    You know it wasn't that you cleaned it so beautifully that had me wowed. It was the fact that for a change the owner hadn't totally trashed their vehicle like the rest of your clients seem to have. Dirt is one thing as is age. Abject total filth is quite another. Like always though, you did a fantastic job on that car.

    One place to clean that is often missed in a smoker's car: the seatbelt. I had a car from a smoker and every time it rained, your wet shirt would activate the nicotine in the belt and you would get a gross brown stripe on your shirt. Bleh.
    Great job on this car!

    Your work here in the old garage with this Grand Am was excellent. My youngest nephew had a 1977 Grand Am his parents found through a friend. It had crank windows and an AM radio. He drove it to his High School every day for a couple of years. There was a lot of brown water being poured down the drain pit there. Very cool Mitch. Great work as always. 💜💜💜

    • @anticlutch
      @anticlutch Рік тому +2

      Ideally with as little moisture as possible. Generally speaking, a microfiber paint buffing pad with a couple sprays of very diluted all-purpose cleaner (think at least 8:1 or 10:1 water:product) and gently moving the pad in small circle motions with as little pressure as possible. Blot dry with a clean terry cotton towel (or microfiber, terry cotton has better moisture wicking properties in certain use cases). With older vehicles like the one featured in the video, or with vehicles that have been in hot/dry climates for a long time, cleaning the headliner is risky as the adhesive holding the cloth will be much more brittle and cleaning it can cause the headliner to sag. It's a risk vs. benefit situation on vehicles like that. Detailers who blast the headliner with steam will most certainly be causing the cloth to sag much sooner than it would have otherwise.

      @@jamesestelle7260 Ok, James I understand. When Mitch first started he did all the work out of his garage that was attached to his home. You are right about that. Then last year, he bought some vacant land close to home and built a large building complete with a new high tech studio and lots of room to detail cars and trucks. He even showed us the construction in phases. He really shares a lot with his subscribers. Hope that helps a bit. 😀

    If this isn't a detailing where the costs of the detail are close to, if not more than, the value of the car I don't know..

    I must ask. I never see you clean the headliner of any vehicle. Is this something you routinely clean? I ask this given the heavy smoke of this vehicle.

    That car is definitely a polished turd now, the kinda car you can wrap around a tree and not feel a flicker of emotion. A proper car 👌

    Mitch, do you ever worry about the long term effects of this profession? Touching and breathing in cigarette and brake pad residue in particular can have cause cancer and other nasty ailments.
