Ryuken is a Doctor... He knows the inner workings of the human body combined with his prior knowledge of the spiritual powers as a man born from a family of Quincies.
So the reishi arrow essentially jump started Ishida's spiritual pressure which allowed him to get his powers back. It's a simple but effective way to re trigger power in this universe. It's kind of like how Ichigo's presence is what incited Chad and Orihime to awaken their power at the start of the series. His presence stirred their inner spiritual pressure and allowed their power to truly manifest. And with the influence of another quincy Uryu could re awaken his power.
And yeah some bankai are just too dangerous to use especially with allies around. And that's why notable characters don't have theirs revealed for quite some time.
Well, he wasnt lying about not suited for training but it is really interesting

-In the manga, when Hiyori attacks Ichigo with Gatling Mad-Stomping, he blocks her kicks with both arms and she uses solely the bottom of both feet; here, Ichigo instead only blocks with his left arm and Hiyori uses only her right foot in addition to finishing with an upward kick to Ichigo's chin.
-In the manga, when preparing to use Gritz, Uryū lands in front of Ryūken; here, he instead flips over and lands behind Ryūken, who turns around to face him.
-In the manga, the Heilig Pfeil that Ryūken shoots Uryū with has an intricate arrowhead underneath the flame-like Reishi at its tip; here, it instead does not.

We have a looong way until Urahara's Bankai. Took a whole decade to happen in Manga and as of 2024 it has not been animated yet.
Hopefully, by 2025 we will be able to see it

The big issue Chad, and Orihime for that matter, are facing is that, at this point, no one we've met seems to understand what the hell their powers are or where they come from. This makes training them difficult since they basically have to operate on an instinctual understanding of their abilities as well as take note of similarities to other people or being's own powers.
At this point every viewer or reader should have been asking what the hell are Chad and Orihime? What makes them different from other spiritual mediums like Tatsuki or Kanonji?

At least you're remembering what Ulquiorra said about Orihime's powers. It's become a pet peeve for me for so many, even some who should know better, to oversimplify Orihime's powers rather than trying to understand them.

It probably required a great deal of experimentation for whatever R&D the Quincy had to discover the way to fix the damage caused by the Quincy: Letzt Stil. Made me wonder at the time what advancements the Quincy could have made to their techniques and powers if they hadn't been genocided.

You are actually wrong, what happens now is it is hinamori, what you are referring only happened during that fight not the entire duration. Sometimes, you should not get brainwashed yourself and watch the manga and anime together again as a reference. If you forgot it already, go watch it again dummy
