I say, it’s not really scary, but very nostalgic for me. Zombie Island is probably the most scary one. That or The Witches Ghost, which is my favourite! There’s witch lore in that one, so if you’re looking for cute and funny, but not too spooky movie recs, then the Scooby-Doo ones are great! 🎃!
I just finished the last house on needless street today! it's a different book, i definetely started enjoying it more when i stopped guessing what would happen because i was always wrong. a really special book
October is the best month! mansion of the ghost cat is one of my favourite halloween movies, japanese horror from the 1950s, I would say weird more than scary 🎃
I loved watching you do your spooky makeup, that was really so cool🥰your vlogs are always such fun. I loved the outdoor pictures too. The first book kind of intrigued me, so I may have to look for it. And the last house on needless street also sounds good.
I'd love to know where you got that shirt 🎃 I also hate scary movies, I'm very easily frightened and I've never been able to find it fun. It's just stressful. 🙃
If you liked that episode of my favorite murder you should also try the podcast Criminalia. They do historical crimes and the whole first season is poisoners.
I agree with you on Things Have Gotten Worse. I *still* don't know what to think about book. I wound up giving it 4.5 ⭐ became it's rare that makes me that uncomfortable lol. I really wish that I owned a copy (yay for libraries otherwise I couldn't read it) so that I can see if I missed anything? 🤔 This book was one of the weirdest, most twisted and uncomfortable reads I'd ever read in my life yet somehow I liked it. What does that say about me lol? 😂 Anyway. Happy Halloween and love your makeup. Beautiful cross stitching and hello to the kitties! 🎃
The embroidery looks great! I'm not sure if you would be interested in cross stitch, but I would recommend checking out The Witchy Stitcher. As for spooky movies I tend to rewatch The Orphanage, the old Omen movie, The Night of the Hunter, or anything by Guillermo del Toro.
A movie I recently enjoyed was malignant. Just to warn you tho if you want a serious (and scary) movie then this is not for you lol If you haven't seen the confessions movie yet this might be a good opportunity to do so now! Happy Death Day is also a fun movie. Some other good movies: Behind the Mask: the rise of leslie vernon, train to busan (korean), Door Lock (korean), Host, You're Next (similar to ready or not. So so good). The UA-cam channel dead meat has great recs for old and new movies (if you by any chance didn't know about the channel lol)
🎃🎃 I also got nothing but blacked teeth (preordered it in march purely because of the cover) 🎃🎃 I can't get my hands on The death of jane lawrence in Ireland at all, not even on kobo. Where did you get yours? The bridge curse is a good Chinese horror film on Netflix. Rob zombies House of 1000 corpses and The devil's rejects are a fav of mine, if you haven't given them a watch 👻
Awesome video. Love watching your videos. I did read the book Blackened teeth which was unfortunately bad. The characters in the book are just horrible people. The story made me feel dirty after completing that one.
The music opening *chef's kiss* Great to see you again 😍 Wow that Harley Quinn make up is amazing! I am jelly and proud of your talent 😍 9:48 it looks like they're a mini Totoro on your nose 🥺 Omg potato waffles?!?!?!?!? I haven't had them in years and where I live doesn't have them. When I can eventually get back to the UK, I am gobbling some of them up 🤤 I really wanna read Things Have Gotten Worse because booktube has such a vague and weirded out reaction to it. That ghost mug 🥺 Halloween is an aesthetic I love but have zero of it implemented in my life 🙃 The Death of Jane Lawrence sounds great! I've heard about Nothing but Blackened Teeth months before it even came out. I had no idea it was Japanese-like! Now I'm more excited. You said Heian correctly 👍 Sorry for the long comment 😅 🎃 Fav Scary movie?? ......... Alien? Battle Royale? Train to Busan! I don't really watch horror scary, more like supernatural or suspense thriller. Highly recommend the tv show Kingdom though. My fav Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus 🤭
You want scary movies? Try _The Exorcist, The Shining,_ and the first two _Alien_ movies. Maybe _The Conjuring,_ too. And the first _Paranormal Activity._ Or _The Exorcism of Emily Rose._ And maybe _The Evil Dead_ (or the remake) and _Cabin in the Woods._ And I really loved _The Others_ with Nicole Kidman. And I think you should try _Let Me In_ with Chloë Grace Moretz, the remake of the original Swedish movie _Let the Right One In_ from the John Ajvide Lindqvist book. I also heard _IT_ was good, the highest grossing horror film of all time, but I haven't seen it yet. You can also try the original 1990 TV miniseries. A few more: _A Haunting in Connecticut, It Follows_ (that one was amazing!) and _Mama_ (Guillermo del Toro). You can also try _White Noise,_ _Orphan_ and _The Babadook_ (William Friedkin, director of _The Exorcist,_ said he's "never seen a more terrifying film").
🎃 ooh, i have a spooky film recommendation that's a bit obscure and underrated in my opinion. it's not a horror film exactly, like it's not a slasher and there aren't jump scares in every scene [at least as far as I remember] but the plot and the atmosphere and the ending and the implications... fuck, I loved this film a lot. it's creepy and somewhat gothic and slow but it's also very unnerving and it left me feeling a bit disturbed. so the film is called The Sonata and it's from 2018. also, I like that it's not a us film. well, not a fully us film. if I remember correctly France, Russia, and Latvia were also heavily involved in its production as well as the UK and the US and I feel like you can definitely feel it when you watch the film. it stands out from the horror-thriller film you usually see being put out. another more widely known film that still isn't talked about enough in my opinion is Cure for Wellness. this fucking film. i watched it with my mum and she literally has no recollection of watching it, she completely blacked it out. it's like a running joke now with us "that film you watched but don't remember that you watched or even know which film I'm talking about". it starts very slow and bizarre but it's very beautifully shot and you almost get lost in all the atmosphere. but then the more you watch the more you realise that everything is just way too weird and it becomes weirder and weirder. ppl act weird, the place is weird. just everything is. and the main character seems to be losing it and descending into madness and you don't know whether things are actually weird or if he's losing it. but then the ending. the ending. i don't even know what I can say to express anything about the ending without giving away anything. i watched it a couple of years ago and i want to rewatch it to see how i feel now that i know what's up but also i am so not rewatching this film. no beautiful shot and no amount of dane deHaan on my screen will make me rewatch it for at least a couple of years more 🎃
So glad Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke had the desired effect. 😂😂 That’s why I sent it to you, I wanted to see your reaction. I had the same reaction. When it ended I just said, what the fuck did I just read? Totally went in a direction I didn’t expect. You can’t really discuss it without spoilers. I think if it was full length it could have been more fleshed out and more twisted. If that’s possible.
How come Riley Sager's book in England is called _Last Time I Lied_ but in North America it's called *_The_*_ Last Time I Lied_ ? The British can't handle the _The_ ?
I think in Things Have Gotten Worse it was missing any character development or backstories. I know that wasn’t the point, but that would’ve made it pack more of a punch if I knew more about the “why”. I gave 2.5 stars but it wasn’t rateable!

I'm an American, so when you said your tea was in the oven, I was absolutely BAFFLED 😅
Honestly, calling dinner tea is SO weird, it takes me some time to adjust every time even though I know what it means xD
Hahahah I really need to remember to clarify 😅
@@CodiesBookCorner no! You're okay! When you started talking about food, it made sense. I just was picturing you putting two mugs of tea in the oven 😭
I’m dead proud of myself that I didn’t notice that time! I’m an adjusting American in the UK hehe. 🥰🥰
the cats weren't weirded out because they believed it was your true form and wanted to be supportive.
YES, THIS! fav comment of the day 💀
I read Things have gotten worse since we last spoke as well. I agree, definitely strange. The beginning was normal, then forget about it. Lol
I loved The Last house on Needless Street

Loving the long vlogs!!
I am about to rewatch the original Dracula with Bela Lugosi, so I recommend that one if you haven't seen it.
I started a new job and there are cat that live in the building and Mabel reminds me of Bella and it makes me so happy. 🎃
October is the best month! mansion of the ghost cat is one of my favourite halloween movies, japanese horror from the 1950s, I would say weird more than scary 🎃
A Nightmare on Elm Street (whole series, but number 7: A New Nightmare is peak and Freddy vs Jason is good for a laugh)
Hi Codie... I really loved The One and Future Witches and The Lost Apothecary...
I loved watching you do your spooky makeup, that was really so cool🥰your vlogs are always such fun. I loved the outdoor pictures too. The first book kind of intrigued me, so I may have to look for it. And the last house on needless street also sounds good.
🎃 Another great vlog! Can't wait to see how you like some of the books you hauled, and nice makeup work with the demon face!
Favourite scary movie is 6th Sense hands down
Love Fangs! It’s a great graphic novel!
I adored Fangs! I gave it 5 stars when I read it. Super cute!!! If I had to recommend a scary movie, I would recommend Nightmare on Elm Street.
LOVE me a long Codie vlog
Crimson Peak by Guillermo Del Toro and Bram Stocker's Dracula by Francis Ford Coppola
🎃 great video! My favorite scary movies would be the Scream movies. I hated the grudge it freaked me out. I’d recommend a movie called sinister.
🎃🎃🎃🎃 my favorites are The Shining and Paranormal Activity but I’m sure you’ve seen those!
Really enjoyed this video 🎃❤️
I'd love to know where you got that shirt 🎃
I also hate scary movies, I'm very easily frightened and I've never been able to find it fun. It's just stressful. 🙃
Codie, I always love your clothes.
It Follows really freaked me out as far as scary movies goes. 😬

fav scary movie is Split. it is fucking insane
Ok, i WANT your ghost mug. Where did you get it??
I really enjoyed The Last House on Needless Street! The pacing was a little slow in the middle but I thought the atmosphere was so good 🎃

18:45 you're so welcome❤❤
When you said you were from Yorkshire, I was shook when said you were raised on tea that is not Yorkshire tea.
I was thinking this also! 😂
