Diana Taurasi on Caitlin Clark - in English and Spanish - 'nothing short of remarkable'

  • Following the Fever's 88-82 win over the Phoenix Mercury in front of a sellout (17,071) crowd, future Hall of Famer Diana Taurasi spoke about the impact and influence Caitlin Clark has had in just a few months in the WNBA.
Then, Natasha Cloud says "this is the most evenly matched that the league has been. In my first few years, you used to be able to walk into certain games and be like, 'we literally just have to lace up and we're gonna be good.' That's not the case anymore. That's the growth of the our game."

It will take a couple more years of the next few rookie classes to come into the WNBA and actually make the other teams watchable and fun to watch. But for all the other WNBA teams they don't get the crowds that the Fever get. they wlll just have to stay positive and keep on trucking. In IMHO Dianna is just stating facts as they are for now.
The league exe's can still blow this opportunity to turn the WNBA into something not worth watching, even with Clark in the league. Only time will tell if this is a flash in the pan or a real WNBA glory days around the corner.

Respect to DT to props to CC, even more so on a loss at home. I truly believe it’s these types of truths, positivity to each other from these vets/ coaches and fans to give this dream in the WNBA to become reality. It subconsciously gives everyone in the league and fans watching to do better to be better in giving respect to those that have been here through so tough times, showing grace and respect to each other does nothing but allow us to realize the could be for the WNBA. This is the first day as a new fan I’m pleased in what I see as a whole, and those involved out there on the court deserve to play in this type of atmosphere.

Reality has already come and CC’s “fans” have whined and moaned and had the state rep pen a letter to the league. Not to mention that when it’s clutch time and time to get a stop to win the game, the coach is still having to sit the rookie down because she’s a defensive liability.

I love CC. I am not a sports person, I've always been the nerdy girl, hence the not liking sports, but I wish all this vitriol would stop. Diana never hated CC. Go watch the Bird Taurasi show when they were watching and commenting on Iowa vs SC. They both loved CC's game. She is their "love child born". When DT made the comments about "reality is coming", it was after Iowa beat UCONN in the final four. DT was upset, and yes, I do believe the comment that it would be harder for some more than others was directed at CC, but like I said, I believe the comments were made after the FF game and DT is an ex UCONN player. Being from TN and a HUGE Pat Summit fan, I can't stand UNCONN. So, I can understand her comments. But we fans have got to chill out. The facts are, there are people who like CC because she is white. And there are POC's that don't like CC because she is white. And yes, there are players that come after CC because they are pissed she gets all they attention, so they go after her. And there are those that go after her because they want their 15 minutes of fame. So how about we all just chill the fuck out and just enjoy watching the games. I will say this, I felt so sad for CC when she said that no vets were giving her in-game advise, and seeing how vets are being so kind to Reese must be upsetting for her. I'm glad DT and BG gave her the hugs before the game. I think the poor girl needed those hugs. I hope they give her advice and realize (if it is a problem for them) that it is not CC's faut that some people have lost their damn minds about all of this.
