    Bishop Joseph Strickland, one of the most courageous and orthodox defenders of the Catholic faith in the American Church, who has experienced persecution and has been a critic of many of Pope Francis's decisions, announced yesterday that he will be making a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, the site of Our Lady's apparitions, where the Mother of God has been appearing since 1981. #medjugorje #BishopStrickland #JosephStrickland #BishopJosephStrickland #catholicism #QueenofPeace #virginmary #Jesus #marianapparitions #mysticism #StAthanasius #ChurchFathers #orthodoxy

    Bishop Strickland hasn't spoken against the Pope. He has tried to help and guide him according to his office as an apostle of Christ. I live in Texas with family in Tyler. He's a faithful servant of Holy Mother Church. I'm so happy he's going to Medjugorje, and we should all pray for him. Please pray for him, he's a Eucharistic champion for the whole church and is against division of any kind. He wants unity.

      I heard Bishop Strickland publicly denounce Our Holy Father as a heretic. Pope Francis has to intervene and punish him.

    May the dear Lord bless this holy, precious and truth loving Bishop. Going to Medjugorje is truly healing. Our Blessed Mother will surely be with him! This is a painful time for dear Bishop Strickland but it sets him free to go ever more deeply into the Heart of Jesus. In every pain there is grace and growth, and this is most true of persecution. He will experience a parish that is alive and adoration that is so precious and powerful. Pray for him all of you who cherish his faithful witness. ❤

    The Church is the Body of Christ. - St. Paul. Obedience (to the Church) and humility lead to God’s wisdom. - St. Catherine. I’ll let God be the judge as to whether Bishop Strickland is exercising great humility, obedience, and acting in accord with God’s will; or acting in accord with his own.

    Blessings! I personally do not like that image that is suppose to be mother Mary like holding a flame of power or something in her hands... and the so called "roses" around her that some look like evil faces! I'm very CAREFUL and i DISCERN on the images that are made... because not ALL the paintings, etc. are positive/legit and Celestial!!! Please, let us be CAREFUL when choosing to share or even have Celestial images in our own homes! Whether it's of Mother Mary, Jesus, etc.
    Very important! There was a brother in Christ Jesus that had posted the importance of carefully thinking that EVERY Celestial image is legit! Not all are... let us learn to discern! With love and respect I say and share🙏

    Medjugorje is the place closest to Heaven on Earth. The Blessed Mother is still appearing there. The visionaries know about unjust persecution. May Bishop Strickland find peace and joy amid chaos and may our Blessed Mother wrap him under the mantle of her protection.

    Be careful of Bishop Strickland. He supports the clear, good and simple messages of the church, promoting them with a soft voice and an open manner. BUT he misunderstands and mis-quotes the more complex messages that require help from the Holy Spirit, mercy, a higher level of thinking and great wisdom to hear and explain to others. He is unwittingly creating confusion and anxiety. If he is unable to interpret the papal documents correctly then the Pope was right to relieve him of his duties as a Bishop.

    He is not persecuted. The Catholics in Nigeria are persecuted. The bishop signed a document falsely accusing pope francis of heresy. That is a major violation of his oath of obedience and he keeps attacking the hierarchy. Thats not what a holy bishop does. Look up what Padre Pio says about loving and obeying the Pope.

    • @FrDanielMaria
      @FrDanielMaria  8 місяців тому +16

      Blessings, Christine! Thank you for commenting. There are different forms of persecution, just like we make the distinction between red martyrdom and white martyrdom, both a bishop or cleric within the Church can experience professional persecution (as a type of white martyrdom) and, of course, Catholics in Nigeria and other radically Islamist regions can experience red martyrdom. It sounds like you may have a slightly misguided perception of the oath of obedience. It doesn't mean that a cleric or bishop must do or believe everything that his superior says. If the superior is objectively wrong or commits a moral or doctrinal error, certainly the vow of obedience does not require one to align with the error. You wrote, "that's not what a holy bishop does"---in terms of the duties of bishops, they are a part of the Magisterium and the major obligations that have, in that regard, is to safeguard and protect the teachings of the Church as they have been handed down by Christ, the Apostles, Scripture and Tradition. There have been popes who have committed errors, have been wrong, in Church history and courageous bishops who fought against those errors. That's not violating the vow of obedience, that's upholding their roles as members of the Magisterium, and thus inheritors and defenders of sacred tradition. I hope that's helpful clarification. God bless you, Christine!

      Another idolater, it's disgusting! Where do you place God in this hierarchy? Do you even realize that if there is a Catholic Church, it is only because of Jesus? As Paul asked: did the pope die for you? Do you even know why you are a Christian? Whatever answer you give, one thing is certain: on the day of judgment, when you face the Lord, there will be no pope to defend you. On the contrary, you will be asked what you did with the Word that Jesus gave you. Yes, you will be asked what you have done with his Holy Law, and not with the gospel according to Pope Francis...

      Here’s why Bishop Strickland was wrong to do what he did

    Anyone who has contact with the good Bishop Strickland, please ask him if he can ask Vicka about her statement claiming Our Lady told her that her real birthday is Aug. 5th. This is not true. And I hope he questions her about this.

    • @FrDanielMaria
      @FrDanielMaria  8 місяців тому +4

      Hi Ann, what makes you sure it's not true? Just because the Church celebrates Our Lady's birthday on September 8th liturgically that doesn't mean that the Church is saying that must be the actual, historical date she was born. In fact, it's liturgically oriented, because her Immaculate Conception is celebrated December 8th, exactly 9 months later we celebrate her birthday. That doesn't mean, of course, that we know for a fact that Our Lady was conceived on December 8th---but it is liturgically when we honor it. In other words, there is nothing wrong with believing that the actual historical dates of these events may be different from the liturgical celebration. Thus, Vicki did nothing wrong.

    • @Ann-p5g
      @Ann-p5g 8 місяців тому

      So, the Church could have it wrong? Have you ever heard of Our Lady telling this to anyone else? Especially in an approved apparition. Mother Mary of Agreda was chosen by Our Lady to write about the life of the Holy Family. An approved writing by the Church. In it she writes September 8th being her birthdate. As does Blsd Anne Emmerich. That should make one pause. And why the confusion being brought on by what Vicka claims? Our Lady does not bring forth confusion. Also, as we spoke with Maryiana (sp) in her front yard, she told us about her receiving an apparition of a Franciscan monk; and said she later determined it was the work of Satan. When I went there, I believed, I saw many going to confession, heard talks, one by Fr. Pavich (whom I'm told no longer believes(d) in all that was going on there. I know what I and others were told; and I also know that Our Lady would never cause confusion; sadly there is much of that today. I am not here to add more confusion, only stating facts. Do with it what you will.

    • @FrDanielMaria
      @FrDanielMaria  8 місяців тому +3

      @user-wt5cp9fu7s Dear Ann, thank you for your words! In terms of "so the Church could have it wrong?" as you wrote, there are of course different degrees of ascent: so, for example, in her dogmas, doctrines, teachings on faith and morals, of course we must abide and the Church does not have it wrong. But we are not required to have the same degree of ascent to liturgical feast days reflecting direct historical dates; this isn't about the Church being "wrong," as the liturgical feast day is meant to honor the specialness of the occasion, but the Church does not teach that the liturgical dates correspond exactly to the historical dates. In terms of the revelations of Maria of Agreda and Anne Catherine Emmerich, it is important to note the nuance of such revelations: that they are filtered by the human psyche and can contain elements that are both divine and human because of the human filtering. For example, Catherine of Siena claimed she had a revelation of Our Lady saying that the Immaculate Conception is a false teaching. That, of course, is heresy, as the Immaculate Conception is a dogma, but, at the same time, Catherine was a saint and most likely made a mistake because her own Dominican order did not believe in the Immaculate Conception yet: her human filtering and preexistant expectations filtered the vision to reflect the mistake. Fr. Benedict Groeschel writes about these matters in his great book on discerning private revelations, "A Still Small Voice," explaining how authentic visionaries can make mistakes and that it's not always a false or demonic vision. Anne Catherine Emmerich, for example, did have criticisms of Maria of Agreda's revelations, because they did have contradictions with her own. So, what I'm saying is, there are a few possibilities here, private revelations are frequently not black and white. One possibility is that they are right and the date was Sept 8th. The other possibility isbthat Vicka is right and, therefore, Ann Catherine Emmerich and Maria of Agreda were using their preexistent knowledge of the Church’s liturgical calendar to mark it as Sept 8th, again human factors combined with divine revelation. Needless to say, as mentioned, the Church does not teach that the liturgical date must exactly correspond to the historical date. Though certainly they can! Hope that's helpful clarification about the official teaching and nuances with private revelations. God bless you!!

    What a beautiful image of Saint Benedict behind the priest. Italy had the most extraordinary saints, nonetheless it became a pig den crowded by atheists and apostates, like France. Very sad for my country. Saint Benedict, Saint Francis, Saint Claire, Saint Catherine from Siena, watch over us.
