I love these videos and being along for the journey. You're getting the car closer to your ideal vision of it and learning the processes. Really admire that you just get stuck in with realistic expectations and boundless optimism. There many skills, like the windscreen fitting, that are impossible to do right first or second or fifth time but sure, someone who has done it for years will make it look easy. If I had the same approach and expectations as you, instead of the resistance to try when i can't have a perfect result, I'd have a roadworthy car by now. Don't stop, don't let negativity into your funny soul, just keep having fun and seeing where this takes you. Also, fantastic to see a 'real' hardware shop like I knew as a kid. That's definitely a good place for a rummage! Also also, you probably know this already, but you have a fantastic dad! ❤
Hi New subscriber here Love the videos, I’ve watched all the repaint ones and looking forward to seeing the finished job, I’m in the process of pre painting my Morris Minor and getting to a nice but useable condition, must get around to making some more videos ! You’ve inspired me to crack on with that All the best Tim 😊👍
@@Tyresome I’ve had a number of them amongst other old stuff. This one is the oldest I’ve had (1952). Only recently been able to get back into Classic cars due to life, mortgage, kids etc…..
The shelves are something else eh!? Very ironic that they're holding wood treatment... Lamborghini yellow is a LOUD choice 🤣must have been like Ali G! Glad to get the old seals out for sure! Weight reduction! Blue!? The primery grey colour?
I remember 'Repaint' being a big new thing in Halfords when I was 15 and doing my first £25 Morris Minor - the selling point being it was available in a limited range of manufacturer's colours. It was good quality stuff, and I did a Standard Vanguard in a sort of Grey-Green, looked OK from 30 feet away but my standards and knowledge were limited. A lifetime later and I'm doing a Scimitar Coupe so facing similar work to what you are doing, just about to do the screen rubber in fact. But I will get it sprayed professionally this time, though I am doing the hidden bits in aerosol so that I can get behind the lights, handles, door furniture and so on, just leaving the very visible areas to the experts. Good luck with it!
Sounds good! The dream would be a proper paint job, maybe one day! I think this paint must be VERY similar because it also was only available in a few different colours.... I love a coupe! Good luck with yours too :)
Such a shame.
You think so? Are you more of a green with stenciled text down the side?

All that work on what could be quite a desirable car, and you brush paint it, why not just hire a spray gun?
I don't have the technology unfortunately.
If you wipe the excess off the brush onto the tin you will drip a lot less everywhere, good colour though .
Yeah man, I think I was just a bit excited! 😀
easily happens! Least haste, more speed ,as my grandad used to say( still not entirely sure what that means though ) 🖖@@Tyresome
Great cars, my dad had one when they first came out, an old 'G' reg.
Right on!
"DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING.".. Clearly!

Many years ago I had a Reliant Regal 750 CC 4 cil engine and polyester body !
Gorgeous cars! Must have smelt like linen going down the motorway!
