Thanks Adrian and Rob. These are my two favourite CC ETFs. Love the diversity and approach. I’ll be gradually adding more over the next few years as I switch out some growth to income to be ready for the day we can live off these. It’s a few years yet but exciting to see a path to financial freedom with PII.
Incredible video, appreciate that you touch on these funds every few months, these two have a big weighting across my portfolios. Will add more throughout the years!!!!! Thx for all the info you and your guests provide....extremely helpful!!!! Have a great rest of your weekend.....cheers
I have about $10K of HDIV, but I am getting killed on the reduced market value. Do you see that downside continuing? I also have about $155K in HYLD with the same issue. Thoughts?
As of today, HDIV is "consolidating" at a high premium price so after a consolidation period sometimes the price pulls back! Waiting for that pullback to purchase it at a discount! Also, RS today is pulling back so we shall see the price will decrease from its premium closer to discount prices. Patience!!! We want another "Christmas sale" on the stock market eh! Marc from Brandon investing showed 6 general indicators used to gauge of probability of a true bottoming of prices. It appears a pull back is more possible and probable. I hope so. I am in cash right now waiting for more GDV, HDIV, and RS. 😊👍🇨🇦
Hey Meg, i am not sure what you mean regarding HDIV. Its an ETF so the NAV will always be close to the Market price. Its only with CEFs like RS and GDV where we can maybe snatch deals. But that is usually in a crappy, down market. Not the case right now so most CEFs are trading at premiums.... how funny is it that as PII investors we always want the market to "GO DOWN" lol its a privilege... P.S. in my opinion all that signal stuff is a bunch of nonsense :)
@@PassiveIncomeInvesting Adriano, briefly, I realize you feel it is nonsense re: signal stuff, you have stated your position many a times in several of your presentations. I can respect your position. The one point that is crystal clear with ETFs, as well as with other investing vehicles, is that although PII's respect the NAV price not all investors buying HDIV are PII's. There are thousands that are traders. Traders have influence to push the price up and down mostly based on sentiment and fear. it is there fear that I love to harness as opportunity. Sounds cruel when I write it this way but it is true. So these traders buying HDIV means I can have fun watching on stock charts where the price stands relative to a few very successful indicators that I have enjoyed learning and applying over the past few decades. As much as how I understand your position on not paying attention to stock charts, I like to "Play the game" a bit with these day traders and when they show fear and sell off HDIV pushing the price down, BOOM! I have my stink bid ready for it to trigger! So much fun! I get a real buzz from it all. Especially when you have waited for the fear of the traders to kick in. Then, as a die hard PII, I hold the investment for years and years, adding on the pull backs. So much fun right now as I sit in cash waiting for discount prices in both ETF's and CEF's. As a matter a fact, minutes ago in the TFSA I put in a stink bid for CEF RS. I sold crr.un, bre and ax.un in TFSA to switch them for RS. No need to explain why, you keep showing it over and over and over again about why in most of your presentations. Lets see where HDIV goes from here Adriano. Yes, its Nav is 16.32 and it sits at this moment around 16.21. But I want to see it pull back down to where it was last month in the 14 dollar range. I have 1000 shs as I dipped my toe in it last month at an awesome discount. So, let's go there traders and your fears! Pull down that price so us PII"s can come in and swoop more up and hold it for years to come enjoying the income stream📈$📉 Adriano, your channel has certainly added a lot more fun to the trading "game." Keep up the good work. Your acquaintance, Adam B., Parallel Wealth Channel, did a segment on inexpensive places to move when in retirement and he mentioned your name and location as one of the nice spots to go. Hey Adrian , great video and interview , I don’t hear you ever mention HCAL(the 6 major Canadian banks) from Hamilton ETFs ..they have raised there dividend from .087 to .127 in 2 years ? Any opinion on that etf ? Thanks pal .
The reason I ask is I’m thinking of selling ZWC and I finally found your video when you sold yours and you replaced it with DS. Would this be a good time to buy DS at 7.80 or is that a premium price or discount ?
Thanks Adrian, I am glad I discovered these ETF’s through your Channel. I will be retiring this year and feel confident on the monthly income these investments produce.
I did the same but later also realized that diversified to more Etfs won't negatively effect return. HDIF and HDIV are both very similar, in the figure I may sell out of HDIV for HDIF
Well done Adrian! I was hoping you would review the difference between the HYLD vs HYLD.U. Yes, the HYLD.U is in US funds but do you see an advantage holding it that way? You've mentioned why your RRSP has US investments, avoiding 15% taxes but the HYLD.U doesn't have that tax, so can be held in cash account or TFSA. What's your thoughts?
I bought all your crap, HDIV QYLD JEPI etc.. all down huge. And even w the monthly payout, the etf just drops the exact same price the next day, meanwhile the mkts are rocking. Missed out on thousands of $$$.

Hi John, I understand you would feel slighted with your unrealized losses (in you still are holding them and did not sell.) Take a deep breath here. Things will be OK John. Passive income investing is about looking at buying to hold for only the dividend income stream. If you use the NAV of the "crap" you bought as a guide about what is a good entry price, slightly above as premium or better at a discount, that might appease your need to see the price go up. John, passive income investing is about seeing that monthly income stream from the dividends. If you want to be a trader this is not the style of investing that appears to suit your needs. Take a deep breath. It will be OK if you hold on to them for years and eventually you might realize the joy of receiving the dividend income. Cheers from East Canada.....long time buy and hold investor with quality dividend paying investment vehicles. John, slow and steady wins the race my friend. You got this!👍

I like HDIF a lot, but have been holding off buying into the Hamilton funds because of the extremely high expense. The MER on HDIV is 2.09% + the TER of 0.27% = 2.35%. its because of the leverage and the fees of the underlying. my advice: stop looking at fees, look at the returns which are NET of fees. lower fees don;t = higher returns. JUST looking at fees is bad if not worse as JUST looking at stock prices....
