Loved discovering it and playing it with my sister on the Playstation 1 with Namco: Museum. We had a blast getting all the way through the game at such a young age 😊
@@Keeper1st dude I would use all these videos just fur a mine craft ride I might put on UA-cam I hope ya don't mind I just don't want people to forget about this guy
They were never recorded in good quality; these were just a bit of fun. Licensing would have been a huge problem even if he had been interested. He did make a few albums of this type of music -- nothing from games but it's the same type of music.
Fantastic! I never get tired of seeing their interpretations, are so full of life and plays so easily, changing the tunes of the music, which I like are songs from video games ... thanks for showing them!
sight reading always amazes me. i remember when the music teacher played off the friends theme tune it was so epic. than he was like ''hmm good tune''.
Just stumbled upon this the first time from the comment of a more recent upload. It’s a bitter sweet taste seeing a “new” video of Tom with his full capacity of him playing the piano. Thank you, Keeper1st, for all the videos and recordings you’ve made over the years. I hope you’re doing great.
@doublefierce I do still have recordings of the bonus stage theme and the final music. While not ragtime, they are ragtime-era style waltzes. The ending music would require more than just a piano, as I recall. But I do want to transcribe them someday. This theme was published in Japan and I was sent a copy of that score by a Japanese UA-camr. But the score was a bit funky and had problems, so I made my own, more readable score.
There's a funny moment when a random passerby notes this same thing in this old video, and actually holds her hand out to block even the peripheral vision of his left hand: ua-cam.com/video/yYzq0am3B4I/v-deo.html
@XDbonsly It sounds completely different to me. Different bass rhythm and everything. Only the cadence at the end for one measure, but that's a pretty standard sort of transition that you find in hundreds of rags.
This is a pure masterpiece. Toy Pop is still a light, lovely game--very nostalgic for me, personally--and I remembered the theme for over a decade now. Mr. Brier definitely does it justice, and it being a sight-read indicates his skill. How do you go about getting sheet music for songs from rare games (i.e. Toy Pop)? Do they sell them in standard booklets, or does someone have to play it by ear, so to speak? I would love to hear Mr.Brier's rendition of the ending victory theme.
@haveasliceofmypie There are several videos, not all by me, of Tom sight-reading stuff. And there are other UA-camrs who have given him stuff. One of my videos is of Tom sight-reading "Guild Rag" by Will Perkins (UA-cam's "wilscool") that Will had just put in front of him. You can ask Will if it's legit. Or write something of your own in the rag/march/foxtrot/novelty/waltz/tango vein, come to one of Tom's appearances and ask him to play it. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
@Keeper1st well acctually have every piano player in your arsenal sight read it, it requires about 14 hands and is on difficulty level chuck norris if it existed
Yeah, he was going for a chord then realized it's supposed to be another bass note and makes a quick correction. Pretty amazing he managed to reach it on time!
you think thats good. if you look for zanarkand piano there this girl aged 9 that sight reads it perfectly. i beleive it too because she is a prodigy or somehting.
I made the sheet music based on an awkward three-staff transcription from Japan. I wrote it the way it should have been written.
YOU *WHAT?!*
@@setsers1
He re-transcribed the piece, using a poorly-made one as a base, fixing its mistakes by ear.
やはりトイポップはピアノが似合いますね!普通に昔からあるラグタイムの曲みたいです。
His left-hand moves so fast it looks like the keys are playing on their own...
Nostalgia just slapped me hard, man those were good times
@corogno I've never had a Playstation. It's after my time. I never saw Toy Pop in the arcades, back in the days of video arcades -- my generation!
great job! 10/10. toypop was always a favorite of mine as is and its a shame its not very popular
Yes great game

i played this game when i was 5 on namco museum volume 1 thank you bring back my childhood of this form a game completion
jimmy robbins same and with my father. We had a blast destroying that witch!
This would fit right in as a saloon song in any western. I love it!
It would be stylistically anachronistic, but that's Hollywood for you.

This is an incredible talent.
Thanks for listen to Japanese songs.
ありがとうございます。
Tom should compile an album of these game tunes, he's an amazing talent!

Love the old saloon-ish vibe. It give the video this ragtimey feel and I like it.
I love this game I played at the age of 7. The theme song was the best I've heard. You did a great job playing the song very amazing and nostalgic.

As a fan of this game for many years I must say this is a fantastic video, thank you for doing this.
I remember watching this alot when I was like 5 or 4!!

Great job, sounds wonderful!
お上手ですね!見事な再現力
This is phenomenal, I loved this game as a kid!!
I searched for the Toy Pop theme and this was the first video that was shown.
This is a certified hood classic.
I always keep coming back to this. Love this song and his playing.
Good gosh, that end flourish...astounding.
心が弾みますね!凄く上手!
That's superb! Class play right there!
Loved this game as a kid.
It is always a pleasure watching your videos.... :D
Nice flourishes. I'm trying to get the notes for this and I'm just trying to play by ear on an app
I guess Tom doesn't mind reading sheet music from Video Games.
Masterpieces music never fade. I love it.
This makes me so happy! I'm nearly in tears! #Childhood
Damn he has good precision with his left hand. Because when you sight-read you don't get to look at it
There's a funny moment when a random passerby notes this same thing in this old video, and actually holds her hand out to block even the peripheral vision of his left hand: ua-cam.com/video/yYzq0am3B4I/v-deo.html
AMAZING! 1000000000000000/10
I have not seen this in ages
Great piano man!

Great! and Thank you sheet music.
I appreciate this..... Very much :-D
See "Ragtime Party -- The Entertainer (Scott Joplin)".

Purely AMAZING.
Que gran pianista es. Uno de los mejores que he oudo
Sounds like the songs you hear in the background of silent films.
Indeed, because the genre of music was popular during the silent film era.
Vaya coordinación de ambas manos y que ritmo
Wow you did an awesome job sounds just like it and the original was all electronic sounds wasnt it?
I love it!😁
So much joy! :D
Played this shit all the time on my PlayStation as a kid.
Thumbs up for Namco Museum!
bravo!
すごいね!
There were some spots where he screwed up, but other than that, that was pretty good.
Where did you get the sheet music? I've wanted to play that song for years. Very well done though. That really is impressive.
Well done! Can you look up "Metro-Cross"? Another song I like. Thanks. Again, That was amazing
True classic!
This was actually hidden from me until i searched for Toy Pop, come on youtube :(

@Keeper1st
The section from 0:42 - 1:20 sounds a bit like it to me. It's not exactly the same but they're pretty close.
@thomasver975 It's in the description.
@Keeper1st well acctually have every piano player in your arsenal sight read it, it requires about 14 hands and is on difficulty level chuck norris if it existed
this is fucking incredible!
nice
Put it on 1.25 speed and it'll sound exactly like from the game.
Nostalgiaaaaa
It’s like you hear this at the saloon or a silence movie in the 20s XD
Wow.. This is... wow.
Awesome! 1-)
@aznr4v3m4st3r It's his specialty, and what I like too.
Niceee!
:D
Pino and Acha are going to Majyo's Castle to save "Friend"!
@XDbonsly hmm.... maybe it's just you. Other than it being ragtime, I don't hear any particular similarities.
@who8mahbacon If you have a piano solo arrangement...
後半はアメリカン・カントリー風になってましたね。
At 0:48 it seems as if Tom's left hand has a glitch.
Yeah, he was going for a chord then realized it's supposed to be another bass note and makes a quick correction. Pretty amazing he managed to reach it on time!
Can you get him to play the entertainer? That would be cool.
He liked the CM7 riff!
Special request for Capcom's Commando Arcade as played by Tom Brier
nice cup of tea
(I tip the fedora to m'lady XD)
Wow. Thats all i can say
@XDbonsly it sounds more like K.K. Ragtime
have him sight read circus gallop!
Is it me or does this sound like Humoresque of a Little Dog at some parts?
Can someone make this in Synthesia form?
I went cross eyed 5 different times
How’s Tom doing?
Not much change. The partial paralysis on the right side may be permanent.
😔 so sad. Will keep him in my prayers
I haven’t seen this since I was 5 years old I’m 12 now
Why isn't this an undertale boss battle theme?
I believe that the music used in Toy pop is protected under copyright
