I watched Shelter many ages ago. It was, has been and will always remain one of my most favorite gay movies of all time. It's hard to find a gay movie with a happy ending and has great quality.
Very special movie. So tender. So beautiful. Not full of gay stereotypes, which was so refreshing. Just about two guys who fall in love and the obstacles that come with it. Great writing, great directing, great actors. Respect
Shelter in my opinion is the greatest LGBTQ + film that has come out in the late 2000’s. Love how Zach came to terms with his sexuality, while falling in love with his best friends brother, all while raising his nephew. Zach deserves that happy ending after spending his life taking care of others (especially after the passing of his mother). Sean found his true love with Zach, not only that he also became a parent to Cody (Zach’s nephew). When Jean left to state, she knew her son Cody would be in good hands with her brother Zach, she knew Cody would be happier having both Zach and Sean raising him. Jean saw how happy Cody was with them when he basically outed Zach to her when he told her how much time he spent with them. I still own this film on DVD. It reminded me of a time I fell in love and had a similar story but different ending 💔
Shelter is my comfort movie, literally lost count for the number of times I've seen it. It's legit one of the greatest lgbt movies ever and I'm not even joking
my comfort movie and couple 🥹 sometimes i just think about what their life is looking like ( the characters not the actors lol) that they stayed together of course and raised cody and eventually adopted him and when same sex marriage became legal they got married and adopted another kid and yeah i need a life but man they make me feel happy things 🥹
I saw this movie one time and absolutely fell in love with the storyline, the actors, even the music. First I purchased the video that I watched 100’s of times. I’ve seen a lot of gay love stories, but none affected me the way this still does today. Then next, there is one song I also had to have. A song titled “Lie To Me” by Shane Mack played in my head so much that I did a deep dive search and found the artist and got the recording, still in my Apple Music album list. This too has this super effect that I feel in my soul. I’ve listened to it thousands of times because I play it on repeat, sometimes for really long stretches, but less than hours at a time. Although I easily could. But if I was to count. A thousand or two hours has been played.
this is a good movie. fed up with those dramas full of anger, pain and other desperate emotions, i find a story about a young boy living his life seriously is quite touching.
This one of the first gay films I watched. Love this cause they have strong chemistry, plus I know one of the lead actors. It's a sweet caring story. Such a great coming out of film!
Sajnálom sokan előítéletekkel de szerelem, zseretetnek mindenkinek. Fantasztikus film ,színészek. El kel fogadni és az emberekben légyen méltóság, emberi magatartás.
This movie was such a big part of my growing up . A queer movie that i identified with. A person growing up in a place with a lot if potential, but alsi responsibilities that clashed. That just wanted to be loved. And it ended with hope
I don’t think we need a sequel for this amazing LGBTQ+ film. It had one of the best endings we could have asked for. How do you follow up a sequel to this amazing film?
Shelter will always be my fave.. such a heartwarming movie that has been a huge part of me growing up gay. Wish the actors careers had panned more theyre great. Their chemistry is undeniable. The OST i ended up downloading them at the time and now its in my spotify. Id listen to it once in a while. A million gay movies have been made after this but this remains classic
I watched this move for the 1st time around 2013 ish and I've rewatched like 3 time since. Such a beautiful story. Makes me dream of finding a love as awesome as this. ❤
Such a good movie and very impressive for I think 2007 or whereabouts. For me it was the antidote for Brokeback Mountain. So depressive that I never really liked it.
@bcnmanhattan50 yeah, they are polar opposites! I liked the Br.Mountain when it came out because it is a really well-made movie, but afterwards I could never watch it again & have no desire to... whereas I must have seen Shelter fifty times by now lol. But if you really want a true anti-Br.Mountain, you should check out God's Own Country - a British film about a sheep farmer who hires a seasonal worker, there's obviously lots of living on the farm stuff (very realistic by the way) - they fall in love, and... it's a happy ending! Who knew? Two farm boys can actually make a life together! Lol Kidding. But seriously, it's a fantastic movie - the growth of the main character from start to finish is really well done & the whole story feels very realistic
@@toramenor thanks. I have watched God's Own Country maybe 3 times but youtube selected scenes probably around 50 or 60. Since we're into this I suggest Latter Days, The Thing About Harry, Yossi, When you're 17. Just a Question Of Love, Le Ciel sur La Tete, Red, White and Royal Blue, Hoje eu quero voltar sozinho, and above all Netflix SMILEY, an absolute gem. I'm sure I'm leaving a few others but those just came to my mind right now. I'm pretty sure you've watched Maurice. Anyway, thanka again
@bcnmanhattan50 nice suggestions: I've seen some of those but not all, so I'll check them out, thanks! Off the top of my head, there's a few other gay movies with happy or good endings I've watched: The Christmas Setup, Dashing in December, Single All the Way, The Way He Looks, All Over the Guy, Touch of Pink, Uncle Frank
I don't recommend giving up a sure thing like female companionship. It's the only thing you can rely on for the long haul. Even if you're attracted to dudes, forget it. Nothing but endless and meaningless anonymous hookups that leave you lonely. Trust me mate, I've been there. Wish I never made the mistake
Que, filme ridículo deicha a sua mulher pro outro cara para ficar com um homem, e um filho, que pode ver tudo e se revolta com toda essa situações que orrou, que família desajustada e essa que orrou 🤨🫣
Actually you should watch it to get to know the full story. It's a great movie. Highly recommended. It's about self love and figuring yourself out even though it could be late (not really late in this case 😅).
I watched Shelter many ages ago. It was, has been and will always remain one of my most favorite gay movies of all time. It's hard to find a gay movie with a happy ending and has great quality.
Watch 'Sunflower' (2024) it's an Aussie gay movie that has one of the best endings I've ever seen in a gay flick....
Can't believe I'm seeing Shelter content in 2024. Absolutely fantastic and human movie
Shaun is the chillest dude I ve ever seen
OMG I LOVE Shelter, it’s such a sweet movie🥰
I’m Love movie😮💨🤌🏼❤️

Hope your ending was good. Love!
Shelter shows it still stands the test of time and that’s how these movies should be.
Shelter is my comfort movie, literally lost count for the number of times I've seen it. It's legit one of the greatest lgbt movies ever and I'm not even joking
Oh my gosh, I remember this movie! Never saw how it ended though. Makes my heart so glad that Shaun and Josh ended up together ☺️.
The full movie is available on UA-cam.
One of the few well-known gay movies that had a nice ending, back in the 00s
Actually it's Shaun and Zack...
And they end up raising Zack's nephew together
So so so sweet!❤🫶😍🥰💯‼️❣️
