@BarbellPitchMeetings I want to clarify that this movie is based on a novel and is not intended to be similar to Baahubali in terms of VFX and larger-than-life characters. The focus of this movie is on practicality and realism, and a significant amount of effort has been put into creating authentic props. Therefore, it would not be fair to compare this historical movie with a mythological one that features superpowered heroes with abilities like high jumps, super speed, and strength.
But still, if you intend to release the movie in other languages, who are unfamiliar with the books and the story, you should have made the screenplay engaging and in a way that it entertaining to audience who don't know the story .
I have seen many Tamil people saying that the movie makes better sense if you have read the novels before. But what's the point of releasing it in other languages then?
It's logical that Tamil people get connected to the story because it is their history and have more emotions at play.
But for others to watch it and enjoy it, you need to make the screenplay more engaging. That's where films like bahubali excelled.

పొన్నియిన్ సెల్వన్ part - 01 కంటే part - 02 చాలా బాగుంది. కడంబూర్ సంబువరాయుడి మాళిగలో ( మహాల్ లో ) ఆదిత్య కరికాల చోళుడి హత్య విషయంలో కల్కి కృష్ణమూర్తి రాసిన కాల్పనిక అంశాలను తీసివేసి నిజ చరిత్రను ఆవిష్కరించారు మణిరత్నం గారు.
ఇంకొక ప్రధానమైన అంశం సినిమా పేరు పొన్నియిన్ సెల్వన్ అనగా తెలుగులో పొన్నినది ( కావెరీ నది ) పుత్రుడు అని అర్ధం.
అయితే, ఇందులో రాజమండ్రిలోని గోదావరి సోయగాల అందం కావేరీ నది పేరుతో మనకు చాలా అందంగా ఆవిష్కరించబడ్డాయి ❤
సినిమా కథ అంతా కూడా తెలుగు చోళుల ఆగమనానికి ముందు జరిగిన చరితను తీసుకున్నారు కాబట్టి ఇందులో తెలుగు చోళ రాజుల ప్రస్తావన లేదు.
ఒకవేళ దీనికి continuity గా Part - 03 & 04 తీస్తే తెలుగు చోళుల చరిత్ర మనకు అర్ధం అవుతుంది. ఇది కేవలం తమిళ చోళుల చరిత్ర మాత్రమే అయినా విక్రమ్, జయంరవి, కార్తీ గార్ల సొంత డబ్బింగ్ తో పాటు తణికెళ్ళ భరణి గారి మాటలు సినిమాకు ఊపిరి పోశాయి.
