G660 Farmertec Several Upgrades Later

- Hey Everyone,
Here is a quick list of updates done to my G660 farmertec saw.
1- Egan performance air filter kit with an oiled foam UNI filter Built by Sean in Australia.

2- Muffler mod- I used a Medium Wide deflector from HMFW LLC

3- Conservative port work with stock base gasket and no lathe work yet. I had to leave room for cutting the base of the cylinder. I did clean up all the casting imperfections in the intake, exhaust and transfer ports, then chamfered the edges properly on the g660 farmertec cylinder after port work was completed.
Factory squish measures at an average of .033"
Compression tested at 185lbs and the saw has not been fully broken in yet.

It's still cutting great and still running factory parts with my port work and triple port muffler. I use it as a stump saw. Bought a bunch of OEM parts thinking I'd have problems but I got lucky I suppose
Hi there, just stumbled upon your videos while waiting for mine to arrive, told myself I would touch up the chamfers if they were too snatchy as well. Do you think a base gasket removal can be done on those saws ? Did you have to touch up the timings ? Like exhaust roof or intake floor ? Never had a 660 so I'm not sure around where those should be...

I do all of my own port work on these 660's. This cylinder needed more work on the all blue pre built saw than the kits I have been building and with base gasket its squish was .033" so I left it for longevity. I finished up a white and blue plastics 660 kit saw last week for a friend. Wish I got a video of it, that saw was stronger and had 30 pounds more compression, base gasket deleted and squish was .019". The cylinder was much better on the kit saw, but it got a very nice port and polish job.
@@Thegreenmachine911 Okay I see, how did you come around the numbers ? Are you used to working 660's ? I have virtually no experience on what works and what does not besides my common sense and general engine knowledge...
Did yours have trouble idling out of the box? Mine is on its second tank of fuel and it likes to die when not on throttle
Depending on use due to break in of the saw you will have to fiddle with the fuel mix to get it happy sometimes. Personally, the one i owned came in rich and i left it that way until i ran probably 5 tanks. BUT if your having issues try and play with the low jet to see if it needs more or less and go from there.
What upgrades, the f#ckin stickers?!
How do they hold up in the long run
They are a solid saw with a few parts switched out, and with port work they run very strong. I'm using this one to mill with as it was a torque build, havent had any trouble.
@@Thegreenmachine911how fast roughly are you able to mill boards with it? Im thinking kf getting one fkr the same reason
