- In this video we continue our new series: The Triad of Arm Wrestling Techniques. This triad consists of the post, the hook and the low hand top roll! In this video we cover the posting top roll which we think is the most fundamental and important to learn of the triad. We discuss the fundamentals of the move, what it leads you to on the hill, and when to use or not to use this move! Let us know what you think! Hook and low hand top roll videos coming soon!
Killing it guys! I've been going back to all the hill videos and I learn more than I did the last time. Can't wait for the next one and thank you!
Thank you man!!
This is great stuff for me as a beginner guys iv gotten into pulling through DEVON and he turned me onto you all with one of his videos.I got nothing but thanks to you guys for the basics
🙏🙏
Once again you guys are the best at teaching the specifics of arm wrestling techniques…straight to the point and easy to understand unlike Devon haha I love Devon but he explains things in an abstract kinda way that is hard for me to follow.
Thank you Robert. We all explain things a little differently! Devon is 10 steps ahead of all of us haha
I didn't really understand the importance of rise before this explanation. Really well done.
Very useful. One of the best channels for learning stuff, especially for beginners. Thank you!
These videos are so key to the sport! Great idea guys! Priceless
This triad series you guys put out earned you a new subscriber. Amazing.
Great video
I wish I could physically train with you guys, my brain needs this structure.
Come to Toronto!
@@tablemonkeys5262 I'm in New Brunswick, Hubcity Hitmen in Moncton. I will go to Toronto sometime in the future.
Superb content. Informed, Clear and Concise.
Thank you 🙏
This is great for new people
Very helpful thankyou!
You're welcome!
Class is in session. Thanks guys 💪
Best video ever
Amazing content guys!
🙏🙏
Good information guy's. Keep up the great work!
This video is awesome, really explains it on a simple level. Thank you.
Thanks bro
very interesting because Devon often attempts to post against stronger opponents and fall back on that exact defensive hook quite alot!
These are awesome.
Yes, with Devon’s long lever posting first usually makes his opponents post as well in order to fight for the high ground. When they post this gives Devon the opportunity to drop into the defensive hook by giving up some of his pronation to secure his cup
Larrys wheels watched this video and shouted you guys out in his latest video for teaching him something new!
I know right! How crazy is that😧
Good evening boys just watched this video it’s was another good one thank you for sharing and hope all is well
Informative stuff. The hand and wrist unit is key! Thanks for sharing
Excellent job!
Great videos. I feel that I'd like to see the technique in its completeness before all the what ifs and possible counters. Just a suggestion, but still love the content.
Great video. Very useful for a beginner
Awesome 👏👏👏
good stuff great Job !!
Really useful!
Great Video!
You mentioned that the first move learned should be the posting toproll, what if you have a very short arm? My forearm is only 10”, I’ve tried the posting toproll and it feels completely unnatural and weak for me compared to hooking…should I stick with training it and eventually it may work for me or most likely will it never work because of my body mechanics…I haven’t seen many toprollers that are 5’5”, maybe they are out there though.
💪
New intro is fucking sick Bois
Is posting top roll good for shorter guys?
I’m 5ft 7 and I have short forearms the toproll is comfortable for me but I’m told I’m to short…??
On paper it may not be ideal to toproll as the shorter puller, but that’s not universal. With enough back pressure and side pressure combined a shorter arm can be very effective
Are there any notable changes in technique posting in the straps vs without? I’m way more effective outside the straps with the post. Great teaching guys 💪
Thanks Isaac! The most notable difference is how effective lat drag is in the straps and how much easier it can be to cup down against a strong riser. Just means you have to get stronger!
@@tablemonkeys5262 right good point! Going to think about this at practice this week. Stronger is the goal!
which is the better setup for a posting top roll? cap or no cap?
Try both and see what you prefer
Great video
One of the best arm wrestling channels out there
Oh stop it☺️
What if my hand is weaker, wrist is stronger. Hammer strength is weaker. Side pressure is weaker. Pronation is close. Should I attempt the posting toproll against this opponent? Also should I keep it out of straps?
If you are weaker in both Side pressure and back pressure you are just not strong enough for that opponent. A stronger wrist and pronation is not enough if you loose both side pressure and back pressure
@@tablemonkeys5262 yes, thought as much. Thank you for the reply! I will try my best regardless 💪🏻 I will post how I did here so u know how it went even if I get smoked.
You guys say the counter to the posting toproll is the lowhand toproll but I heard this was the opposite
Post bests Lowhand. Lowhand beats hook. Hook beat post. That’s the basic triangle
Generally high tier matches end up with strap. You miss strap part of the game.
holy fuck
Ditch the background music
great video
Another great videos fellas! I love diving deep into the nuances of this awesome sport. Learned heaps. Thank you.
Great video
Great video
huge fan! I wonder if you guys can explain why supination is ever a beneficial movement in arm wrestling. If someones pronation is the opposite to their opponents cup (flexion), doesn't supination GIFT the opponent their cup? I understand the need for strength WHILE supinated if someone TAKES your pronation, and I understand the need to give up certain things sometimes, including pronation. But I don't see why supinating would ever be beneficial in and of itself. Love your videos!
If you have them palm up all the pressure is on their bicep and at that point wrist flexion is not important. I’ve only been arm wrestling for 9 months so if I’m wrong please teach me. But I believe this is the case
For Toproll, when you pull to the back and to the right/left (whichever arm you are using) and supinate your hand to move your thumb higher into their fingers. So like if you're using right arm, you pull to the back right of the pad and supinate to give yourself a grip advantage.
